If you would consider SH my Santa Cruz 5010 is still for sale! Amazing bike for 2k… Just saying!

Or you could use biketart with 5% off for new customers, just register and you’ll get the code emailed to you. Works out £742. Prob safer when (if) it comes to warranties!

SOM yes they do… but no demo’s allowed at the moment, hence asking about any real world feedback… If there was ever a bike I felt needed a demo tghis is it.
Just can’t decide if it’s too much bike or not.
Can’t really afford the cash to get it wrong and don’t want to get stuck with a boat anchor for the next few years.
It does fit me well but not sure how well I’d cope with lugging it around on long days out.

Pics please – I’m toying with the idea of an alloy Bronson…
A final weight of the build would be good as well. 🙂

Will also keep a lookout! Which part of town are you in? I’m in Portobello but work up near craigmillar… Plenty of bikes up there that don’t look like they genuinely belong to their current owners. 🤔

It’s a standard 4 cell pack with an extension lead. I’ve been running it down to a backpack. I guess a 2 cell magic shine would work. Just southsh the run time. Cells seem like decent quality. Better than fleabay Chinese packs

Or you can buy an upgrade kit…
I bought this one like this:

Brings the wheels up to the current spec.

I’ve got the Garmin Touring Edge, it comes with Open Source maps that are really good, even off road.

I have a copy of the Garmin OS maps on the same mini sd card, the device allows you to choose which maps it uses on the fly, the OS ones are a little hard to follow on such a small screen so normally use the open source ones.

It does full turn by turn routing etc and it’s ace, use it all the time, think I paid around £150 for it.

Great as reassuarnce when out in the hills. Although like any GPS I’ll still pack a paper map when exploring proper hill country.

+1 for DougD. Can’t think of any reason his route isn’t trailer friendly, best traffic free route from the shore i can think of.

I had exactly the same problem just last week! Posh Miele frost free, self defrosting freezer etc. Suddenly wouldn’t hold a temperature less than -4.

I called a refrigeration engineer I know who mainly works on big hospital kit. He said to turn the whole thing off for at least 12hrs… It worked, slowly but surely regained its temp and seems fixed. My mate reckons that even frost free freezers need defrosted occasionally. I also cleaned the fluff at the back to help it recover.

    Hope this helps you too.

A taller fork would help a lot, I have the same bike and have found 150 revelations to be the sweet spot, I’m experimenting with fox 36 floats at the moment but reckon that they will need to be set to 150 due to the axle to crown height, I did have a set of 140mm travel forks to start with and I felt the bike was too steep.

    Wider bars will also help.

I’d like to know the answer to this too… Stw usually have a good suggestion / 2p worth.

I’m with Nation Wide at the mo and my policy is due to expire as well.

Thanks for the replies – it confirms what I suspected re the XX damper being light weight over function…

Loco – how much would a RLT or RCT3 damper cost to supply and is it a straightforward swap or does the rebound need done as well?
