The BBC doesn’t improve British culture, what a laugh!!! But the £5Bn revenue it runs on could.

Lots of people here who seem to simply want to abide by the law for the sake of it. But none of them seem to have the mind to QUESTION this law. Why just accept something because someone else says so? Why support an archaic organisation that produces a plethora of bottom of the barrel reality/celebrity/talent shows and reports the news in a highly narrow minded way? Plus Top Gear!

Have a look at top staff’s severance payments for some sobering reading.

Not having a license doesn’t cause danger or a threat to others… it reduces the cash flow to a desperate BBC.

Yes it was Informed Tree services that I used. I regularly think about things I was taught when using the saw, absolutely worth it (though I still managed to nearly chop my achilles in half once!).

I don’t have a TV license, and I told them as much a good while back. I despise the business and current legislation regarding licenses. I won’t support the BBC financially… they can sit on a stick and sing and I still wouldn’t chuck a penny their way.

The sooner the BBC vanishes up it’s own rear the better.

The training is properly useful and worth more than PPE IN MY VIEW.

Lotto, I did mine locally, I’ll look it up if you like. I’m sure it was in Bathgate, but their lications were flexible.

Our c0nservatory is bloody great though…a year round room. I just want to take the edge off the temperature spikes.

Brake lights should be variable, super effin bright when someone emergency brakes.

I patented this decades ago when I first thought of it. I wish.

What use is a plunge cut on small logs that are rolling around your feet? If the logs are secured you can just slice them side on without the added danger!

Thanks, sounds promising. One issue I have is that the shortest span in our conservatory is 4.2m (x5.5m), so I’ll need to use heavier timber to stay straight over that length. I’d LIKE to use thicker insulation board than 25mm as well but, of course, this adds even more weight.

I could simply put a new drop light onto the existing fitting too which would make the electricals as easy as they can possibly be.

Eskay, how was screwing batons onto the upvc? How did you do it? I’m going to do something similar with mine but possibly up into the vaulted ceiling rather than flat, so I can still access the roof window

A sport doesn’t need money, it needs enthusiasts with passion. Real sport is a group of people killing themselves to compete as best as they can because they love it.

I think I’d end up in depression if I ever left Scotland… but in theory, Amalfi Coast, or Basque.

Permacrib is described as having a “desired lifespan of 60 years”.

So when you come to sell a home in 30-40 years the potential buyers are certainly going to be put off by it.

I absolutely wouldn’t screw panels to it as airflow is vital.

Big plus point nobody has mentioned is that you’re legally allowed to park a white van anywhere. Literally.

I have van for work. I wouldn’t buy one for biking/lifestyle. Tents are super comfy, roofracks for travel and bikes in boot overnight. Cars are easy. Get a gazebo for that 2x a year you want to hang outside in the rain at an event.

Superb run. Agree that Talbot was the most impressive for me.

    I’ll miss this after tomorrow!

…AND make sure the posts protrude below the concrete so they aren’t sitting in a puddle.

I’d go with a basic timber fence perhaps with horizontal slats rather than vertical.

I fail to see the advantage of getting this done. And a risk of big disadvantages. I’m not taking my roomster in.

Oooh… interesting! Makwala to get a 200m run on his own tonight, and if he runs under 20.53 they’ll give him a place in tonight’s 200m semi. :)

That’s the thing though – his participation would not automatically equal “everyone gets the bug”. A tiny chance it may be passed to one or two others.

Of course I saw it. I’ve competed at a national level and been involved and interested in athletics for 25 years. The IAAF woman came across like an oblivious jobsworth. And I refer you to my previous comments above.

Why so soft? A head of department has thicker skin than to go home crying about tough questions.

The IAAF deserve the flak and more, the team were right to give her a hard time. Ridiculous amounts of jobsworthery going on and an absence of common sense.

How long has it been up? Have you had any offers? What are the local market comparisons like? Rightmove link?

If you do live ON the estate then I suspect it would be normal for your neighbours to expect you to pay an equal share.

I can’t comment on the “legally required” bit.

I would say the two have previous and he absolutely did that deliberately. No question, and I’d happily sit on a jury and make a clear decision.

You don’t need to be a pole vaulter to know that she’s not focusing on her jump on the runway.

    glasgowdan

The athlete should be visualising their approach, every step of the jump they’re about to attempt and focussing on a little bit of of pma. The nerves can be overwhelming and any distraction amplified.

You mean a spacious stable place to sleep with a comfy 7-10 cm self inflating mat that matches most domestic mattresses for comfort? Space for your pillows, a duvet, seating and all your things handily placed?
