I had an issue like this previously. Small bumo, scratch on the wing and alloy. No other damage. If your car went too a dealer they will issue lower arm, hub, alloy, tyre to be checked, suspension, new brake caliper, disc and pads plus more parts.. basically a full corners running gear. I was going too pay cash so I contested the original report and hired a private company too inspect the vehicle. Turns out they can screw you too.. I had a few parts removed from the list but they added a full steering rack! Went from 4k too 7k and I paid for a report too. Needless too say insurance were used in the end. But it made it a much longer process and I was liable for costs of the car the other party used whilst I got there car checked over too.

Id go a6 myself. Infact I did. I went for the 6 speed though over auto. Personal preference. Boot space is great for me. I bought the saloon too. No issue with bikes and shopping. Leg room is amazing even with ling drivers legs. Comfy as you like and my 3.0 tdi quattro still returns me 40mpg on the motorway. With my lead foot..

I thought it was 120mm. And IME On One will retain warranty with a 160mm fork. I ran a 160 Fox 36 on mine. No issues.

Yes. I had 32s on my Ti456 using a 180 hope rotor. 100-150 talas. There was alot of flutter under braking. Also extreme flex with or without lockout when riding out of the saddle.

Revs have thicker/wider stantions iirc so there will be less flutter.

    Ouch.

I would be reccomending contacting a builder for a tube replacement. I wouldn’t ride that personally.

    Got too agree here..

I’m 20, 3 years NCB and 1 year of full licence. Driving a 2.5 Petrol V6 Jaguar and my insurance is 1.6k Fully comp with all the extras included. No other named drivers or anything. 15,000 miles a year SDPC and 90 days european cover.

I thought I’d done the same..

But I unplugged my PS4 from the power supply after holding the power button too turn it off and then touched the power button too turn it on and it worked for me. Got a video of it failing…

Yep, like the Hope bar (which I’ve paid for in July expecting a September delivery) it’s been delayed too Q1-2 2014.

Plug it in if you can. On mine it was a early warning of death. Something I wish I’d paid attention too.

First thing I’d check though would be plugs into steering wheel. Work cheap then move too hard. Scrap button and bag unit from a breakers will only be 10-20 and then I’d try the fuse. As CC fuse is behind the glovebox. And can be a bitch to replace.

The first thing I do when I buy a car is get it serviced. Even if I’ve been told it’s just been serviced, safe is better than sorry.

Timing Chain replacement on my Mondeos was done before I bought the cars at a cost of around £800 each. I still have the reciepts too show that.

The Jaguar is at 104k so I’m going too have the chain checked at the main dealers. Expensive yes but I’m not totally sure what the change interval is on it.

The biking question was semi-theoretical by the way. I was more concerned about peoples experiences of reliability and comfort, as a mile muncher I’ll be needing both of those.

Like I said. I’ve got a tracker box fitted too my current car that’s rated at 100-100-100-25 across the board. Speed, Acceleration, Braking and time of day driving. In that order. I’ve got absolutely no idea what it is about the car but it doesn’t behave for me. Never has and I doubt they ever will.

I understand the reason for your saying it sounds like I’m driving like a pillock but I’m really not..

I’ve used quite a few snow tyres last year espescially. I was working over the Holidays and right the way through winter and no matter what I bought the car didn’t want too go.

It’s the same in Rain though. I’ve tried everything from Super Soft Pirellis through too Brick-like Budgets and they all step out quite a bit at the same kind of speed.

I was generallising about my dislike of Diesels. I’ve driven a few Diesel cars and had problems with them all. With a range from a “R” reg Vectra through too a “63” plated Audi S3 with a few inbetween.

As for the prestige comment, Jaguar used too be a car giant in my eyes. I believe they still are, they may have bits of many other cars inside them but at the end of the day Jaguar is a Prestige brand and that’s what I wanted.

    Cheers for the replies guys!

The Jaguar was bought as the price was right, I like the cars and enjoy the prestige of it.

I don’t have a particularly heavy foot. I use a tracker box on my insurance and have for the last Three years.

My Mondeos died due too my 1.8 having a faulty oil light. Basically it dropped it all on some Gravel and I didn’t notice until 5m later and it decided the next day too drop a crank bearing.

The 2.0 died I have no idea how.. I turned off the engine picking up a co-worker. Restarted it and it snapped a rod according too my local garage who have pulled the engine apart. Not been able too go and see it yet.

I have been using Mondeos for a while now and economy on my 1.8 was around 35 combined but the 2.0 is a genuine 22 combined average. It was an automatic however, this is all I can pin the lack of economy down too. Putting out £250 a week in Petrol is crippling me so I decided a new car was in order.

AWD was an essential factor as I live just off of Woodhead and as some of you will know there is a lot of snow up here.

It’ll be doing alot of Motorway miles down the M62 corridor as my Family are in Liverpool and work send me too Hull every few weeks, aswell as many other places inbetween.

I’ve avoided Diesels as I know many people who have problems with them. Also I don’t like that you see alot of TDCi’s that are coughing out ALOT of smoke even brand new ones.

Yeah, I’ve always had too take both wheels off in both of my cars. So I’m used too it. 🙂

Do X types carry a bag of Golf clubs in the boot too? As it’s something I occasionally do in my spare time.

Also I got 1 bike in very easily too my Mondeo. Multiple XC bikes and a DH bike.. so I’m not worried about boot space too much. It was more a question on the sensibility of it. Biking if needs be I can get a rack. It was the driving milage-comfort level that I wasn’t too sure about.

Essentially but it was the 2.5V6 engine that was a part of the appeal. I’ve blown 2 of the I4 engines in Mondeos. A 1.8 and a 2.0 but I enjoy the feel of a Mondeo too drive. Hence the side-grade.

Nice car and the wheel refurbishment is common on newer fords. They tend too bubble up after 2-3 years now.

Check the back of your license. At the top it should say A1 A2 and A iirc. With pics of bikes on there. If it does and has no dates its got entitlements. I have a full car license and I have too redo my CBT as it lapsed and I just bring my paper and plastic license and I’m good too go.

If your not dead set on Magic the Halo SAS rims are pretty good. Also the Sun MTX. The nukeproof generator rims are re-stickered mtx too. Pretty good prices too. MTX are bombproof 100%. I put mine through huge abuse and they didn’t even untrue or flat spot. I’m your weight also.

Me either mate. The c456 was my first plastic bike. In all honesty they are stupidly strong.

Since then ive been converted. If you can get a ride on the c456 and don’t mind the marmite looks its tied for the best modern bike ove ridden with my ti456

Im 17ish stone and owned a ti and carbon 456 and both have been faultless.

Used the carbon with a Thomson and Reverb. No problems with either. Only issue I had was xtr arms felt slightly flexy. Swapped too saint and not a problem.

And I would take the V10 everytime. Despite the Hei Hei being one of the best looking bikes available imo.

Think RAC do a warranty package. Alternatively I’d say chat too Ford.

If the better specced one has a fsh and everything else I’d say drive it before you make any decisions. I’ve been stuck before on dealer cars that have gone sour and the dealers haven’t honoured the warranty period given.

Dont have a lbs as such here any more. But when I did I always found I was treated in a different way too the middle aged men who just blow cash on a bike they dont ride.

Recently it has been at jejames in Rotherham. One of the managers was being really obstructive and unhelpful whilst I was trying too look at the Orange5 and Alpine frames.

I came back the next weekend and got the same treatment so I decided too see how they would react if I brought my bike. He was completely different when I walked in with my Ti456.

I use a super firm mattress and sleep on top of the duvet under a cover. Makes the world of difference too sleeping under the duvet.
