I may have won my kids race, whilst crossing the line backwards wondering where everyone else was. But then I do wear trackies and trainers every time they see me at the school.

*The camera is WIDE-ANGLED and on the left of the car so its not always obvious how much room I gave the cyclists – in ALL cases it was more than 3ft!

3ft is too small a gap. Over the other side of the road would be far more appropriate – you know like what folk do with horses.

How many handles on a pair of handlebars?

They have changed entry in the highway code in the last couple of years then. You learn something every day.

I’d hazard a guess that the cyclists were doing more than 10mph though. 😉

“I didnt see you” is always met with “you didnt see me because you didnt look” when someone doesnt bother their arse to look properly.

Right – couple of things – I was seeing the cyclist at the same time as the count started, if not before. My eye sight is not the best. I have crap eye sight in one eye – think the top level of the chart at the opticians. If I can see it then you should all be seeing it too.

The driver was clipping solid white lines and was passing too close to the cyclists he was overtaking. And there were also sitting too close before the overtake.

Those cyclists would however be more visible and less liable to be overtaken closely if they would just stop riding in the **** verge.

@Jambalaya and glupton – But I’m not trying to lose stones, just a few pounds.

In that case eat a wee bit less and exercise a wee bit more. 😀

Is your pain on a definite spot over the bony bit on the outside of your elbow or is it more spread out than that? True tennis elbow is a very localised pain.

Aye – thanks for that. I was waiting until the highlights tomorrow and you’ve only gone and spoiled it. :sob :sob :sob. I hate you :flounce. 😉

Indeed. Can you imagine someone driving a car onto a football pitch (for example), driving into one of the players and knocking him at 30mph into a barbed wire fence?

Not really, but to be fair they’d have to knock the footballer a lot further to make them hit a barbed wire fence.

Make two fists – put the back of each fist against each other then whilst keeping the fists together try and get your elbows as far apart as possible.

    couple of things then.
The Stumpjumper is a hardtail, not full suss. Did it have rear suspension?
130mm sounds a bit long for a stumpjumper. Sure it was a Stumpjumper?

Looks like full sus to me..

If he’s already on benefits, it shouldn’t be too much bother to find him a wee cooncil flat and get housing benefit too (never mind the rights and wrongs).

That’s the funniest thing i’ve ever read on here.

They make a hell of a bang when they go. Had it happen at 30 odd mph on a twisty down hill once. Pat my shants.

Have seen a clip of that crash – it didn’t look a severe crash. Driver was apparently speaking to the medics after the crash. Wonder what the full story is going to turn out to be.

Horrible situation for all involved though.

Milky – you and me been watching the same crash here?

I have a set of campagnolo wheels that must have done upwards of 50000 miles by now. Ridden in all weathers and the bearings are still as smooth as the day i bought them. Just recently had to replace the pawls and a pawl spring but that is it.

Congrats on shedding 2 1/2 stone btw, since you weren’t that hefty to begin with IIRC.

I got a bit hefty and am probably still a stone heavier than the last time you saw me.

I lost 2 1/2 stone in a couple of months by eating less and moving more. I’ve kept it off too. No fad diets.

How can seemingly otherwise intelligent people fall for this guff?

I do ride with my forearms fairly horizontal most of the time so probably not too far off. Anyway, shall use it for it’s intended purpose soon enough

That’s not what i asked. You probably do not steer your road bike with your elbows.

Edit: As an example here’s my turbo setup, there’s a good 20cm saddle to bar, and I’m happy on that for hour after mind numbing hour…

You don’t ride your road bike with your elbows on the handle bars though do you?
