I am heading to Tignes at the end of July, it has only been three years since the last Alps trip, and I am proper excited. I am sitting looking at the piste map as we speak!

Look at Zoopla sold prices, they tend to have links to the old particulars from the sales.

    Hi,

We have two dogs, one a Romanian rescue, and both work full time. We have a dog walker (day care) who picks them up in the morning and drops them off again after a couple of walks and socialising with other dogs all day.

It seemed the best way to be fair to the dogs if we are not going to be there in the days. And as it goes they love it!

    Good luck with the dog,

I use his stuff, and they have a pre lubed chain for a much more reasonable price, if you need that sort of thing.

There are loads of free data options out there which you can use to create a map, I didn’t want to sound like i am touting for work, just offering to help and share my knowledge.

Hi, this is something I know quite a bit about as my job is around the the supply and use of mapping data. Feel free to pm me information on what you are tying to achieve and I can look into the best solution if you like?

This works really well. I use if for converting files for work, but there is a decent YouTube downloaded to.

It is a new cable, but everything else is older but not that old. I will look into how straight everything is next, that seems to be the next logical step. It’s all shimano so should be reasonably simple. Or so I thought

If you are looking for a variety of dogs, and also to give a dog a totally new start and amazing life, then the dogs from Romania are great. We have been fostering one (Sunja) and she was amazing and fitted in with us and our other dog within minutes of arriving at the house.

Quite often although they are street dogs they have come from homes and are well trained and enjoy having the home life again.

If you see what these animals go through it is horrendous!

I was over there today, it is a bit muddy, but overall for the time of year and the amount of rain, i would say it is as good as it could ever be at the moment.

They Gorrick team look to have made a really good course.

I had a Volvo V50 for three years and have to say it was amazing for putting loads of stuff in and for long journeys.

I had the 2.5ltr sports wagon which was a little thirsty, but still amazing for many trips all over the country.

Tignes has everything for everyone included so will suit you all if you all go along. plus it is all free which really makes for a bonus on top of the codt of getting there and accommodation.

Pansh are good at a good price, also if you sign up to their email list they often offer a free kite when you buy one from them.

Thanks for all the thoughts, I think I am going to put a list together form a book or website, then aim to work my way through it riding a couple at each centre depending on how much fun they are.

key things being to make sure it is still good fun and not a chore, otherwise what is the point.

I have not camped there, but it is a hard packed surface, there are grassy banks around the edge and through the middle. I have seen people with gazebo type things there.

“Eliminate dropped chains forever and more than double your chainring life with the new OneUp Components Chainguide.

How can I double my chainring life?

As a Narrow Wide ring wears, over time the teeth thin and loose their chain retention ability, leading to more dropped chains. The OneUp guide extends NW ring life by limiting the chains side-to-side movement reducing the NW tooth wear and totally preventing the chain from derailing. Installing a OneUp guide means you now only have to replace your chainring when the driving faces have worn out, which typically doubles your usable chainring life. Buy less stuff – Work Less Ride More.”

A chain device on a NW set-up is supposed to lengthen the life of the drive train as a whole. I am not too clear how, but it is supposed to save you money on new chains ect……

    Any thoughts?

I am going on my Bird Zero hardtail this weekend then again the week after on the FS to see what the difference is like.

The benchmark has to be the guy i saw there letting the air out of the tyres on his cyclocross bike for the descents.

Check out Tignes, it is just what you are after and all the lifts and other sports including pool and spa are free

I did, a good point I made was that we would see more of each other as I would be in the car travelling to places to ride less.

Thanks everyone, that is all really useful, It has given me loads to think about. I would be working in Exeter, so we have plenty of options regarding where we end up.
