And what if it’s the uniform? Personally, I think uniform is pretty pathetic – but then the world turns on these shallow outward showings of power, or impracticality [see suits:

I, however, have been subverting it by wearing a pair of Wranglers all week [until today as mentioned], short sleeved shirts and Airwalks and yesterday the same pants for 2 days in a row by mistake.

I have my own office FWIW, and I was told-off when I was busted sloping about in flip-flops 🙂

RE shirts – if worn only around an office, or perhaps for an evening out etc then I will hang it up for a few days and wear it again. I use Crystal Deodorant, don’t eat fast food and wash hard. My miss’stripes will tell me if I niff. She does, but it’s pretty rare 😉

I think it will fit/work, it’s just lower spec than an i5. Should be fine though, if the rest of the machine isn’t crap. Do a wipe and clean install of Windoze to remove bloat. Be aware you may need to phone microsoft and explain what you’ve done if you just swap the CPU in a working machine, especially if you’ve changed other hardware.

Download the manual for your mobo and see if it’s listed as compatible – there’s usually a more detailed section on that.

I’m a bit confused – or do you mean the amp had 4+ channels of
amplification. That’s what I used, a 6-chan receiver, using 4 of them to bi-amp two speakers.

If its in “long term storage”, in the fridge at about 40% charge. Do not allow to freeze or touch frost. Don’t run dead flat either. Store somewhere cool and dry if not the fridge, but allow to warm up to room temp before work.

FWIW I have seen a lot of cheap, failing, laptops after a year or two. I’d buy new and get a warranty; but that does mean more than £200 really.
