Tignes is a good option, not too expensive, free lift passes and activities other than biking.

I went for Sea Glass, completely different and unique as each one is made to order.

If you want something different have a read up on this, and look on this website, really good quality and impressed with the ring when it arrived,

RRP are just releasing a specific Rear Pro Guard. It looks pretty good, not sure about what it will fit though.

I have just been out in the woods to rescue our dog walkers lost daughter (long story) but they are setting up for the spartan race this weekend.

They did did this last year, it has no effect on the car park or riding, but there is the added bonus of seeing people looking completely miserable going round the course.

Managed to go through a new pair of pads in the ginge today and get the brakes looked on the rotor so had to drag the bike back for the last mile!

Will hopefully be there at 9 tomorrow though depending on how wet it is.

This place near Fort William is a good example of vegan options in the Highlands. http://www.glenfinnanhouse.com/restaurants/

Maybe start with a mix with a view to reducing the non vegan options as the reputation for serving good food no matter what the label is grows.

I can recomend these guys for the work they do and the money going straight to the animals. The charity was started after Lisa who runs the place went on holiday and came back with 28 rescued dogs.

I think this may have been related to the number of motorbikes in that area recently? Just guessing though.

If anyone is after a rescue dog, my other half volunteers here and the work they are doing is amazing.

Also they have a retreat you can rent for a getaway.

That’s the random thing, they were new inner and outer cables on both bikes with no wear or fraying. They were fitted by different mechanics to so nothing identical. it may just be a coincidence but seemed odd.

Had all the other spares, and since it was downhill all the way singlespeed worked to get back to repair it.

    Cheers

I have noticed my Edge 510 is less accurate than my phone, especially in trees although that may be the settings on the Edge to be honest.

I repaired mine about 18 months ago using a guide like the one below. Mine was pretty bad, so i sanded it down with wet fine paper, then once it was smooth filled the scratch with Araldite from Halfords then once it dried sanded it back smooth again.

How to repair fork stanchion scratches

Overall it cost me about £20 and i have not had a single issue with oil leaking. The forks have been away for servicing twice once by Mojo and nothing was said about the damage.

Worth a few hours to save an expensive repair.

I went for a ride, BBQ & talk with them in Swanage this weekend. Really decent interesting guys, with some amazing stories to share.

If you get the chance to go meet them take it.

Thanks for the advice, I think i will give the Huck Norris a go, that should hopefully resolve the issues I have been getting. I checked the rim yesterday and that needs truing again so the impact must have had some effect.

It’s the Baron Projekts I have been using, I ripped a hole in the sidewall this weekend, while I know this would not so
Be this issue, it may help keep the tyre from getting in a position where it will rip a hole.

After ruining two tyres in a week, it’s worth a try….

Cheers, I think I will pick some up this week to fit with new tyres.

I am going in August with a few mates for the third time, I have always taken the Orange Five and it has been amazing and eaten up everything you can throw at it.

I have not ridden any of the big jump lines or anything but otherwise nothing to worry about.

I started using it to replace lunches at work as I was bored of the food offerings at the office.

Nothing against it, but you need some will power to see it through. I still have plenty left, there us something to be said for enjoying your meals.

Watch your cables when taking the bike off the trailer. Someone pulled their bike of ripping out my gear cable which was a nice surprise.

Hi Bowglie, that may have been me last week? If it was send me the spec.

I think the Solaris is ideal for the riding I am planning to do. Mainly round Surrey hills and swinley.

My gf is vegan and she says: your daughter is maybe not getting enough nutrients and vitamins – you can get every vit/mineral you need from a vegan diet (except B12 which she’ll need to take a supplement for- check out Holland and Barratt) but you both need to learn more about what to eat. Sign up to http://www.veganuary.com you’ll get a starter pack full of info/advice. Also the facebook page is full of newbies and really supportive. It’s fantastic you’re supporting your daughter with her choice but its new for you all so get armed with the facts and get a few recipes up your sleeve and it’ll become second nature. There’s also a great site she might find helpful: http://www.teenvgn.com. Good luck to you both X

I have added an airshot to the list, I would never get one myself as i have made one from a coke bottle, but it would be nice to have a proper tool.

This is the best source of free maps for a garmin i have found along with instructions to download for the 520. I use this all the time now and gave my 800 away as I never used it.

This film (Concussion with Will Smith) was really good and is all about this issue in the NFL. worth a watch if anything as its a good film, but it does highlight the issue:
