I have a Passubio you would be welcome to dissect! Would be great if it could be turned into a more useful lamp especially for the helmet mount as it doesn’t weigh much.

Don’t think the lumi conversion would work without some tweaking beyond my ken…

Parts + Beer tokens offered for any work done 😆

try http://www.cycle-world.co.uk Chris offered me a very good deal on Hope Hoops + Flows, saving my pennies for them.

Seems like a all-round good STW trader too.

You have my sympaties as well!
I’m in the same boat, suffer from muscle ‘spasms’ which are very painful. I went to a chiropractor first (waste of money in my case) then to a Osteopath who has been very good.

Now going to a weekly Pilates class which I think is beginning to show results (not a quick fix), my core feels stronger and the last episode has felt less intense.

Keep moving, go to the docs and Osteopath. Stretching and core work once the pain has died down. Hope you feel better soon.

Bought my 5spot frame from CRC’s sale last year. Took out a Tesco credit card at 0% for 12months, set up DD to cover the cost.

Its the only large value purchase I have ever really made. Fancied shiny new with a warranty. Was well worth it as the frame craked 6mths later!

Paid off within the interest free period. Bit of a hassle but worth it for a one of purchase.

Thanks Northwind I guess that’s my dilemma, it’ll have to be one fork in, one fork out… otherwise Mrs G will go mental.

Currently looking at the RevXX at Merlin for £440 its not got the Black Box gubbins. I don’t think any of their 150mm forks have the BB only motion control.

I’m assuming that will be good enough and I can upgrade the damping later if I really feel the need.

Thanks for the response, all food for thought.

The Lyriks are coil U-Turn, riding mainly at Glentress and Inners, some further afield long Scottish days out and the odd trip to Laggan.

The bike is a DW 5spot and I know it suits the 150mm length almost perfectly. I tried some 140mm forks (Thors = rubbish/divetastic) on it to start with but it was too twitchy with loads of pedal strikes. The Lyriks have been great for everything but long grinding climbs are painful. I can’t help thinking that the bike would really benefit from losing a couple of lbs.

With the 10% of at Merlin I can afford some new forks without breaking the bank.
Are 150mm revelation’s with a 20mm axle really that noodlely?

Thanks for the replies, its a 2010 frame so I’m assuming the hardware is up to date.

I guess I’ll strip it down / re-grease at the weekend and see if that helps.
Might try the hole mod if all else fails.

Coogan – has yours been ok since fitting the new hardware?

Might be worth checking the warranty first. if it isn’t international then I would pony up for the UK version.

£45 per trip to 2pure soon adds up. They’re not the most reliable bits of kit and I would value the 2yr warranty.

    *EDIT – Beaten to it*

I called Turner direct to find out what was going on with my warranty claim, it had been a while.

They offered me a colour choice to sweeten the deal, and sent me a new rear arm as well – brilliant. Really chuffed.

Just make sure that you run a longish seat post as the taco weld can fail on the 2009 model, the weld isn’t filled in all the way round. I ran a joplin that had been shortened a little by its previous owner. It was still within “min” insertion depth but the weld started to crack… fairly sure that if you run a full length post it’ll be fine.

Having said all that Turner’s customer care was ace (once finally contacted direct) and sent me this as a replacement:

since bought a new full length Joplin from CRC’s sale. Ace bike, hope you enjoy yours.

Thanks for that, was scratching my head looking for them.

Whats the procedure for relubing then? Grease the wiper seals and add the oil to the lower legs – finished?

Or should I wipe some float fluid around below the wiper seal?

Thanks ourmaninthenorth – very useful. I’m waiting to hear back to see if they can produce anything that was signed.

I very much doubt it! I will be intouch re the letter if necessary. Thanks for the kind offer.

Just tell them you’ll abide by any signed contract they can produce

Thats what I was thinking, is it 100% correct though.

Nothing will give me greater pleasure than telling them to “**** off” politely.

Thanks pastcaring, I’m using a 700lbs spring just now and would like to try a 650lbs or as close as possible to see what difference it makes to the ride.
