Never had any problems with Wiggle when things go wrong and IT IS THEIR FAULT!!! If you want a retailer to give you a BJ shop at Harrods 🙄

Not flown with them for a long time, sadly no more extended business trips to Sydney, but from what I remember Shorts and RM Williams is pretty much par for the course.

I still remember my first ever trip down to Aus. BA club class London to Tokyo and then QF business class to Sydney. After an overnight flight from the UK to Japan. The first thing I recall on boarding the QF flight in business class really was “Good day mate, do you want a beer”.

26 days + bank holidays. Relatively flexible options to take unpaid leave for short or even longer periods or temporary part time working but all this is at the company’s discretion

Thanks – just discovered those. It looks like they are inline ones.

USE seem to do a Sumo in 34.9 but I always thought USE posts were shimmed beyond 27.2mm?

Yes – that is what I have been doing – too lazy to change the rotors when I bought the new brakes.

I was very tempted by a 2011 Epic Evo. They had one in my size on sale but I hesitated for a week or two and it had gone when I went back. Only small ones available now

Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Hudson are sitting on the same chairs as I have in my lounge FFS. Either I am one rich bastid or Kelly is falling on hard times 😆

Gary M – What name / spelling is given on any travel documents you have been given either from the Holiday Company or Ryan Air. Email Receipts, itineraries etc.

If you received “documents” upon booking, or on paying if you did not pay at the same time that you booked, then generally an airline would have expected you to check that all the names were correct etc. You would then have a few days grace to call them if some of the spellings were wrong etc. The airline would then make the amendments without any charge. Perhaps a bit more complicated when the travel company may have made the airline bookings on your behalf, but the principle still applies. Beyond that they would charge you a fee, and not necessarily a simple low admin fee.

There is reasonable probability that RyanAir will try and charge you for correcting the name now, but clearly this is so obviously a mistake and an easy one to make at that, they should just sort it out without any hassle. But they are RyanAir, with a business model centered on product de-bundling and increasing margins by charging extra for EVERYTHING.

EDIT sorry the stuff above is certainly not trying or intending to cause you any further stress. As you say it is only a space, this is why I said if you can check in then do so, transfer the problem to them and don’t worry about it.

    nick1962 – I am 5’8″ with short legs!

I always thought I was too small to ride a 29er, but the Specialized geometries do not differ from a 26in in terms of “general fit” As you say I always thought they were only for Giants.

Airlines can get quite awkward about such things as name changes are not normally allowed on bookings/tickets as they are non-transferable to stop brokering. I was at work the other day when one of my colleagues was talking about up to 3 character name changes – really I have a very exciting life 😆

If it were me I would just check in, if you can, and don’t draw too much attention to the fact.

I assume you are justing checking in online, if you need to authenticate your booking reference by adding your name then just try both spellings to see what happens

Old codgers who ignore queuing etiquette and believe just because they are old they deserve to be served ahead of you. Wouldn’t mind if they asked, or said thank you.

You would think that they would cherish what might be the last time they queue for anything.

Given there is so much divided opinion I am quite surprised by Specialized’s move to drop the 26in Epic. Are they more popular in the US?

I am not regular night rider so can’t really comment on beam patterns and throw etc. But I love my Toro and Joystick on the bar and helmet for their simplicity. Tempted by a Max D. I really couldn’t be ar$ed with importing torches and waiting weeks to save a few quid.

I used to regularly chop and change and buy at least one new bike every year, but for the last two or three years I have been very disciplined, since prices when sky high.

In the last 12 months I have sold my Felt F1, my other Ti Roadbike, and a Kona HT, to raise some cash for a new ride and free up some space.

I am currently down to 1 road bike, 1 FS and one HT. Really this is all I need but I still can’t help lusting over all that 2012 carbon loveliness.

    My top ones would be

    1. BA (but I am paid to , but i am very proud to work there and in the face of crisis I know of no better company)
    2. Audi (I really don’t understand all the hatred – I still love mine after 5 years – I like their understated elegance and their after sales service is excellent – A3/A4/A6 sensible cars that are rewarding to own over the long term)
    3. NAIM (for some reason once they have secured your pennies you are then trapped for life, although NAIM for Bentley seems a bit pants)
    4. Specialized (just good albeit ordinary bikes)
    5. Apple (for their Agile product innovation and how can any company rise from its ashes to become so ingrained in modern culture)
    6. Nationwide – a mutual capable of taking on the banking giants in retail financial services. Never the best rates or products but always competitive and easy to find and buy. CRM is a bit pants mind.

SigmaSport in Hampton Wick / Kingston-Upon-Thames. Top end road bikes

    SigmaSport[/url]

Then Pearson Cycles in Sutton and now East Sheen (both in Surrey).

    Cycleworks in Leatherhead + 1

The new BikeLab in Richmond have been very helpful, but I have to admit I haven’t spent any money there.

When recruiting I would be very cautious about interviewing/hiring an individual whose career was characterized by moving around every couple of years for any responsible professional position.

To me it just smells of someone who can’t work through problems, and difficult times, has no loyalty and is only interested in themselves.

If they have moved a lot and they are now a Director of major company, then that is one thing, but if people are just moving without any real progression then I would be very skeptical.

I like to use one from Clarins, but must admit it is a bit pricey at close to £15. It lasts a a long time, but I was a bit shocked at the price the last time I bought it, used to £10 when I used it all the time.

I never got on with the oils. I like a bit of a lather but not Gillette style.

Some people can suffer badly with non-specific muscle aches, stiffness and weakness whilst taking Mirtazapine.

I struggled badly whilst on it for the first time, but the second time had no problems. My Dad struggles with it. But, given everything else you describe this is more than likely not your problem, but worth keeping in mind.

I wouldn’t buy one, but I am very risk averse by nature. Even if it were discounted I would still be wary, so no win for me. No shortage of 2nd hand Fords, so a buyers market?

EDIT. Actually I would never buy any second hand car, so my opinion is worth SFA 😳

In what way does St Helens to Southport involve Trans Pennine? But I guess anything that takes you away from St Helens is a good thing 😆

Actually, I would be interested in the route if you have a map handy or can point me in the right direction. Up in St Helens every now and again visiting my Dad.

It depends distraction techniques can work for me, but anxiety is just such a part of my day to day life I tend to just to accept it knowing that tomorrow or the day after I will feel different.

Sometimes, if I am really really bad, I will take some Valium, or a sleeping pill or a sedating anti-depressant or an even an anti-psychotic, but never all at the same time 😆

I know I shouldn’t self medicate on prescription drugs but if the docs keep on giving me them then I may as well use them.

But seriously, you should probably start with self help techniques.

Can’t comment on the Engine as I have only ever had one for a day when my own petrol engined Quattro was in the Garage. I really rate the Quattro 4WD on my A3 Sportback, handles like a go cart, although the drive is probably not as engaging as a rear wheel drive BMW.

I have the Bose system mainly because it came with the car. I can’t say I am overly impressed, it sounds fine but is nothing special, perhaps the standard one is really pants.

Mine has been faultless in 5 years since new and I have been very impressed with my local Audi dealer in terms of general servicing/support and not ripping me off. Perhaps when things go wrong it may be a different story.

I was under the impression that many lenders allow you to overpay to create an overpayment reserve. This has some restrictions mine is no more than £500 per month, but in reality I can easily live with that.

Mine is with Nationwide, competitive interest rate, not the best, but cheaper than paying a premium for a specific offset. The other drawback is I can’t just draw my overpayment out with a bank card or whatever method and it is a bit of hassle.

But if you are starting from zero savings it may be worth looking at such deals

I had an A1 1.6D for a day when my own Audi was being serviced. It was the worst car, or at least the worst engine I have ever had the misfortune to drive. It could barely overtake a cyclist.

Hopefully the petrol engines are a lot more lively, otherwise I can’t see why anyone would buy one. Steering was also very heavy for an Audi, but some may think that is a good thing.

If you can’t do it yourself then I would buy some new Elixirs from Merlin. Sell the new rotors and sell the old brakes.

By the time you take into account LBS labour, new pads and pistons you are looking at close to if not in excess of £60 per end. Yes cheaper than new brakes but not a lot in it, only Juicy 5 after all.

Or find a mate who can do it and buy them some beers.
