thanks for the feedback – I reckon I may well give this a go.
I’ve had the same experiences as you ‘pastcaring’ with the RP23 – done the shim mod, it works but its not ideal, was thinking either coil or low vol air sleeve for the RP23.

Any idea what the reliability is like of SH coil shocks? I’m guessing its better than an air can as not quite the same pressure on seals etc.

Anyone got a coil shock for sale…?

[/quote]did Greg sort it in the end ?

Yes, I took your advice and called Turner direct. Greg was really good to deal with, the custom colour option was great and its nice to see good customer care in action.

whereas I rode the Trans Provence (350km of the rockiest badassed riding in Europe) with a UST RQ 2.2 on the back with no punctures. It’s a funny old world.

The UST version is fine, its heavier, so I can only suppose this helps it with pinch flats. I’ve run both. I prefer the UST version. It was fine.

Tis a funny old game etc etc.

I’ve got a Non UST 2.2 rubber queen with black chilli as my back tyre.
Its REALLY prone to pinch flats.

I think its because its so thin, Cont dropped the sidewall protection thats in the 2.4 version to loose weight on the 2.2.

I’ve not been that impressed, I’ve never had so many flats with any other tyre. Good front tyre though as its got loads of grip on wet rock and the usual surface found at GT etc.

Certainly feel like it. Woeful customer service in the UK from silverfish. Emails don’t get answered (or at least not quickly), the girl who answered the phone didn’t want to know.

Not bashing Turner as the small spare part I sent from the US arrived really quickly. Just surprised at how poor the UK service is. Anyone else had any luck dealing with Silverfish?

2009 5Spot – Taco weld is failing, slowly, but those cracks are slowly growing.

Part of the reason I got it was Turner’s “Legendary” CS.

Forgot that i don’t actually live in the states.

I’ve got a Turner Burner (Lg, black) frame, with RP23 shock and new bush kit fitted. I thinks it’s somewhere in-between the flux and a 5spot. Great all day ride.

Email in profile if your interested. Looking for £375 + post.
That will include the RP23, salsa QR.

I use a presta to schrader converter as a valve cap on one of my wheels. This means you can use a forecourt air hose if in town.

Out on the trail I use it to avoid the bent presta valves, they do indeed appear to be made from cheese. The adaptor is a couple of quid from LBS.

Spokebloke, I bought a Wonderbike Onethelight “Marrow” last year, direct from Jay of Wonderbike. Lovely guy to deal with… however the light I bought is more or less identical to a DX Bastid unit.

Surely he has just had the Magicshine Units re badged as his own, he lives in the same city etc.
On the plus side the battery bag supplied is much better than the DX bag. This may be a moot point with the new battery design.

He is very convincing that the lights are not Magicshine’s re-badged but having used both I can’t help but think he’s in bed with them on some level.

If I was concerned about warranty I would still purchase from you, just not sure about the spraff that its in anyway different from the new DX model.

I ride mainly round the Peebles area so, Glentress & Innerleithen, the occasional trip up north.

If I'm being realistic its 90% man made scottish trail centres, 10% natural trails. Not really into swapping tyres around so looking for the best all rounder.

There's a £15 difference between the two, leaning towards the Maxxis.
Is the 2.25 Ardent wider than the RQ 2.2?

Did you get your forks fixed Hora?

I had my 2k FSR recovered from the Fort a couple of years back. Its a number one hot spot in Leith for stolen bikes. Should'nt be too hard for plod to grab that one.

    Keep us posted.
