I thinking should point out that my just over a year old Samsung ARM Chrome book has now developed issues with the screen, all the dark colours show nasty artifacts like its in 8 bit or something. It does get a beating, but I think its the display connection fraying.

Hi – we have bikes and a car 🙂

I don’t mind travelling up to 5 miles to uni on a bike, but I’m very interested to hear about any potential places to rent in the area as a whole.

    Thanks John,

    Anyone else?

Daytime bump. I’d far rather deal with a private landlord.

    Yo!

    It’s that time again 😉

The flat in Canal Road is OK, but we’re pining for t?h?e? ?f?j?o?r?d?s? a garden. We should be able to move in about a month, but any time after that is of interest.

The circumstances haven’t changed, I will be returning to do a Masters at the Uni, and MissStripes is there ’till September.

Looking to rent for around £450, 2 bed so we can have a study room.

From the above posters, do any of you nice people have a place to view at the moment? We’d consider many areas – but moving out of town a bit is the goal this time.

References from letting agents can be arranged – we’ve not had/caused any trouble.

On a slightly different note – seen a place on Zoopla – off Thornton Road, BD8. Will I/we die [or get burglarised to death]?

The camera is OK unless you enlarge the images and it is not OK for prints.

All those snaps I sent you were taken with this one, Rich.

I guess it’s not there fault but a few seem to have a lose grasp of the English language.

OK – I’ll look into it, Ta.

On a side note – try walking into a Panasonic shop and asking them to order you some bike tyres, always causes an amusing outcome.

I suspect there would be side-effects. To the house, and the man’s freedom.

Interesting that there are 3 products listed that I’ve used long term and had no issues with whatsoever.
Panaracer Rampage SC – check. ok they slip a bit when its gets mucky
Hope QRs – check. never had mine slip or undo.
Sealskinz Soaks – check. keep my feet dry and warm

Conti Vertical tyres, more like horizontal if you ask me.

You’ll never guess what tyre I fitted when the RSC’s wore out…!

I did like the way the Panaracers rode, but they just got too many punctures. Seriously, 3-5 a day in Cornwall. Frustrating.

There is a real answer. Also usually the most effective traps too, I have used them with 100% success rates.

Just adding my voice to the “Vet” crowd.

While vets are expensive, it’s often less hassle for both of you to go sooner rather than later. Also you peace of mind.

Finally, if the worst comes to the worst and he’s ill – the sooner the treatment is started the better the outcome is likely to be and there is also the possibility of a cost saving if an illness is not allowed to progress before treatment is started.

Best of luck to you both.

I am puzzled by the dishwasher method.

Encouraged by people mentioning it on here I placed a sooty sacepan in one once. I had to disassemble the entire friggin’ dishwasher and scrub all the gunk off the trays, the arms and anything plastic afterwards. Took well over an hour and it didn’t really go away.

I dread to think what would happen if I placed a smeggy cassette in one!

Hey, it’s not a totally bad idea and props to him for trying on KS, making a prototype and testing it on camera etc.

    BUT:

Pretty sure that you could remove that Kevlar wadding as step 1, and then

Step 2:Massive bolt croppers wielded by ginormous man who uses them correctly [i.e. place one end on the ground and bounce on it]

    would remove the chain.

    So.
    4/10.

People slagging him off for being a hipster really should go outside more. Like you were never a “cool dude”?!

I might send him a pair of bar end plugs, though, instead.

    Panaracer Rampage SC:
    Highly recommended by all…

Punctures at the mere mention of a bramble. Also lasted about 100 miles.

Goodish weather: White spirit+agitate / air dry / can of hot wax
Badish weather: White spirit+agitate / air dry / oil

If you’re minted then use White Lightning, but it doesn’t last long.

I just bought twincore on a reel for my second system. It probably came from Maplin. The sort of thing you might find on a desklamp.

    Sounds fine to me.

On the main system I basically use the same thing but thicker, CableTalk 3 multi strand.

I would, however thoroughly tin the ends with lead solder to prevent oxidation.

Hi, I might have slightly misused it actually. I mean they usually came on complete bikes. As such they should be cheap to buy complete as people tend to swap them out if they have brakes they favour.

I’d deffo use deionised water, certainly worked for a keyboard full of Cillit Bang recently.

But you should not do this to the screen, as it will leave nasty marks, so the process will require a dismantle. Perhaps try drying it out for a week first and then the above if no joy.

Fixing a swollen worktop is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.

    You squeeze the particles together,
    apply a heatgun,
and then when it’s all hot, steamy and sweaty:
empty sticky glue all over the surface.

[No, that’s total BS, but totally worth it 😆 ]
