Cove – wind your neck in, we have all had a good chat and we appreciate what could have happened. I've been down the road on numerous occassions in my 30 years of riding motorbikes, lost a few mates, know lads who have been paralysed – so don't need any "helpfull" reminders that nobody died.

Mate has had a chat with his solicitor who basicaly says " regardless of any other factor, you didn't leave enough space for yourself to brake – you are to blame"
Have notified my insurance company, but have asked them to hold back on doing anything for a week or so, until we see how my missuses leg is.
If it was a week or so loss of earnings, i would probably let it go, but it's a bit of an unknown at the moment.
Road conditions were just about perfect, so no oil, mud etc to blame.
My mate is not being arsey about it at all, i think he might be a wee bit concerned that he will get into a bit of trouble off the police if they decided to charge him.

Minor damage to my bike, bit of the exhaust shroud snapped off, it was my missus thigh and knee that took the majority of the impact.

Think you have to take them as they come – mostly ancient engineering at a premium price. They are slow moving, slow steering, and a wee bit austentatious (some are very grim with tastles and shiny bits)
But some people just want to bimble around trying to look cool – so let them be. My neighbour has a fatbob that i tried and really disliked, he thinks it’s the best bike in the world, he has waited about 25 years to be able to eventaully get one – if he is happy with it, who am i to tell him i think it’s a bit of a dog?

Keep trying to set of one on the A34 near Cannock, go past it about 40mph(in a 30mph limit) but the bugger refuses to flash – fun to see kids in the back of motors get all excited as i catc then overtake the car.

Will be the missus first time camping – don’t think she is going to be too enamoured about spending a day and a half in a muddy field. She’s not a rider so will be bored sensless i think.

I’m number 89, most probably on an ally Whyte 19.

I have cover for all three included in my insurance. Costs about an extra £30 per year. had the RAC come out to fix the Fazer, can’t fault the guy who came to fix it, no rush, no pressure.

    I rode a K1 Gsxr600 from 2001 – 2005, chopped it in for a new (then) 2005 Fazer 1000. Best all round bike i’ve ever owned.
Much comfier than any 600 or 750 that i’ve tried. Plenty of low down and mid range, which makes it a great roll on bike, no need to be dropping 3 gears to hoon by things. this doesn’t stop me having real fast road rides when i want. just means you get there less stressed, contorted etc.
My missus thinks the seat is very comfortable and sits there wihout fidgeting or moaning.
    Insurance is reasonable.
Top end is more than enough most of the time on UK roads – dont know if i really need to have a 186mph top end, near 170 is adequate 8O
Suspension is soft which gives a floaty, slightly wobbly mid corner ride (makes you feel as if you are trying quite hard, without getting beyond your abilities)

I also have a v-rator 1000 and MT01 for slowish bimbling – she hates both of them

Early morning / afternoon ride (in bed 8O)
Gave her a nice sparkly ring for her left finger, bottled out of doing the getting down on one knee job. Put the wee box into her jeans pocket, after she came out of the shower and put her jeans on, she shuffled about in her pocket, took the box out and tossed it to the side without looking at it, as she thought it was something that had been in there previously!
Thought it was about time to show a bit of commitment after 18 months! :D

Cool hand – why did you stop him from working from a ladder. work at height regs do not preclude the use of ladders, but it advises following a hierarchy of control measures, Identify why you have come to the conclusion that the work equipment you are using is suitable.
We use the hierarchy system and allow use of ladders and steps for short duration works, or where space constraints don’t allow use of platforms.
Don’t go quoting regulations too often, lads and lasses on the work front need a bit of an explanation why, not a list of regulation, legislation etc.

Who are you working for, and in what field – refurb, housbuilding, maintenance??

I thought that traffic cops would have on a stab vest, and most probably a hi-vis vest.

Couldn’t see his reg because of the rain and spray. He pulled in behind me so i couldn’t see it then either. When he told me to “fkkc off” i did just that, was more interested in filtering back onto the M6, rather than looking behind!

Was reading up on them and it seems they suss out the owner and say right why should i do that now, just because i used to do it. Seem pretty intelligent. One breeder is going for a trophy where the dog pulls 1200pound in weight – fcck me that is one powerfull beast, how could most people control that if it decided to run away from you!!

Took out mortgage insurance during December, being in the house building industry i started to get a bit unsure of future works.
I took it with Legal and General and it covers accident, sickness or unemployment. Policy is for 140% of my monthly mortgage payments, so i pay £32 monthly and would receive £738 monthly if i was made redundant. You have to wait 120 days after vtaking out the policy before you can claim redundancy cover, sickness and illness cover is immediate.
Cover is only paid for 12month period.
The money would cover my mortgage and one of my motorbike loans, so it would keep me ticking over for a while.

My Tag is better at keeping accurate time than my Oris. Took the Oris back to the shop last week to tell them it was running too fast. Watch is now back in Switzerland being re-calibrated.
I tend to buy watches in the January sales when they are about half price. Don’t like anything with loads of dials that i never use and can’t read. Just time, seconds, day and date will do.
    Do like the Bell&Ross models.

Cavity wall insulation comes with a 25year guaruntee if that is of any use to you.
Don’t know how you can tell if it is still as effective as when it was initially installed.

Not too badly off at the moment – work in house building which includes social housing and refurbishment of local authority housing. This is cushioning the blow from open market which is now non existant. problem is all the councils are now fcckked financialy and are cutting back their spending. Don’t know how long all the big house builders can keep going, some of them are truly screwed with massive debts. Just see every month as another morgage payment less!!
    Good to have a loving girlfriend – she is 21, 5’10”, size 10, DD’s : :D
    I’m 43 5’5″ with a knackered back and neck :?
