The perception of "far out, dude"

Exactly – he most definitely is a 'dude' and hence cool.

What's the best Conservative tyre to run dogs over with?

Anyone who looks like a Rottweiler or ___bull terrier should be chopped up and turned into dog food. In my opinion. IMHO to all those people who don't read words. Is it 'Humble' or 'Honest', I get confused easily?

Haha, yeah, how could you guess? It's all very serious isn't it? Plus no-one seems to like mountain bikes…

Fallout 3 – the slow mo killings are fantastic. As are the tackles in Fifa 10. Each to their own.

I'd gesture to the dog, then when it came up to me, just chop its head off with my gnarly hope mini mono rotor.

Then I'd learn to keep my dog/kids on a leash (yes, kids, on those daft harness things) and realise I'm not the centre of the earth, nor is my kid/dog and just learn to be courteous.

Can't we all just get along?

Too true, Bonham was a legend. Cinnamon Girl, cool Neil reference.

I would chop the heads off all dog owners and feed them to their dogs.

Then I'd go dogging on my mountain bicycle.

It is Friday night after all.

Gillan was a great singer, but what about the later stuff? Quite liked Burn too with Coverdale and Hughes.

I once chopped the head off a poodle with my 203mm rotor of my gnarly Intense Downhill Mountain Bike. It tried to bite my 8 inches of travel right off and I wasn't going to stand for it. I tried to shout it down but it just tried to lap up my headset grease.

I gave the owner a piece of my mind and then pulled a massive endo in his face – he won't be letting his dog off the leash again, let me tell you.

Yeah, Bonham is one of the greatest drummers of all time, some of the fills in 'Achilles' are unbelievable, made a lot of the songs what they are -'Dazed and Confuzed' just wouldn't be the same with anyone else. Oh, and instead of buying one of those daft carbon Scotts or Treks that people post about on here, check this out:

Can't believe no one has mentioned 'Nobody's Fault but Mine' or'Achilles Last Stand' – Presence is my favourite album, like a shorter, neater version of Physical Graffiti. Even if the first song is ten minutes long.

The youth of today eh? Have you never had 10 pints and then try and race your mate back from the pub? Loads of fun. 4 pints before a ride makes it feel like you're floating, even on a rigid singlespeed, at least until you get to the first hill.

Wheelies are pretty pointless too, but good fun.

For some hippedy hop: Edan – 'Primitive Plus', 'Beauty and the Beat.'

Guitars: fIREHOSE, 'Ragin' Full On', Flying the Flannel', in fact all of their albums are great. Best indie guitar band ever in my humble opinion. There's always Led Zeppelin though… 'Presence' and 'Physical Graffiti', pure class.

Any Hip Hop before 1990 is cool, rockin it oldskool.

It wasn't the bloke who bought £4 grip tape from Chain Reaction was it? I have my suspicions.

    £4 grip tape from CRC?

I never buy from shops, online or otherwise. I handcraft my grips from the skins of adders that have been run over when riding. They might not be fit for purpose come to think of it. But boy do I make them fit.

I use a sun dial strapped to my arm with £4 grip tape from Chain Reaction Cycles.

Insulating tape works. My dad used to put it on his Raleigh. Cheaper than £4 too. Everyone's a winner.

"The concept of bikers 'developing' a bit of woodland was unheard of. Now almost every bit of accessible woods has little trails snaking all over it."

Although it probably has got a lot more common most of the places I used to ride 10-15 years ago seemed to have been seen to by the local bikers at the time, we used to spend all weekend in the woods with our spades, and you could see all the biking trails where a lot of other people had been. I don't think much changes really, kids always go out on their bikes and some keep up the habit and others fall out of it. Some get back into it when they are older, (like many people on this forum). It's never been a cheap hobby though. £400 always bought you a decent entry level bike and it costs about the same now, more or less. I've just realised this post doesn't really have a point.

Aaah, this is taking me back, I might dust off the old rigid Rockhopper…
