I learned it just the other day myself and your reply is much more insightful than mine

Old 2-stroke Saabs had a freewheel to stop you running the engine without injecting fuel, as that would have run it dry of oil as well.

The Ukrainians did it, there’s zero doubt about that.

For those of you too busy to Google it, he’s a fictional helecopter pilot of derring-do.

Ukranian said special ops I’d guess
    They’re just messing with Russians

    …. is my only conclusion

Does anyone know what this means?

    I do :)

It’s an obscure reference for sure, but the question stands…. Who do we think was flying the two helicopters that attacked the oil depot in Russia?

Both parties are denying it, to my knowledge.

So, who was flying those choppers, eh?David Pross?

    They’re cutting hedge technology.

I am glad all the usual suspects are present and correct.

Q: If it takes a fly a week to walk a fortnight, how long does it take to sandpaper an elephant down to a greyhound?

    A: A lemon.

Maybe that’s what he’s afraid of. Domestic propoganda would have to create a whole deepfake version just to air it and they’re still running windows XP

It seems they have a reasonable supply of cruise missiles.

Looks to me that if those (and perhaps bombing runs also) were countered the situation would be quite different right now.

Lots of countries are very difficult to invade

Funny that’s where the borders ended-up, eh?

    Hey ho.

I find it hard to imagine, but then I wouldn’t think of rolling tanks into another country and trying to turn it to dust either…..

    I had an idea.

Seeing as, apparently, millions of people think this is an avoidable act of barbarism and should stop at once…

What if some of these multinational millions travelled to Ukraine and walked, in peaceful protest through the country? Walked to the battles and filled the areas? Would the Russian Army dare to fire on these people in their thousands or tens of thousands?

I get this a lot and eventually realised it’s likely the numlock key. If your address is ~first.last@xxxx then anyone who appended a number to that (first.last42@xxxx) has a chance to sign you up for something if the numlock key isn’t down.

Perhaps, but in any case test the ram. I think Windows can do it, but memtest (I use memtest86) will rule the issue out.

If its integrated graphics, it could be using more RAM with the newer screen.

So, to me along with the rest of the story this also suggests RAM issues.

AAah, scrolled through the whole thread and see Polyphia just above, YES!

Latest things for me is G Jones.

Pasting some random item of his that’s probably not geoblocked.

Trap is weird, but this is amazingly exciting. Also love the fact it like synthwave but, yaknow, less retro.

This can also happen from a software update IIRC, squashing the operation of knockoff controller chips in the cables.

But good luck with the defluffing…. Gosh that’s not a phrase I expected to type

    Stripping a frame sucks.

Building wheels with new parts is great.

Internal routing is horrible if you forget the string.

Cleaning a drive train is pants if you use greasy oil.

Setting up new gears with everything crisp and clean is lovely.

There’s a fantastic song about this on the new NOFX Single Album, but I can’t embed it because there’s a swear word in the title card :(

Bloody dishwashers. I swapped the combi heater pump in mine, the the main board promptly did a bosh and fried itself meaning I spent 6 months bailing water out when the tablet flap opened and refilling it with hot water. Then it went completely on the blink again and I drew the line
