Not familiar with the exact fork, but can you not refer to official SRAM service documents? It may be that assembling it the wrong way up does have an effect, check in their guide.

I bet you don’t need a 700W PSU these days unless you SLI.

EDIT – reading the comments on that edition of the chart it seems that Tom’s has not done a good job this time.

    Here’s the Heirachy

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

I think the 480 is probably the best option for the cash right now, but you have to see how UK prices compare.

    Try again:

    https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/01/best-budget-graphics-card/

Mainly a test for the 470 and 1050Ti, this also mentions some up-to-date figures for RX480 performance:

“As an aside, retesting the RX 480 shows just how much AMD’s drivers have improved since launch. There’s a huge 25 percent boost across most games, which makes the RX 480 far more competitive with the GTX 1060. It’s still not quite as fast, and the current pricing on the 8GB version makes it a tricky to recommend outright, but if you can find a good deal the RX 480 is well worth a look.”

You can listen to the snippets it’s recorded.

Remind me to abuse this fact on my mate’s machines when I visit and they haven’t logged out… or alternatively record other snippets to pollute their google account history ;)

Are you totally unwilling to build it yourself? There’s always loads of guides and videos online that can advise you on the state of the market.

NB – I know this is always true, but right now, with that budget, I’d wait another month or two and wait until AMD had launched it’s new “Ryzen” CPUs. I think it’s going to affect the market quite a lot.

The shop had the same problem that I have seen other mechanics have – they over-tightened [and/or cross-threaded] the hose after shortening and ruined the composite lever body. Now waiting for another lever :/

Loving my P9. The cameras are excellent! Not cheap though :( Still, made me re-evaluate Huawei.

IMHO – use a basic decent cable first, eg:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/BlueRigger-3-5mm-Stereo-Audio-meters/dp/B00GG5CF74
then if you’re bothered about improving the sound, then try a more expensive solution. The BlueRigger cables have always been decent enough for me, and very very cheap.

I see some of the usual twaddle has surfaced :/

Morgan is an odious little sphincter who’s claims to fame ought to be his courtroom convictions.

The Headline he’s using in the Mail “PIERS MORGAN: Memo to anyone who voted for Trump or Brexit – pedophile-loving hypocrite Ewan McGregor holds you in utter contempt. So why on earth would you want to see any of his movies ever again?” shows what a petty and unpleasant goit he is and also further illustrates the enboldenment of the alt-right [not-right] news corporations…. STW is ahead of the curve on this, the DailyHeil is hate speech and nothing more.

Shortly after as I was browsing the internet I had loads of adverts pop up for Clearasil products. How the hell my camera knew what I was doing was way above my head!

Probably either analysis of recorded speech or, if you were using the “mirror mode” of your camera software then it might figured you were a candidate. The software might also record the movements with accelerometers and make a guess about what you were doing with the camera function.

The background audio analysis is getting quite creepy, every time you load a search page or use the google search app you’re likely being recorded at the same time. When this ends is unclear. Additionally Google will use sounds previously recorded in the background; have a look into your phone’s background data use figures….. it’s around 15% data analysis traffic on a standard Android handset.

BTW Facebook is analysing all photos uploaded in near real-time as well.

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/show-facebook-computer-vi/elafbihhbfmfihdflghclaclcilcnmie

Based on some experiments over the last few days they’re using this to screen all images for “banned content” in realtime at upload. This image:
cannot be uploaded. Adding gaussian blur and reducing the contrast will fool the filter….for now. The situation is similar with youtube blocking known banned content [see, eg, copyright-infringing content now encoded with additional background imagery to bypass the current state of the filter]

Pretty sure any modern IDE>USB adapter will be compatible with the latest version of the IDE protocol, whatever that is. You may have to set a jumper on the drive to “Master” or, you may not. Start by just plugging it in.

IMHO – buy any adapter from Amazon that has a decent amount of feedback and costs a couple of quid more than the cheapest, preferably not one poasted from China or you’ll never get a refund.

If you have a few more quids try this:

    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/startech-usb-30-to-sata-or-ide-hard-drive-hdd-adapter-converter-cable

EDIT _ took too long to type, maybe buy the one c00gl3s just suggested.

I would reseat it again while checking it’s not that the inner tube or rim tape is twisted.

    *Disassemble
    *Deflate inner tube and inspect
    *Sprinkle talc in tyre.
*Fit half the tyre to the rim
    *Check rim tape
*Inflate inner until it is just a toroid
    *Insert/seat valve. Locknut loose!
*Lie wheel on knee, work tube into tyre void/volume. Ensure even tension, no creases. Adjust pressure if necessary to “fit” tube to tyre void.
    *Centre tyre over rim
*Tuck other bead over rim profile
*Work around both sides of the tyre with your thumbs adjusting/centring the bead as best possible.
*Inflate to 15psi, recheck bead. Ensure locknut is resting against the rim afterwards.
*Fully inflate if looking good. If not aligned/lumpy/twisted fix before riding or the tyre may deform and not go on straight in future.
    *Tighten locknut slightly.

Really uncooperative tyres can be aided with soapy water or loads of talc, but they can then also pop over the rim if they’re quite loose fitting.

    Good luck!

Or if you’re feeling flush Marathon Supreme is almost without a drag penalty and extremely tough…about as durable as the Plus.

EDIT: also your should invest in a pump with guage or a cheap standalone guage…. Correct pressure helps enormously.

Have you actually done any calculations of force then? She might be slight, but if the parts are designed to be supported on both sides then you really should establish that the forces in this usage case are comparable.

Strongly recommend you buy only a GDDR4/GDDR5 card, NOT A DDR3 or GDDR3 card!

Geforce 750 or 750Ti is about as low as I would go. THESE DO NOT NEED AN EXTERNAL 12v POWER CABLE.

Yes you need to know if you can power it, but if you have 75W [6.5A at 12V] spare from the PSU you’ll be fine. You can upload the full spec to the PC and a pic of the sticker on the PSU and we’ll be able to figure it out for you.

Oh, it was indeed cranberry that posted the 90% figure! Sheesh, I should coffee before posting. My apologies, Jambalaya.

Looking at that post again – the “cars catching fire” bit is odd. The Dutch set fireworks off in the street for newyears, EVERYWHERE. But they only do it for 4 days a year ‘else it’s illegal*.

Not sure what that has to do with anything, however.

*they do also do this, however. ALL THE SODDING TIME. FOR DAYS AND DAYS…

No it sucks. Anyway, I am sorry you had a bad experience here. I can only say from my time in Gelderland [pretty damn rural] the majority of people are kind, generous and don’t want to offend. Your posts usually make me smile, so let me know if you happen to travel near Arnhem and we can have a beer and swap stories.
