I wouldn’t be too concerned personally.  Plus most cars have ESP to help out when things get a bit out of shape.

I’ve seen folk do this in York.  Often see rusty old bikes just dumped on the paths next to the river.

They should have shown them this version of Sultans of Swing lol!

Sorry, I presumed this was about films screened on free-to-view TV.

Some of the old skool horror films should be screened more often.

Thinking along the lines of Scanners, Evil Dead, Elm Street, etc.

Oh I don’t really *need* a new laptop, but I would like one.  That seems like a very good price.  Cheers!

As suggested above, Harrogate could be a good call.

Close to the Dales, Howardian Hills & Moors if out in the car.

Rail links to Leeds, York & beyond.  So many places to visit I doubt you’ll be bored.

English Heritage or National Trust members perchance?  Fountains Abbey is stunning and lots of other places to visit.

Caps on plastic bottles that no longer come completely off, rather fold to one side.

I appreciate it’s to encourage the caps to be recycled, but why would folk only recycle the bottle and not the cap?  Savages.

^^^ Very much this.  Make them wait, make them pay.

    @theotherjonv

Just to make it clear I was happy to pay £1.60 on a £16 ticket.

The greedy bit was directed at the £10 fees on a £45 ticket via TicketMaster.

But I agree – if it’s £1.60 for a smaller band then why shouldn’t it be the same fee for more expensive ticket.  It shouldn’t be more expensive to administer ticket sales just because the ticket price is higher.

I am trying hard to spend no more than £20 face value on a ticket – prefer to go to unknowns and support local venues, and when you’re paying £12 and £14 type tickets then any more than a couple of a quid for fees really stands out (ie – I’m not paying more than that, and not enough to really get annoyed about)

That’s what I try and do also.  One of my recent gigs the ticket cost £17.60.  £16 ticket + £1.60 fees so 10% (See Tickets)

£10 fees on a £45 ticket is double for exactly the same service.

    Just greed.

You’ve not heard of Don Letts?

It’s the Rebel Dread! How did you not know that?

Lol, I’ve no idea who is, either. But yeah, he sure thinks he’s famous. For what, I really have no idea.

I used to just buy sheets of aquarium fine filter sponge and then just cut to size with a pair of scissors.

    Something like this:

    https://www.finest-filters.co.uk/diy-fine-foam-sheet-18-x-12/

Usually works out lots cheaper than buying the original filters that are already cut to size.

I rode a Honda CB125F for a short while before getting my big bike licence and had great fun razzing around a full throttle lol!

But as a long term bike I agree something a little bigger would be far more satisfying.

As someone who might be doing one in the future, what’s correct clothing?

I obviously will not be wearing a tracksuit in a public place while not participating or travelling to/from a sporting activity…

But beyond motocycle specific helmet and gloves, whats the accepted minimum standard? Regular (non armoured) jeans, a jacket, walking boots?

Clearly the answer is not a 1 piece leather race suit and knee high motocross boots, but where on the spectrum is the correct answer?

Most schools will provide helmets,  jackets and gloves (the one I used did).  Normal jeans and walking boots should be fine (that’s what I wore).

But as Cougar suggests, check first to make sure.

As others have said the CBT should be a piece of cake.

Just wear the correct clothing, though.  The school I used made it very clear to wear appropriate clothing only for some young lad to rock up in a track suit and some flimsy trainers.  They wouldn’t allow him to go out!

MOD1 I found pretty easy.  MOD2 took a couple of attempts due to silly mistakes (very annoying looking back lol!).

I did mine a few years ago and discovered that I hate riding a bike on the road. The riding part is fine, it’s the traffic , the driving standards and the constant near misses which are the problem.

Yeah, agree – the driving standards are, in general, pretty shit.

At the very least, before letting the trainee mechanic make a complete mess of it, they should have contacted you beforehand explaining the situation.

Snapping a tool in it afterwards was just incompetence squared.

Very much this.  ~£100/hr for complete incompetence .

I wonder what random prices these will sell for then.

The whole pricing strategy is a bloody joke.

There are quite a few “park on my drive” type websites which might be worth checking.

I’ve never used one so can’t recommend a particular site but I’m sure they will all be pretty easy to use.

I did it a few years ago so agree with you here.  Certainly recommended.

Mine was held by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.

Hope I never need to put it into practice and now know when to leave the helmet on or remove, which is undoubtedly the most common question!

    +1 mattyfez

Deffo worth trying to get it running, even if a new battery is needed.  If you decide to sell at least it’s a runner.

But a car probably worth keeping when it’s running again.

£1000 will get you – unless you are very savvy and/or lucky – a whole heap of misery, so might be best sticking with the car you already have.

I’m surprised this is even a question – ditch a motor with a known history that needs possibly just a battery and an MOT (and a quick check + oil change) or some random heap from autotrader/ebay?  Lol + wink!

Lots of suggestions above to try!

I like Richmond Castle – the view from the top of tower is fantastic.

And the view across the River Swale and beyond is amazing.

Richmond is a nice little town also.

I really enjoyed riding my 125 – ragging it at full throttle and trying to keep the speed through corners was addictive lol!

    GlennQuagmire

Some of the bigger KTMs have a few reliability issues, not aware of any of the 125s.  They are nice bikes but pricey – I opted for a Honda CB125F when I was learning as I was only intending to keep for a short time.

But just look out for the usual suspects – even a 2022 bike could have corrosion if it has been used over winter and not washed properly.
