Well, some people like the sound of their own voices, and like to stamp their opinions all over this forum. I say take it back. What about it people, take this forum back?

Pictures of nuclear bomb victims anyone? Preferably with a crisply ironed shirt.

Get a Hayabusa? It’s more fun, faster, plus you don’t have to watch out for dog walkers. Everyone is happy.

Noticed the Breath on ebay for £199 with £15 postage, very tempting.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled, had my Schwinn nicked from work a year back in the city centre, if I ever saw anyone on it there would be blood.

Looks quite distinctive that Maxlight, not too many about. Also, this may be obvious but keep checking Gumtree as the amount of stolen gear on there is astounding.

I’ve often thought of becoming a Dog the Bounty Hunter type character and visiting some of the scrotes on there.

    Take it back!

Ah, so the 00’s is can be defined as ‘The Death of the Album’ era.

Yeah, as great as it is being able to keep as many songs as you want on an mp3 player, it’s too easy to skip to your favourites and not give full records a listen. Double edged sword really?

Yeah, it probably is Coldplay, God indeed help us.

I really used to keep up to date with new music but realised I always go back to old music with more ‘quality.’ A lot of new albums you listen to you think sound great for the first two listens, and then realise they aren’t too great after all.

One other thing, I’d say that Hip-Hop was the defining sound of the 80’s, yeaaahh boyee. Not of this Gangsta nonsense of course, except NWA.

The 00’s to me seemed like largely a re-hash of music gone by, often watered down versions of exisiting music unfortunately.

Public services such as libraries are wonderful things, inclusive for evreybody and offer the opportunity for people to educate themselves without expense. If you haven’t been in a library for 18 years, I’d suggest having a look in one to see what they are about. They are essential services for a lot of people, the elderley, people with kids, even those who are just lonely and want to get out of the house. The cross section of society who use them always fascinates me. Wonderful, wonderful places.

It would be a very sad day indeed and a regression of society if they were to be given over to the private sector.

“And why are people seeming to take a great amount of pleasure from this?”

    Because it’s Chris Moyles!

Moyles truly is a fat, useless c**t.

Yeah, I rode everyday for around 18 months bar a few days here and there. Snow and ice was no problem as most roads get gritted almost straight away, it depends where you live however.

It makes you a much better cyclist too, at least for commuting as you are going that much faster (generally) yet are equally as vulnerable as on a pushbike.

As Lycra says, maintenance is key, look after the bike and it should look after you. Oh, and be prepared for cold knees…you aren’t peddaling.

I bought a BMX from a shop in Lancaster years ago, I thinks it’s called Leisure Lakes now but had a different name then, probably 2002 ish. Anyway, it’s good to see another shop in such a small city, just hope it lasts.

Look, someone said they like seeing a Spitfire when it goes past.

Why does it have to turn into a soapbox of right and wrong? You state the obvious that most of us know. Why not go on a political forum to air your view?

    Person likes Spitfire.

Nuclear bombs bad. Nothing to do with person liking seeing a plane fly past.

It’s not an argument Elfin. You my friend are taking things out of context.

Someone puts a picture of an Avro Vulcan up – you put pictures of nuclear bomb victims up. The Vulcan never attacked anyone using nuclear weapons. You are taking things out of context. War is bad, we know this. Why do you need to bring a mountain bike forum down with your higher than mighty opinions?

Someone likes to see a Spitfire fly. That is all.

Well, reasonably new. I just love the way a post about loving the sight of a Spitfire descends into pictures of people dying due to nuclear attacks. You couldn’t make it up. Except someone just did.

The game was a spoiler to be honest. Two bad sides, plus Nani is a very good actor. Not worthy of an Oscar, but perhaps a Golden Globe. Or a punch in the face.

Hilton in the 'Heed on the other side of the river, just next to the Tyne Bridge and the Sage and all that jazz.

Nice pubs – Crown Posada on The Side, almost under the Tyne Bridge. Also its worth the nice stroll down river past all the flats to the Ouseburn valley – The Tyne pub is great, with a beer garden under a bridge arch, live bands and stuff. Just above it on the bankside is the Free Trade with the best views of the river of any pub in Newcastle. The Cluny is just a minutes walk away too.

As for places to eat: Greggs, you are in the Toon after all.

Stuff to do except boozing: The Sage and the Baltic Gallery are worth a look, and you can combine this with a nice walk down the river to the Ouseburn as mentioned above. Loads of gallerys in the centre of town and the Hancock Museum is worth a look but it's years since I've been Oh, and if you're into bikes of the motorized variety take a trip up Westgate Road. Brum brum!
