Edinburgh City Council can hardly be considered cash strapped. They’re spending a billion quid on a tram system which they forecast will run at a loss. Ohhhhh.

You’ve recovered well fella. I could see how much you love riding bikes and anything that I could do to help I was more than happy to do.

Best of luck on your ride and keep going with the rehab.

We often report speeders and short-cutters in our street.

Why report people who are taking a short cut.

Think you’re barking up the wrong tree, they’ll probably just leave it, the bunch of saps. This may be followed by a root and branch investigation, but they probably cant see the wood for the trees.

That must have been a dare or a bet. Nothing else would be excusable.

Apparently he spent all day outside on his bike today again – teaching himself how to wheelie. 😀

You say you prefer smaller frames. Does that mean that you want a compact frame that fits rather than a traditional frame that fits? Or would you prefer a compact frame that is too small?

Is it a case of cables stretching or is it a case of outers etc becoming compacted?

Explain to me exactly what you want this tool to do? I have never even thought about using pliers for any cable on a bike other than for cutting or crimping.

Getting myself dirty would be just about as bad as not looking busy.

Before a Player can restart exercise they must be symptom free for a period of 24 hours (Level 1)

Not enough time for that. And that’s 24hrs for a return to exercise, not return to competition.

It’s all well and good plying on the hardman image, but there’s being a hardman and then there’s being hit on the head too many times.

Here is what the IRB has as guidlines for concussion.

Shouldn’t be down to the rider to decide if they are fit to race. They are after all concussed.

To approach it from a different angle – would you want to ride in a peloton with someone who had concussion?

its the arthritis that makes me hesitate, well that and the fact i have CMT that is progressively weakening my hands and feet which is why i love hydro disc brakes!

See when my missus treats patients with similar conditions, she aims to get them using “normal” kit for as long as possible. The rationale for this is that to keep using the minimal amount of external aids, you need to keep using “normal” kit for as long as possible. I follow the same approach with my patients.

Is it you who is saying this or them?

Hope you have a quick recovery.

I’m pretty sure that most of us could ride the distance of the TdF in less time than the race takes (including stops). I know I could with relative ease.

No I’d not be angry. Otherwise well mannered dogs bite people now and again. What annoys me is that the dog has been killed.

Sorry Glupton. You need to read what you just wrote.

I didn’t say it’s impossible to run a marathon barefoot. I think there’s a good chance you’d injure yourself either in training or the race itself, if you want to prove me wrong go ahead – it’s not my tendons, aponevrose, heel pads, knees, hips, muscles and back that will suffer.

I’d say, based on that comment, that you don’t understand the ground reaction forces involved in running in minimalist shoes.
