If you can send me a quick picture to confirm the bit you need, I’ll check my parts bin. Have some spares from an old burner frame. Think the bushes are the same size. G 😉

Hi Mark, I’m running an old but servicable REBA race at 115mm.
Stem is a 90mm sunline job. With f’n huge sunline bars (cheap at CRC).

I like the bike but it doesn’t feel very “flickable”.
Standover is a lot lower than my full sus.

At 6foot3″ in your stocking soles your quite a bit bigger than me tho!

Sorry for the hijack… Trout did you get my email re the Lumi SYS4, not sure if your getting my email OK. Cheers G.

Mugboo – that’s interesting, I have similar hopes for my Lumi sys4!

Just out of interest what did the Trout upgrade set you back?

Hey Tony, hope you don’t mind me referencing your MM blog. Nice write up/review, it was very influential in my light choice at the time.

I did contact Lumi last year, fairly sure it was around the £95 mark IIRC. I doubt if thats changed as their current light is still the XPG model.

If Trout can so anything with it I guess that would offer much more “bang per buck”… I’ll keep you posted!

Hi Trout, sorry I got my wires crossed…
Thought you meant a link to the upgrade offer.

I can’t find a link on Lumi’s page for the SYS 4 anymore.
Here is a link to a old review:
    LINKY – muddy moles

The head unit is based on 4 Cree XRE-R2 LEDs currently. I’d be Very interested in sending it your way if its an option. Cheers G

Hi Trout, not sure if there is a link but I did speak to them about an upgrade service, If I remember correctly they would put their latest LED’s (XPG) in my SYS4 for around £95.

They said it would need new LED’s and driver etc, (included in the £95 cost). Does this sound reasonable? I’m not sure if this would give me a comparable lamp, with one of the current systems out at the mo.

Another thumbs up for Porty! Not that run down these days.
We even have a Victor Hugo’s Deli now!! How Posh is that!

Agree it has a nice feel, close to “town” but easy to nip towards Peebles for singletrack.
Beach is a big benefit, Mrs G has got right into: RowPorty[/url]

I’m going to keep up with the back extension exercises – fingers crossed they start to pay off. Sounds like patience is key!!

allows you to import / export GPX files. Its great tho is limited to the amount of map searches it can do in one day.

Sometimes it reverts back to old OS maps.

Thanks Bob, that sounds fair enough. I’ll do my sums over the weekend and leave the interest out of the mix.

Just wanted to double check in case it was standard procedure.

I’ll ask about the discount though, perhaps as some small (+doubtful) recompense. Cheers G

My white 5spot was a ’09 model, replaced with a 2010 updated version.

You can easily tell by the “Taco” brace used on the 09 + 10 version.
Anything newer has the solid “burrito” brace with is more square looking.

Its quite possible that there was a white version made in the current format – maybe cheaper as its painted vs anodized..?

I have work done at Henderson’s Powdercoating before.
It was ok, not brilliant was quite expensive and I didn’t really feel like I could trust them to mask all the threads and pivots properly.

Next time I think I might try this lot:

Your milage may vary. Hope it helps.

1)On-One’s tyre sales – £20 Nobby Nics were a bargain.

2)My WTB SST Ti railed saddle lasted about 9years, just got another one.

    3) Paracetamol – 16p per packet (got minor man flu..)

IMHO its overpriced for the year and mileage.
I recently scraped a 2000 reg 2.0 9-5 estate, fuel costs were huge.

They do cost quite a lot to look after, the engines are good so the high miles shouldn’t be a problem. The turbo is a low pressure version unless the car is an Aero model.

If you could get the price down to £5-600 it would be a better buy. Stay clear at the asking price.

you do sound like you are making a mountain out of a molehill IMHO…
Its a classified forum – not one of your mates.

Stump up the £15 and move on, just one of those things.
Can’t really expect to have ownership of second-hand goods for over a month and then make a fuss when they fail.

I think its been a bit harsh on the seller, certainly doesn’t sound intentional.
