I bought a Trek Superfly 6 last year, one up from the model you are considering. I absolutely love it. It is my first foray into big wheels and as I am only 5′ 7″ the Trek geometry was a better fit than most 17.5in frames that the competitors had on offer.
For £1200, I do wonder why I have been willing to pay up to £3k in the past. I would consider a Cube depending on fit.
GJPFree MemberCG I had the same thing happen with Aviva, but they admitted liability and sacked the person or persons involved.
GJPFree MemberI have just fitted the garage door bolts as above. Let’s me sleep better at night. They are a simple, cheap and reasonably effective solution.
GJPFree MemberA friend of mine from Bolton, with let’s say a very strong accent, walked out of her final interview with a FTSE 100 company when they told her not to worry about her accent as they would provide elocution lessons.
Another one walked out accusing her interviewer of just staring at her breasts. She was one of the most shy and timid girls I have ever known. Good on her I say.
GJPFree MemberYou are not losing your marbles, but it does seem likely that you may be depressed.
The acute irritability and crying you have experienced is not uncommon, and from reading the many threads on here in recent months, I suspect you are not alone, I have certainly been there many many times.
As others above have said it is time for a HTH with your GP. Depression is an absolute bitch, you will get better, but it will also take time.
All the best.
GJPFree MemberOwned cars from the VAG group for the last 16 years, Audi and VW. Always from new. Certainly since 2006 my main Audi dealer has been keeping electronic records and I think the VW dealer did prior to that. Always had the book stamped, although not sure they are too precise with which boxes they tick.
GJPFree MemberOP. Are you not now under contract with the new company?
As others have said the reasons to move on are still there so if it were me I would leave, change is good. Your current employers have had plenty of opportunity to rightly recognise and reward your contributions.
GJPFree MemberBusiness Architect for a FTSE 100. Despite having no technical background whatsoever I have full accountability for all aspects of the strategy, architecture and design, so how difficult can it be. Me and a 100 plus globals, there that should sort it 😆
GJPFree MemberMy peak flow is 650 and I am an asthmatic 50 plus, overweight, unfit, slow riding wheezing short arse. So, I can safely say there is no correlation between having a higher than norm peak flow and being super human.
I use Seretide at the highest dose and it keeps my Asthma well controlled. But, then again so it should as it is in a completely different class to the old school foul tasting brown inhalers ie . Becotide.
All that said every couple of years my Asthma will flare up after a bad virus and require a course of oral steroids and antibiotics.
GJPFree MemberI had the 63 special edition and it was a very good and reliable player, regret selling it, plenty on eBay, just look for a good example, and they are as cheap as chips. I would not pay anywhere close to £190 for the KI version, certainly not from a s/h electricals shop.
GJPFree MemberYou can get a Christopher Ward C5 Malvern Quartz for £199? Can you not get a cheaper Seiko Quartz that looks identical to the one in first post?
GJPFree MemberMCTD I do not believe it is typical for mirtazapine to exacerbate anxiety and panic attacks on commencement, this is more typical of the SSRIs and NSRIs, ie those that hit the serotonin system hard.
But everyone is different, Prozac made me so anxious that I became completely agoraphobic within a week, I was shaking just putting my shoes on to go out. Upon stopping Prozac and starting Mirtazpine my panic attacks stopped overnight. A statement that probably says more about my reaction to Prozac than it says about Mirtazapine.
GJPFree MemberI have been prescribed them in the past. My memories are
Sugar cravings and weight gain, I think I put on about 3 stone in the two or so years I took them. It gets worse at higher doses not so bad at 15 mg but at 30 mg it seemed hard not to crave sugar all the time.
One of the more sedating ADs, oddly they are more sedating at the lower doses. I was told that when it was introduced in the 1990s the standard dose was 7.5 mg, but increased to 15 mg as it was too sedating at the lower dose.
It worked well for me for a while 3-4 months it then I felt I suffered “poop out”
At the end of the day the only thing that matters is whether it works for you.
The plus side is, unlike the SSRIs and SRNIs, mirtazapine does not impact sexual function. If anything it enhances it by lowering the orgasmic threshold, so you may benefit from amazingly intense orgasms 🙂
GJPFree Member” … linked in … “. Which I am pretty sure a few years ago would have been have you spoken to X in department Y about this?
“… socialise …”. What do other people think of your crazy arsed idea?
“… topology …” Oh so you mean shape? Actually I am guilty of using this one a lot, I am also prone to use isomorphism and homomorphism, inter and intra, homogeneous and heterogeneous. Nothing beats a maths geek working in a modern business 😆
GJPFree MemberI would say end to end 11-13 hours, about 75 mins commute in total 30 in 45 on the way home. Typical big corporate middle management life I expect.
GJPFree MemberMy GP, who I regard as a top Doc, has always just switched directly from one to another, some GPs taper people off one before starting another.
There are a class of ADs called MAOIs that have very serious interactions I.e fatal with other ADs and vica versa, but they are very very old drugs that I suspect are very rarely, if ever used now, in primary care. I would be surprised to hear if they were even used by specilalists. I believe there should be a period of 14 days between say stopping an MAOI and starting an SSRI.
Just go with the advice of your GP.
Mirtazapine is one of the more sedating ADs but everyone is different. It does, however, have the effect of reducing the orgasmic threshold, so you may find your orgasms more intense.
SSRIs have the opposite effect hence delayed ejaculation, loss of sensitivity and a limp dick.
GJPFree Member@chip – I have never been on Citalopram so cannot comment specifically about that but if after 6 weeks it is isn’t working and you are having side effects then it would seem that it is not the right AD for you. It can often take 2 or 3 attempts to find the right AD, so this is nothing unusual.
I think the NICE guidelines say after 2 or 3 interventions the GP should refer you on.
In my experience some GPs are fantastic in supporting patients with depression and others are next to useless. Make sure you are seeing the former.
I take Lamotrigine which has pretty much turned my life around. I lost 5 or more years of my life with depression and anxiety, been on pretty much every type of AD. Some worked for a while, some made things an awful lot worse.
Eventually got a Psych referal and never really looked back.
GJPFree MemberI have a Scott 730 but have not rode if yet, so not much help. But I have had a Scott Scale 35 26in for 3 years and loved it, far better than my Whyte 19, which I found had a bit of a soft rear end. The scale put a real smile on my face having ridden an M5 Epic for 5 years prior to that.
GJPFree MemberThey are my local LBS just 2 mins away. Obviously I have never bought from them online but they have a huge online business. They have always been very good to me and I have been a loyal customer for 15 years.
GJPFree MemberI am a big fan of Fulcrum Racing 5s. They seem to ride like a more expensive wheelset. I guess Askiums have come on since my pair but I found them heavy and sluggish, but there are many who swear by them.
GJPFree MemberIt’s a 2013 focus evo 6 by my reckoning. I have one that looks identical 10 speed 105, fulcrum 6.5 wheels.
If it was specified correctly in the ad other than the model code, then I am not sure you have a super strong case for mis selling. £500 is a good price, assuming it is in good condition?
GJPFree MemberI have been there several times with 3 major episodes and periods of absence ranging from 5 to 9 weeks. I am still with the same employer a FTSE 100 company, and have been there 21 years. Thankfully, been ok for the last 5 years, famous last words.
A lot will depend on your own management team and occupational health. After a period of sickness of several months you should be referred to occupational health, and pretty much not be allowed on the company’s premises until they have met with you. Your company have a duty of care, they need to work to that.
Hard to tell what local politics are in play with your own management team, but here’s hoping they are just not experienced in dealing with these cases. They should be taking their advice from HR and Occupational Health and not adminstrating it themselves until you have met with the professionals.
I really don’t see this as a union issue at this juncture.
GJPFree MemberI loved my VW High Up! But it was the manual rather than the auto. Hoots of fun, for around town, and fine on the motorway bar the winds, as said above.
GJPFree Member5′ 7″ here ride a Trek Superfly 17.5 inch. Plenty of stand over and I have little legs but long arms.
GJPFree MemberHad an Audi from new for 8 years, bar a new battery nothing. I will be sticking to Audi, VW for the time being.
GJPFree MemberAt 10 years I would scrap it and buy new. Not something I have bought too often ! I went for a Siemens, priced above Bosch/neff etc but a lot cheaper than Miele.
GJPFree MemberI had an Oyster Bay one a couple of weeks ago which I thought was very good. £13 I think at Waitrose.
GJPFree MemberOr you could try the 170bhp V5? I had one from new for 6 years, cooling fans were a problem, but bar that no problems. Engine was sweet! Handling, well it was as good as any other MK4
GJPFree MemberTwickenham, Vince C had a 12,000 majority and 54% of the vote, Tory at 34% and Labour at just 5%, so I guess it will stay Lib Dem.
Frankly, I don’t want any of the useless twunts.
GJPFree MemberMy dad gave the Nazis a good kicking all over Europe when he was a very young man. Although as a child he always reassured me he had only ever shot a chicken, but I know the war had a great impact on him. He will be 91 next month.
GJPFree MemberThanks everyone. I do not know how much I weigh but it is definitely more than 10 stone!
Mixed opinions above about the Crests but the majority of opinion based on a small sample suggests the Hopes and their eyelets are a safer bet than the Crests in 29er form given my weight is definitely above 12 stone.
Max thanks for the offer but I am spending part of my annual bonus so wish to buy new on this occasion.
GJPFree MemberI took my Audi to the same main dealer for 8 years from new. I never paid more than £250 per service, bar the cam belt change and tyres and for those they were no more expensive than ATS. Never once was i told anything needed doing, just we will look again at the discs in 12 months etc. I have to admit my experiences with other dealerships has not been so pleasurable.
GJPFree MemberClearing out my history solved it for me. Oddly I had been thinking about buying a Tudor watch with this years bonus, no chance now, plus I can get an almost identical Chris Ward at a third of the price.
GJPFree MemberIt depends fussed you are about the frame color and decals:)
I came to the conclusion the Sora bike represented the sweet spot for me, as I could probably live with it for a while before switching to 105. Bear in mind if you have 11 speed in mind you may need a new free hub?
GJPFree MemberFor the last 5 years I have been buying stock bikes.
The last 2 MTBs have been a Scott Scale and a Trek Superfly. It was a couple of years before I changed the saddle on the scott and have yet to touch the Superfly, hankering after some new wheels mind.
Road bikes I always change the saddle but only for something lighter, tyres and possibly the wheels and cassette immediately. Stem depends on fit, normally for a longer one.
My bum seems to accommodate most saddles.
GJPFree MemberIt will be repairable but probably uneconomic. Why not just buy a cheap s/h phono stage, rather than a whole amp?
GJPFree MemberI took mine back today for a refund. Remote froze again yesterday rendering it useless, either a fault with the remote or the sensor on the device. Perhaps just a bad example but a complete PITA. Sadly, there does not seems to be a lot of choice.
GJPFree MemberI bought one at Xmas after my trusty Sony died after a decade of use. I wouldn’t buy another humax product, it is just a temperamental SOB, reset any number of times, remote froze, meaning I couldn’t reset it. It needs to be on to use the TV tuner, switches itself off. Wish I had bought the cheaper Panasonic even though it looked pants.
GJPFree MemberGolf mk7 GT here. 1.4 TSI ACT DSG. Engine and gear box sweet, 44 mpg.
Previous car was an Audi 2.0T FSI Quattro. Whilst the Audi was much quicker, the golf is no slouch and much cheaper to run.
I would be looking at golf or Leon.
GJPFree MemberWhich EPOS speakers? Some were very well rated and still have value and their followers.
