Funny you should mention this…. Just picked up my first glasses ever. Quite the revelation!

Mine are from Specsavers, they seem fine: quick prescription and a decent range. MissStripes got hers there too and has for several years.

Only drawback was the whacky pricing: BOGOF, but you don’t want non coated lenses, so that was an extra €60 straight away. Seeing (lol) as they’re my first pair, I choose to buy one pair and get 20% off, rather than two pairs with no real clarity (ell-oh-ell) of vision (IGMC) concerning the style that would suit me.

I did ask a friend who works in the industry about lenses, and he said the thin lenses have more chromatic aberration, if that bothers you.

He’s been a sad forklift for a while now, but now with a poorly axle he’s really miffed.

I forget which was first, but the first two genuine albums were

    Blur:Parklife

Manic Street Preachers:Everything Must Go ()

Both pretty good today I’d say.

Are you tightening the bolts with the right pattern and to the correct torque? No grease, only anti-sieze.

Diving to Scotland with the bikes, but not the pedals or QRs is pretty depressing!

Scillonian 3 is a barf machine because she’s flat bottomed, to clear the sandbanks. IIRC her draught is around 3m so she’s a tea tray, capable of motion in all directions at once.

When I used to race gigs, even the rowers were ill on the crossing!

Having analysed puns myself, I’d say only a 10% made me laugh.

They were usually accidental, however, so effectively no-pun-in-ten-did.

    I’ll get my moleskins…

He’s not the first to study punes.

“Named after the founder of the Fools Guild, one Jean-Paul Pune who, in his magnum opus, Essay on a form of wit devotes 160,000 words to defining the Five Great Classes and seventy-three sub-classes of the Pune or play on words, which all students at the Fools’ Guild are expected to commit to memory on pain of pain. The sacred and time-honoured art is currently taught at the Guild School by Cloistered Clown Brother Frere.
It is known that the Patrician’s artistic sensibilities can be irritated by excessive or particularly egregious use of the Pune or play-on-words, which, if the Mail Order business is anything to go by, he places in the same category of offense as mime artistry or abstract modern art.”

Maybe we should cut them some slack(s), it’s probably in their jeans.

    Don’t worry, I’ll zip it.

What is a good BB to buy with replaceable bearings? All I know is that it’s just about impossible to do with Shimano ones!

“replaceable bearings” – good call…if the BB stays tight.

“Threadless BB” – were both on Hollowtech, and I’m not giving up my M960!

If you want to know what it was you either need to sketch it, annotate the sketch and upload it for us to look at, or, maybe check out a silhouette chart for an ID.

There is a known weak point at the bushing on the end of the front wheel linkage…. I forget what it’s called. Lowest horizontal component with rubber bush at end.

God I love our Yaris :)
