glupton, i like the idea of a layback seatpost, if they can take pressure off the knee, what are they usually used for?

They are usually used to get your arse further away from the stem when you’ve bought a bike that’s too small for you and is giving you knee problems. ;)

I find that a Maxx-D is perfect for riding on the road at night.

Bike is potentially too small for you. Try putting the saddle back on its rails, failing that try a layback seat post, so that you’re not having to bend your knee as much. The bend in your knee will be putting more pressure onto your femur via your knee cap and causing pain there. The medial knee pain might be related.

“Yeah so the builders are a right bunch of bastards – scalpel! – trying to rip us off and saying the job – forceps! – would take three months and we were like – nurse, hold that bit there – three months, but we go to the Bahamas in 2, you’d best be finished by then – 2cc of adrenaline – so we’ll see.”

It’s probably because they are very good at what they do and are completely relaxed in that environment rather than anything else.

My kids will all be getting new brake cables in their bikes. Could have done with them having the pear ends on them as none of my bikes use the drum style.

It really is tough to decide which one of the present Tories is the most deserving of the first slap/punch/assault with bombers/bullet.

Nah – to keep in line with their cost cutting policies I’d line them up so that one shot could take as many of them out as possible. Thankfully scottish independence will rid us of that lot forever.

Depends if it gets into the electrics and screws up the ecu.

My point is that the ecu issue is no reason to assume the car will cost me more money down the line.

Your point is incorrect. That is not a safe assumption to make.

That must have taken some doing. I’d be claiming off them for the damage. Yes they might only provide “insurance” upto a certain value, but they also have to provide an adequate level of service – which they have clearly failed to do here. If they are not willing to play ball, go down the small claims route.

Id be surprised if you could get it dry enough to burn if it’s sitting the ground.

You might be surprised how stubborn I can be with jobs like that.

When is stupidity NOT involved in car accidents?

    This – exactly this.

This won’t necessarily be obvious when driving in a queue and concentrating on the cars immediately in front.

The idea that the roads are full of people concentrating on the car in front scares me. Doesn’t surprise me, and it certainly explains a lot, but it scares me a lot. For **** sake look about half a mile further up the road than the car in front and you’ll see things coming….

What possible use could building up strength on one arm have?

I can see benefits to that bike for people who have diminished power and proprioception in an arm following a stroke. Good bit of kit.
