Spectators will be able to see you entering the forest worlderness and then hopefully emerging at the end. Unless they have a chopper they won't see you in between.

My contribution to edge this thread toward the magic 1000.

I don't really like cats because they can't ride bikes.

Went for Ultraflate+ and 10 cartridges-£21 with delivery. I always carry a top up pump just in case.

Book a pre-arranged delivery. Natural birth is barbaric.
Get some sleep NOW. Your life is about to change beyond belief. Have you ever been to 4am Korma nappy change?
All babies are different so don't take advice from anyone and trash the self help books.
Make sure you introduce baby to bottle if you're breast feeding.
    Don't listen to my advice.

Bloke down the pub is allegedly correct.

Fylingdales are apparently able to read any email and listen to any call in the interests of National Security. There was a website on t'internet run by some chap.

I also remember some article years ago where mobile phones could have been totally encripted when digital came in but the CIA objected so calls can always be 'cracked'.

Tyre choice is top secret as I reckon I've got it cracked over many months of development and testing so definitely won't be riding a 2.25 60a Aspen front with a 2.1 70a Crossmark rear. Whyte1 recommended actually.

You misinterpret Mr C. He is a specialist time trialler who has ridden away from people in the Classic one dayers for many years. ParRou suits his style as a hard day with a 'time trial' at the end. Might he be on drugs? Who knows. Boonen is the druggy in my eyes whether in or put of competition it doesn't matter.

Got to admire their nerve. Costs fortunes to get a stiffy home.

Only mistake was not covering him in a towel.

Was the taxi driver in on it? What happened when they went round corners?

Sounds like comedy capers to me-bet it was a scream!

Pasta load for a couple of days before-breakfast lunch and dinner+water.
Ride food should be carbo rich-bars in various flavours ideal. Little and often on bike say small mouthful every 20mins washed down with water+something like Nuun to replace minerals.
A larger feed every 3hours would be advantageous-small ham/cheese roll.
BEWARE eating too much especially when off the bike. A satisfying full stomach feels like you've eaten 2 bricks when you set off again and will make you sluggish.

Always ensure you have a saddle fitted to your bike before you set off so you can sit down and rest periodically during your ride. Top tip.

    Nightmare.

I think we've reached overkill with gearing.

Did you notice the difference between 10 and 11 speeds before you had to hitch home?

Surely it makes 10 speeds faster if 11 spds means you have to wait for lifts!!!

    Its progress I suppose.

DON'T BUY ONE! First trip out. All secured on the car with extra paranoid straps and the thing just wandered all over the back of my car. Yes it was fitted right-tried all possible variations and the thing was fine and secure at a standstill. After 6 miles it began to move about and lift one of the supporting arms. No matter how tightly I secured it, no matter where I positioned it or the bike, it went wandering. It's too flimsy in it's construction and the bike supporting arms are not wide enough apart. Very short trips-very light bike might be ok.

Had two Hagon shocks for 1200 Bandits in the past-loads better than standard shock and the adjusters actually worked!

Found the Outlander to be one of the worst 4×4's I've ever had the misfortune to drive. Turbo failures, turbo pipe failures, oil dumping sessions and engine failures. Company has gone back to Disco's. I thought Japonese stuff was reliable?

Towbar not an option. Adding the towbar to a 1250cc Fiesta would double its weight and make an already slothful beast even slower. Ford do not recommended towing with it either-over heating issues.

Any trail is a good trail.

I think we are very lucky at the moment in that most of the powers that be see trails developments as money generating schemes for the future. Peanuts* investment=visitors=money spent in area.

Riding Moto X on a YZ450 was the hardest, most tiring thing I've ever been involved in.

I've done running, Enduro and cycling sportif's before and although knackering in there own rights MotoX took the biscuit by a mile!

You can't really go wrong with Giant and if you find the right dealer (Evans/Wiggle etc) they usually have last years stock at a reduction AND womens specific which don't seem to sell in large numbers.

Giant or a Ribble Cycles build may also bring you better value than the Carrera – steel forks will be heavier than alloy or carbon.

Not sure Ribble build that cheap???-worth checking the site.

Exactly how I run mine but with 95mm stem set quite high to protect my back. 100mm travel made the bike a bit front end biased on downhills or rough stuff which was tiring. 120mm works fine.

Had a look at some photos on various sites BUT the lower attachments (black) that hook under the hatchback look a bit thin. How does the lower part of the rack cushion itself against the car? The upper section obviously has rubber blocks. Saris Bones 2 is £99 at Wiggle so not far off pricewise.

The blurb from Saris is making out that the Solo is a 'get you to and from the bikeshop' accessory but I'd like to know if it has issues on a longer run. Only lacks two side straps compared to the Bones series.

Never had a problem with my two pairs.

They're not supposed to be worn as hot pants.

    Just a bad batch?
