So what does Over Mountain consist of? Riding up a hill, and back down again? Or do you have to ride up a specific side, and back down the other? Or does coming down the same way you go up count?

Didn’t Cannondale try to trademark the term ‘All Mountain’ a good few years back? Or was it ‘Freeride?’

this exact conversation is why people get into road bikes.

Like roadies aren’t influenced by marketing either, no way, not at all, not me sirree, never in a million years.

Merlin seem to be doing some decent deals on Crossrides – how long have you had yours for?

I prefer my Trail Centres to be “Three Quarters Mountain™” with the rest to be made up of a mixture of bracken, bilberry bushes, pine trees and badger dens, with perhaps an old dear or two thrown in.

It looks pretty decent for a 29er to be fair.

My chain cleaning technique consists of turning the bike upside down, gripping the chain with a manky old wet rag and turning the cranks. Pay attention Sky.

Me too – about once every 3 months.

Only done Kirroughtree and it’s pretty decent in parts – the singletrack after Talnotry Hill is by far the best bit I reckon. The only problem I have with it is that the whole thing seems a bit disjointed when you do all of the red and black, as fireroad sections seem to split it up at regualr intervals.

It’s still good fun though and I’ve only ever seen two other riders when I’ve been out on the trails there mid week, so you can get the place to yourself.

Real, or fake, they all look awful. Except Frogskins. But that’s ok, if looking like a middle aged Matrix wannabe floats your boat.

TJ- I like your drawing, but feel it would be more aesthetically pleasing were it to show cyclists riding two abreast.

That’s why he should have ridden two abreast.

If he was riding two abreast it never would have happened. He should have ridden two abreast AND at 2 mph, because it is his right as a cyclist. The driver would have accepted his right as a cyclist and would have kept a safe distance, because the law says so. You’re all missing the point.

For all those saying it’s crap passwords- you couldn’t have guessed mine in a million years. Hell, I couldn’t even guess what it was half the time. It’s just shameful Internet nerds who are hacking accounts, probably like yourselves (if we’re dishing out blame), so wind your necks in.

The only bike you should be riding on the road is a bmx, and even then, just when crossing it.

    I’ve got:

A 1995 Mongoose Amplifier frame and forks (the Amp linkage ones),
An old pair of Manitou forks (SX’s I think),
A pair of Manitou Splice forks,

And other bits and bobs. I should really get rid of them…
