Inners was perfect today (I mean brilliant!) , mate did the black at GT on Friday, lots of fallen trees, made it to the mast then big snow drifts and ended up doing the spooky woods decent.

If its a black grade your after go to inners. G

Lecht – maybe rather than going straight for the flame, why don't you be a little more subjective. FFS we've all had kit fail. I think CB stuff is nicely designed, works well and 2pure are pretty good to deal with re warranty issues.

What were the problems? Every – all – products have issues. Not one firm hasn't been up on this board. You should know better – I've seem your bike pics, don't tell me they don't get hammered and stuff breaks – boo hoo

5spots frames are on sale just now with £500 off RRP, so that would leave way more than enough to build up a great trail bike.

Exactly what I've just done, new frame then some carefully selected parts mainly from the classifieds – (thanks to all)

Would still leave you a enough cash for a decent holiday!

Thats a bit lame really, not much of a business model that!! I'm sure the caving community wouldn't react well to hearing about that level of customer service.

I've never seen one used in a shop, it seems only bored office worker/internet surfers in their 30/40s buy them.

    you got one then, Al?

Thanks for the input, I would keep it but the new build means one in one out!!

Anyone after a Burner bargain, keep yours eyes on the classifieds in a few days time when the DW turns up!!

Fancy something with a bit more bounce and if I'm honest I'm quite – sturdy. So i reckon the extra weight isn't going to make such a difference.

I love that Burner but can't really afford to keep it as a second bike thats not going to see much use. Anyone want a really good cond Burner?

This year will see more trips North to Laggan / Fort bill etc so I think the spot will make for a great travel companion.

Forks: Are 2010 Magura Thors – not as big as a lot of Forks going on the DW spots but they are what I've got. They should help keep the weight down.

If you remove the o-ring from the air valve cap, it makes the FCR lever/cable work much snapier which in turn makes the lock down process easier.

    If that make sense…

May be worth sitting outside the Fort tower blocks for a couple of hours. Thats where my bike turned up and its just round the corner from Tiso's.

    1" steerer tube?

    too slow – FAIL

Ok, I've upped the pressure. Ive had a wee look under the FCR cap and can see the 20mm socket at the top of the air chamber. If I want to add oil is just a case of:

de-pressurise, unscrew, add oil, redo 20mm socket and reinflate?

Will the FCR gubbins not get in the way? I guess I don't want to FUBAR a brand new set of forks, so a little wary. Jools, do your set of forks have the travel adjust?

    Gnnr

I think I heard that as well.
The oil will eventually end up in the other (lower) air chamber and cause even more dive?

I guess its over to the Magura forum with this one.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to try and get a clear idea of my position in case of a warranty claim. Chances are that things will get resolved in the case of a claim.

I have since spoken to the ebay seller (yes its the cheap Durin/Brake guy), his comms are ace. He said worst case scenario would be return to the US but reckons the international warranty should be ok. Either way the substantial saving was worth the risk.

JB if you come across the new Magura UK details post it up.

    Cheers, G

I guess that for the price, roughly half UK costs. They are worth the gamble, lets hope so!

Kind of agree with carlsog, 2.5K for a wedding shot on a digital SLR is a peetake. I don't care how long you spend on photoshop afterwards. Its not exactly rocket science and I run a digital print & design company. I guess you have to be confident to command those prices.

Its not even like you have to shoot polaroid any more, its all on a high res screen right in front of you. If its poor you delete and repeat. Not even any lab processing or film cost these days.
Professional Advertising guys get paid less and are truly skilled. I did my time working for them. My advise shop around, don't think that by paying more you are guaranteeing a better outcome.

DO: remember to have the best day of your lives!

PS. The ad guys I worked for bought the client lunch!

Hey Jools, how long did your forks take to clear customs? I bought some as well from the same seller, they have been in customs since the 10th Jan.

Did the seller under rate the value of the forks? As £11 duty seems really good. I've got my fingers crossed for a similar result!!

Got a Dell Mini10, its a nice machine as a supplement to a main desktop. Not sure if I would like to to use it standalone. A external dvd drive would be necessary. Good for surfing the net in the lounge or when Mrs G is hogging the main PC… like now!
