Is that Bill Bailey in a cowboy hat in the opening scene?

After putting on some last week I wasn’t expecting any good news this week. Not the best of weeks again but somehow still managed to lose 1.1kg. Really pleased and surprised with that.

I wear shorts all year round, we’ve not had a proper cold winter for yonks!

Me too! People are surprised that I don’t actually own a pair of everyday trousers, but do own several pairs of shorts. I had to go and but some trousers and a shirt for Lyanda’s funeral, although everybody expected me to be there in shorts.

There have been a fair amount of rule changes since I last mot’d a car.

Sorry, been a hectic and stressful few days. Lots of worries on my mind on top of this.

Engine light now comes on intermittently, it is blowing out smoke, its using a considerable amount of oil and the water is very murky. There has been also a burning smell every now and again over the past few weeks which comes and goes, not sure if it’s related or not.

The car in the main is being used for shortish journeys and can sit there for a few days without moving. But after initially finding the mayo, I have been to stevenage and back to see Lyanda’s family so had had a decent run and a few longer journeys since and it’s definitely gotten worse.

The power steering is playing up too, sometimes doesn’t work at all and is generally very notchy. Fluid level is good, tried bleeding it several times but still the same.

As gutting as all this is, I think the cost to sort it all out is going to be quite high and not sure if it will be economical to do, especially with the mot in a few weeks and not knowing what else they might find.

1.5kg again this week! Honestly wouldn’t thought I’d lost anything, but that’s pleasantly surprised me. Next week hopefully will be a better week and I’ll actually start doing stuff.

Not had a good week at all this week but we’ll see what happens tomorrow. At worst I’m hoping to be the same as last week, but pretty doubtful. Be nice to see some sort of loss though.

Thanks everyone, will have a look into those. In all fairness the sealey Pro set I have now have lasted 20 odd years so not too bad. Just wandered what was worth a look. Will hopefully get some ordered next week when I have some money.

Lost 2.9kg this past week, I know its mostly water retention but I’m impressed. Haven’t actually done anything either yet, just cut back on the snacking. Hoping to start doing stuff this week though.

    Thanks Rob.

Just weighed myself 😲 Not the heaviest I’ve been but pretty accurate to what I’ve been telling people I’ve put on over the past few years through comfort eating (especially the last 18 months). I’m by far the biggest chub there lol.

Conservative target put in but hopefully a bit more too. Just hope I have the motivation to do this now, I know I need to 🤞

Yeah, 409 are the old skool forks. I had one and they are great forks. Any idea what spring you have in there?

Sending PM now, thanks. Hope my heads in the right place for it this year, I really do. Could do with losing a fair bit with the amount I’ve piled on, especially over the past 18 months.

Malvern rider appeared Monday evening, unicycle in hand. Had a couple of beers with him and had a good chat til the early hours.

What can I say, the unicycle went down much better than expected. Will be putting pedals on it in a bit, but he’s already been on it trying to get his balance. More pics to follow once he gets it outside.

Massive thankyou to @lunge for the unicycle and @malvern rider for making a stupidly long journey to bring it here.

Sorry guys, literally just seen this now. Thanks for the offers again, still really appreciate them.

You wouldn’t believe the past week I’ve had, it’s spun me right out and now I’m completely wrecked 😔

Haven’t got one I’m afraid but I got one for a friend’s kids bike the other week from halfords, £1.69 or £1.79 depending on type.

Mine is pretty simple compared to some but is a major undertaking for myself. I have to somehow change things and improve my day to day life, I’m stuck in a rut and have been for the past year and a half.

Not resolutions as such, but my aims are:
    snack less and lose weight
    stop smoking
    become less of a recluse
start swimming and using the gym
    get out and ride

These all seem to go hand in hand, it’s a general lifestyle change. All I need is the motivation each morning and I think I’ll be OK. Sort of.

Thanks all for your kind words and support. I finally finished it this afternoon. Still got a pile of stuff of Lyanda’s to go through, but 3 bin bags, 4 recycling bags and 2 charity bags later its done. Pretty much empty now so got somewhere to hide Xmas presents from the kids. Guess now I need to start looking. Yay.

    @mrovershoot
offers still there if you need or want a chat. Just take it all slowly and a step at a time, that seemed to work for me over the past 18 months. Yes there have been lots of moments of panic, dread and exhaustion etc, but they do ease a bit as you learn to cope and manage it.

    @lunge

Do you ever head east much?

Not normally but can make a trip if it makes it easier. Cardiff is an hour ish away from here and could do there and back while they are all in school, depending if there’s something on would dictate the days free though. Thankyou again for the offer, I was only asking for information and some help, very kind of you to offer one and it is really appreciated.

Regarding his size, he has a 31″ inside leg measurement.

@lunge sounds perfect, thank you very much for the offer. Unfortunately I’m down in Carmarthen and with everything happening with the 4 of them in school leading up to Xmas I don’t think I’d be able to get up to you. Thanks again though.

No, it says discount applied on black Friday items already.

The charitable Yeti has arrived to help turn this big retail week towards something good by putting a little bit back too.

For the last week of our #winwinter midseason sale we’ve added a heap of new additions into our Black Friday FUNDraiser week, including 15% off all Sonder mountain bikes.

Good way of putting it jamj, thanks. Didn’t sleep too well last night but feeling OK this morning. Had a look in the cupboard after the kids went to school, mixed feelings. Really pleased at the progress but still emotional. Hoping I can get it done by the weekend, a couple of days to go without pushing myself too much.

    gnusmas

It’s been more emotional than difficult but getting through it slowly. Stopped before getting the kids from school though. Hope I’ve still got the will to carry on tomorrow, be nice to get it sorted and it’s another thing done. Binned/bagged for charity/recycled everything not relevant or needed and got a pile of stuff to go through now.

It’s the little things like all of her make up and nail stuff. Lyanda couldn’t do much so she sat up in bed doing her nails and make up over and over again. Just memories of day to day things, nice to remember but sad knowing there won’t be anymore like it.

Thanks. Was listening to some random music earlier to try and make it more bearable, not long after posting earlier our wedding song came on. Not the best of days but a sort of productive one in the end.

Don’t think mine is turned in, but would definitely be a boring big red dot around Carmarthen. Only one or two exceptions over the past couple of years.

Edit – it is turned on, have to use the computer to do a longer timescale. From what I’ve seen, it’s not very spotty like yours Matt
