You can 100% fly to Geneva/ Morzine with an ebike, however you can’t take the battery on a plane, we drove last month and took our mates betterer and charger. (North Shields Netherlands – Germany – Switzerland – France)
His bike and gear ended up being over weight without these items.

I’ve done the trip as a foot passenger many many times and can confirm it’s basically a party on the water.

Thanks guys, Dfds website sounds like they just want proof of vaccine but the Dutch travel site the confusing bit, I was going to give them a call but the line is 13p a minute.
I’ve gone from the north east via Dover and it’s a pig of a journey, on the way there your always exited to ride so it’s not too bad, on the way back it’s a painful journey from Dover.

I fitted one of these a couple of weeks ago, the video left me confused too so I called fast and spoke to Fabien, he was super helpful and explained that you don’t need to remove the lowers, they did that to show the bleed process as it was more convenient for the video, he explained that you should bleed the fork.

Fitting the kit was super easy, unscrew top up oil, fit new cartridge, and bleed.

I ordered one of these ( eBay 191814665996 ) used an inch of pipe on a syringe like in the video, I ordered the same Rockshox 5wt oil that came in my new Revelations ( eBay 283904752489 ) to top up the cartridge, before refitting I checked the oil level in the fork, and in the syringe, my cart definitely took a bit more oil while cycling the forks and twirling the dials.

He told me the base settings where 14 clicks each dial.

Op is probably sorted now but I thought I’d add this for anyone searching the net for info.

I’m the end I ordered the Tuscan teal, the black looked ace but matte black can look beat up pretty quickly, I’ve been gathering bits for a while so I should be able to buooitnwhen the frame arrives.

Can anyone tell me how thick the rear brake mount is? I’ll need some mount bolts.

    Thanks Jamesmio.
I popped up to Bird HQ today and sat on a large, even with the seat slammed forward it was too big so I’m going M/L, I was quite taken with the black, it looks a little cheap in the pics imho, but a right weapon in the flesh, the bike was the press bike from Mtbr so I assume it’s had a life already, so far Bird have been really helpful and I have a little warm feeling about the Forge.

How tall are you and how are you getting on with it, how is the paint wearing, how it climbs and descends? That sort of thing.

Thanks, I read that but looking for some more recent info, I’d expect a few on here have had a nice summer with their Forge, or had a mate with one.

I was on the original ones, zero issues, the bearing lasted better than Hopes I’ve had and the engagement made going back to Hope feel like a downgrade, My Hope/511 rims are top draw and I’d confidently ride them down anything, but I did the same runs on the Hunts.

Hunt changed the profile and alloy, trail and enduro are V2 now, it’s not a fair comparison if you had the originals imho.

Have you checked out Hunt wheels? I ran a set for 2 years hammered them round Finale two years on the trot with no issues, I also Have Hope on EX511 but I’ll be putting Hunts on my next bike.

I’ve hit the button on some 2021 150 Revelation, same chassis as the Pike, I ran some on a 2018 P7 and they are acceptable, if I want to upgrade the damper to ULT I can,
£297 shipped from Star bike so I’ll get a £100 ish customs bill.

Nice, I went for a large, the reach of the large with 160 os similar to my Sentinel so I’m confident it will fit well.

I was thinking about 150, Revelation or Yari as a happy medium.

The more I think on it we may do Switzerland for a few days and pop over to Le Thuile, and Aosta, I was thinking of hiring a camper But I’ll have to see, Zermatt and Verbier looks sweet, I’ve spent a good bit of time in Champery so not to bothered about that part, Davos is also a geed shout.
I could really do with some clarity on travel restrictions, I paid £109 for a flight with bags and bikes and I’d be heart broken to miss my annual bike holiday, 8 of my other mates have cancelled and given up but I really need an adventure after working all the way through lockdown and not doing anything exciting since Jan.

Hi @Tracey I Love both Pila and La Thuile, these are both options, we where supposed to be going there but it’s looking unlikely, I’d prefer to stay in Switzerland, of at least stay out of France.

My Hunt trail wide’s arrived the other day, they look superb! I love the Lazer etched graphics, the whole package looks great for the money.

I decided to go with the trail wide, mainly because of cost, plus thy come with spares tape and valves which is handy, the new ones are the same ally as Stans so I’m not too worried, I did think about Enduro wide but im 12.5st and ride lite, I really didn’t want the extra weight.

La Thuile, it’s lovely, best Marmots i’ve Seen too, the best riding round Morzine isn’t in Morzine.

Sadly they come on too steep, and more often than crc for similar.

I thought they had it wrong like, my mk3’s lasted well, i creased one on a drainage ditch on the B Dale bash but it wasn’t the rims fault, it was years n years ago I asked about rims here and everyone was stans stans stans, Stan has done me wall, from Sunday pootles to world cup DH tracks, thinking about other rims makes me feel like a cheater lol
I wonder if the Hunt hype is just that, however the price is good.

    Ahhhh wheel dilemma

I talked to Moonglu a few weeks ago, but they where expensive for DT hope builds and told me the Flow mk3 was discontinued for the Ex3 which is significantly heavier.
CRC are doing Hope Pro4 on Stans Flow Mk3 for £426 so I may go with what I know, is the xm481 comparable to the Flow?

The camping field looks to be under water at the moment, flash floods, not looking good.
