What I actually bought yesterday was these:

Which I bought in a store, but are online here:
    http://www.bever.nl/columbia-peakfreak-enduro-2-0-od-schoen-habcc60002

Is that a better suggestion, OP?

Also, OP needs to know that all different brands make shoes to different lasts – IE the Merrels’ above are massively wide around the forefoot, and quite wide around the midfoot/arch – I have worn Merrel for some hiking and touring on old Shimano DX flats, but for hiking with a pack they would not offer enough midfoot support and maybe also are lacking in midsole stiffness. Columbia seem to be more like Salomon, with a figure-8 last [tighter around the middle than the ends] but with a more assymetric toe box and a much wider forefoot. That happens to suit me to a tee, but OP needs to know which brands actually are the right shape for his foots!

    Foots, lol.

Longest lasting shoes I’ve ever had are M&S, approx 6 years and still nice enough to wear to interviews.

Yes, otherwise the warm water plume heats the thermostat in the top bit and the temp is innacurate.

    Here’s my setup.

    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/led-fishtank-lighting

As for cleaning, my tips are: Understock, oversize filter, shrimp, strong plants, plenty of light. If you do the above then the tank can recycle most of the toxins, so cleaning is water change (30%), pump and glass cleaning. I don’t vaccum the gravel. If it wasn’t for low water pressure here (buckets take 10 min to fill) then cleaning would take 30mins a week.

The dribble down the back is because the tank was secondhand and the previous owner painted the rear glass with blackboard paint, which doesn’t stick properly.

In a different, but similarly stupid set of circumstances, the debt-relief charity MissStripes worked for and which I raised money for have been hacked and all personal data stolen. Damn low.

I no longer recommend Motorola phones since they (under new ownership) made it clear that they don’t give a stuff about updates. You’ll be left with unpatched software and they won’t even commit to the suggested minimum of quarterly updates.

“I never understood why it was green”

I think these series are a little before my time, however…

A while back Mark Kermode had ?the son? of the guy responsible for that series on the film show, because Mark was a massive fan of the series in question, he asked the above question as well (I think he repainted his one the correct colours). The answer was that with that and other models from the series, the marketing team belonging to the toy company were convinced that the correct colours were not appealing, that no one would buy the toy. Green, however, was a guaranteed seller… Hence they ended up green 🙂

PS i had to post in this thread as i dreamed i accidentally broke a priceless model with little trusses and was desperately trying to fix it :/

NB, fires in saunas are easy to start and spread extremely fast, I suggest you soak-test before you install and be sure your connections are very secure after installation.

The regulator in the PSU is probably overheating and self-protecting. Each strip draws circa 2A, though may operate on 1.5A (TBH they probably round the power figures up). You should therefore use a 12V 4A transformer to provide enough power.

The only reason this would not work is if the LED strip expects to work with a specific transformer which was matched to that exact model of LED strip and controlled the output in a specific way.

Just to check, post the model number of the LED strips so we can verify before you purchase.

WRT lamp life, depending on budget you may be now able to find a unit with non-incandescent light source… Some Epson’s have had blue lasers for a while, and LED’s have really come on. I confess I’m not up to speed on this though, budget been too tight for a while!

I have had one and my folks do have one. A dedicated roller pulldown screen is the easiest way to ensure good colours and brightness. If you can reach the projector where its mounted you can probably “zoom” the image so if youre not desperate for a full-size view, you can reduce the illuminated area and increase the brightness – probably better for watching daytime Jeremy Kyle when it’s light and you don’t need such a large image.

The main drawbacks of a projector are light intensity, bulb life and purchase cost.
