Well, Monday was the only gorgeous day of the week so i’ve decided to do the Four Passes loop. i didn’t want to regret it and thinking i should have done it, and it was hard but the views were just fantastic. i think i’m getting used to the singletracks around here as i’m starting to enjoy the technical descents!!!! I’m planning the Bash via Maiden moor and that track mentioned by lowey as soon as i got a better day. Today is rest day as shoulder a bit sore carrying the bike on my back. i will be interested to know if anybody tried those loops on an e-bike – this does look impossible if you have to push/carry your bike.
i had some similar issue a while back – I screwed the gear cable the wrong way round. I screwed it straight when in fact it should have loop around the screw using the groove provided.
For some reason my Edge Explore 2 can only charged properly using a usb port on a laptop – If i used my phone charger, it’s all over the place, i.e. jump from 86% to 100%, when in fact it’s still 86%.
I had the first version and the battery was not great, telling you full when it was near 0%. Edge 2 is better, but the bit to protect the USB port is not good enough. But I will still recommend to buy it! Nothing perfect.
i had that problem when i used the old adage of calculating the chain length by wrapping it around front ring and big cog at the back plus 2 links – then Shimano doc said 5 or 6 links depending where the chain join, which was then much better.
There is one back of Blwch – https://www.strava.com/activities/2399096080 – if you can include the detour on the hill on the west side of Blwch, it’s a good one too but climb might be a bit overgrown.
Thanks for that too! I remember that descent in the plantation, dead boring! I couldn’t believe the gpx file i was following was taking me there!!! Got to do it again properly.
I spent a day trying to fix a similar issue. The problem was the clutch. Basically it was too stiff to get the mech in a clean position. Even with the clutch off, it was still too hard so I have to clean and grease the clutch mechanism .
funny i had a similar issue with my bike last week end – not same setup (SLX rear mech) but the issue was routing and attaching the cable end to the rear mech the wrong way!
I’m sure you can do both. Newcastleton is a short loop then you can cross the wood, i think it’s signposted, to join one loop in Kielder Forest. I did that a long time ago, possibly in 3h.
