Thank you all. Going down there soon for a day, so trying to plan a route. Last time I followed a track near Moretonhampstead and it was great. It felt like it took me to the best bits of the area.

Head to Aix les Bains and do the descente du col du chat. It’s sign posted as a GR, red and white line, and you can’t go wrong as you are back at the lac du Bourget. Kids can have a swing while you are trashing that singletrack. There is a YouTube video of me doing it somewhere.

UK. They said to send the frame back to Jungle. I really wonder how a frame can develop a fault almost one year later.

Yeah! an excuse to place my videos:

if you are going from Westbury, toward Longleat, here what to expect:

From Westbury toward Erlestock Wood (I suspect the bluebells are still out):

If you need some gpx files, just let me know, I will download some of my latest rides from Strava.

But please don’t steal my KOMs.

Thanks Rich, I enjoyed that video of the beast! Not sure which S/W editor you are using, but I found using the Pan/Zoom features of window movie maker add some good cinematographic effects.

That’s a good question I like to know as well. On my SC frame, SC website said to put some loctite but i know when the time came that i have to remove the bearing, the outer ring stayed in the cup and it was not possible to remove it. MY LBS did it by filling a groove in the cup in order to slide a screwdriver to pop the ring out. So now i just use some lube instead of loctite.

love that. Are you based in Edimburgh by any chance…

Now can you just show the routes without the map, and see if we can recognise the country.

well i will suggest Scotland, no midges around that time. That’s why i’m planning to go there.

Surely this should go to the “chat” forum.

Have you try the SC UK website? Email them if you can’t find it as they don’t put everything on their website. I was able to order some individual parts rather than the whole lot by contacting them.

I ride with people but the day i went riding the same usual trails on my own, it felt very weird, like something was missing.

thanks for that – I got a lot of play despite injecting some fresh grease after each ride so i think i have to look deeper into it.

Got it from last April, and I like it very much:

I was also lucky to have it for one of the best summer we had!

    Anything related to Yeo Valley?

This is what i did last summer, following the route published in STW, it should give you an idea of the difficulty and the expected scenery.

Yes, go to Cadence, demo a Santa Cruz bike by going on top of Lansdown and back.

Got 2 set from them, and no issues at all (Hope + Mavic 819 and Hope + Arch Ex). Fast delivery as well. Not sure how they do that but the CRC sticker on the rim never get covered with mud.

    scottfitz,

Never been to the Tidworth Bike Park yet but i was not planning to go now, as I’m expecting a lot of propre Wiltshire mud clagging my wheels. However on your picture you look very clean, so is it rideable or were you just flying?

    thanks.

Are they any SC dealers in France?

    Gilles

Yes, I like it. I also did GT first then cool down at Newcastleton. I like the North Shore bit, I think this should be called Ewok Village really.

Just follow any GR, white and red marks on any rocks and trees. If there is a painted cross, this is the wrong way. Now you can do the Gaz de France descente, descente du col du chat, other side of the lake, or any rando loop around Leschraines. Autumn in the Alps is great for mtb.

Now how easy are they to find those singletracks in Bentley Wood? Never really explore East of Salisbury, maybe now is a good time.

Even with the rain, it’s still good! I’ve been there:

Well, I have a Solo and i did have that annoying noise going uphill. After changing a lot of parts and not fixing it, I just used the grease gun to refresh the bearings. It did help as the noise has almost gone now. It re-appears sometime when it’s a steep climb and I have to push harder.

Some of my work colleagues didn’t like BB. I’m not talking to them anymore. This is the best stuff i’ve seen on TV.

Cats use your garden because your grass is long. It’s a gentle reminder and they are doing you a favour. Just mow your lawn and they will go elsewhere.

For the Garmin watches, is the wrist strap much more stronger than the old models? I’ve got to replace mine every 6 months usually. Probably more if I was not running or cycling…
