Perhaps a long-threaded woodscrew then pull?

You can plug the small hole after with a little putty or something, or maybe PVA mixed with woodshavings?

Not at all. Moral consistency and the avoidance of hypocrisy.

There is no need to say that we should not make any changes because some people eat some meat.

Changes to legislation surrounding horse racing are not impossible for that reason. There is no binary choice between not caring for any animals, and, completely protecting all animals from harm for, or by, a human for entertainment or consumption.

Therefore it is a false dichotomy.

@ walleater – did your name come from a crash, or a rabbit?

    Awwww! They’re beautiful!

Spraying is often a problem, though Tak has calmed down since he lost his, umm, motivators. He’s probably still looking for them, hence the mischief.

Spaying should also be done on Female rabbits [point of general info], as they are prone to cancers of the reproductive system if not allowed to breed naturally. Also, they can be aggressive little sods if not done [hutch ownership and defense].

This is a costly and dangerous operation, count on having to stay by the animal for two days at least afterwards, perhaps hand-feed and maybe even force-feed if the stress/pain is putting them off eating.

    Another vote for cranks/pedals off.

Suggested this to two pensioners who visited a shop I worked in, both got the hang of it in a few minutes.

Two words of caution [no slight intended]

1 – Ensure you know how to remove/refit cranks etc – Sheldon Brown’s site is a good place to start with mechanical things, eg one pedal is a reverse thread.

2 – If it’s square taper cranks or similar – a bit of pipe insulation or bubble wrap needs to be put over the resulting stubby ends or someone’s gonna bruise their ankle real quick.

An unflattering picture, but I’ve never seen Ruby cross her feet! We’re all watching Poirot, except Tak who is trying to hide in the sub. Can you see a pattern here?

You and Yours was the programme:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0735qjt

The teeth are, well, should not be an issue. A combination of training, respecting the animal’s needs and friendship should mean you won’t get bitten. Oh, and spay/neutering. THIS IS NECESSARY.

Accidents can happen, though. I have had to point that one out several times

“A rabbit might not be a good pet for your young child as they can bite if not handled correctly.”
“What do you mean bite? I thought they were cute and fluffy”
“They have teeth than can slice hardwood and chop cables. They shouldn’t bite you if you treat them correctly, but you should be aware it is a possibility”
    “Yeah, but does it hurt?”
“Well, Ruby bit me once by accident when I was playing with her and her teeth met in the middle. After travelling through 2cm of skin”
“I’ll take the guinea pig after all!”
    “Great choice.”

Meanwhile on another corner of the internet:

“Saw High Rise yesterday. Its a fantastic film! its all weird, nasty, dark, hilarious and stylish at the same time. similar to Brazil (1985) fantastic performances all around. So far my favourite in cinema this year!”

“I loved it too! Thank goodness for interesting and innovative directors like Ben Wheatley…”

    Did you like Sightseers?

EDIT – Trailer features Com Truise. I am going to the cinema right now 😛

    Best insult at work

    The minimum wage.

You expect me to do the bare, legal, enforceable minimum? No?

Then why insult me by offering the same?

Great tip on the programme, I shall iPlayer it. Yes, it is a huge problem. I worked for Pets at Home for a while, and the amount of people I put off or occasionally even had to refuse rabbits was very high. The public perception of rabbit ownership is very innacurate (stops typing to remove rabbit from subwoofer again)….

Mine don’t like being off the ground. Neither will sit on the sofa, and its taken a while to find a way to pick them up that works well. Seems that if you have a hand across the chest with front paws on hand, and, the pelvis/upper rear legs in the other hand, you can hold them with their back or face against you, but there’s no stress of having the feet against you which feels like they are standing but trapped. I might upload a picture when missstripes wakes up and gets off my leg!

Pepper looks like a sweetie! The fireplace pic was cute, I figure it was a warm day?

CG – they live in a two story hutch and spend most of the daytime hopping around downstairs and eating the plasterboard!

They’re full-time indoor buns and get pretty confused outside. Especially Ruby, who is more flighty.

All I can say is that budget Logitech and Roland/Edirol gear have both surprised me.

The budget 2.1 Logitech set is usually pretty musical, and the speakers are tiny. The box goes somewhere under the desk.

I have never used a soundbar etc.

I think the jockey should be buried with the horse if the horse is dead …

Yeah, I’m with you on this. Well, assuming that the Jockey has negligently placed the animal in foreseeable or unreasonable danger.

I, too, am sickened by this. My “New” country [NL] is taking quite a lot, IIRC.

Part of the reason I am getting really keen to find a job is to be able to contribute more, this isn’t being handled rightly, at all.
