We have cancelled our entry to Enduro 2 this year which i s now in August as there are too many variables between now and then to commit properly.

It looks like Alps riding is on hold until next year.

I have a CC DB Coil Inline on my DMR Sled with the progressive white spring which has been a real improvement over the standard Coil.

i weigh 95kg and I used the 550 coil with no issues in the alps last year.

To be fair they replied pretty quickly to me, although only to say their deliveries are delayed at the moment due to Covid 19.

Deliveries really are hit and miss at the moment.

I ordered a screw for a Syntace mech hanger last month. £5 delivery for one screw was a bit pricey but with a DHL delivery i figured it would be quick.

Now over a week later and with no update from Hermes delivery I am wondering if it will arrive at all. Also the amount available on the Bikester website is still the same as when i placed my order.

I have contacted their customer service for an update. Finger crossed.

Would any of the spares you can get from Wolftooth Components help at all? You could change the lever to suit you better?

First run in 10 years today, 2.5 miles done and still a turbo trainer session to do this afternoon. If one thing positive happens from lockdown i will be fitter at the end hopefully.

Is the Deadline coffee sold out? I went to order some more, but there is no option to add it to basket?

There are lots of little fixes which need to be done, so i will be looking at those, although I can still get out to ride at the moment, so that is lucky.

I am also looking at events which are later in the year, I have entered the Hope Pre Peaks, i expect events will need some idea that people are still interested when everything is being cancelled.

We did the Staples2Naples rally a few years back in an old Mondao. It was a good laugh lots of characters racing across Europe.

One memory is the guy on his honeymoon and in the Alps not mentioning to his wife they had no brakes but it was okay as they also had no Oil and he was putting over 5 litres of any oil he could find in the car. The rally was only the first part of a 2 week tour of the south of France.

Great fun, and if you want to have a laugh and like sitting in old cars for 6+ hours a day go for it.

It happens all the time in the summer with people thinking it is a nice walk opposed to climbing a mountain and setting of without any food or water as well as unsuitable clothing and footwear.

    I really hope so!

There are loads of interesting books about people taking on random adventures and challenges.

where Tim Moore rides the length of the Iron Curtain on a communist-era shopping bike is an interesting read.

My V40 D2 went in for this as a matter of good maintenance just before the service was needed, the aftermarket pump was faulty and caused the Head gasket to fail.

Luckily the parts manufacturer has a 3 year warranty on all their parts and the repair is being done under this.

It’s worth checking what parts are being used and any relevant warranties to avoid any potential risks and expensive repairs.

It is great, although you can be sure that you will enjoy it more once you have finished, than when you are riding up the hill at halfway!

I thought the same, i think that shows how much of a mental aspect there is to that sort of feature.

if I can get there once a week, it should happen at some point…..

I was there on Sunday, it really is brilliant. I have done all the drops apart from the last one on the left side. Need to build up to that. progression is the word you hear a lot there.

I think this is going to be a great way to improve in a safe(ish) environment.

I just converted my shimano slx 10 speed to work with the 11-46 sunrace cassette using the wolftooth goat link.

This has worked really well with no problems and I am on the second cassette now as it wore out over the last 18 months.

It’s heat for those long dull hill climbs

Total cheese, perfect TV for not thinking and having a chuckle at how bad/funny it is after a long day.

Basically a low budget Death in Paradise/Midsomer Murders set in Mallorca.

I rode W2 a few weeks back on my Cotic Solaris and it was fine. I would go as far as to say it was more fun because it was a bit more challenging.

I have had one for about 18 months, it is a brilliant bike which i can’t recommended enough.

It has been ridden in Wales, Fort William and a couple of trips to the Alps including the Megavalanche and has been great everywhere.

I would consider it carefully and think about historical flooding in the area to. If the flooding is on the increase then the risk is higher.

Also have a look at the Flood Re scheme and see if you would be eligible for this and for how long you would be able to use it for.

I am aiming for a few long distance events, then some Southern Enduro’s to keep motivated for a second go at the Megavalanche this year.

I have these wheels and they have been amazing over the last 12 months. the only issue I have had was when i got a flat riding the rocks at the mega and bent the rim a bit which we folded back with some pliers and the new tyre went up first time.

I weigh about the same if not a bit more and would not say i was gentle with the way i ride. I have 25psi or less and have not had any issues. Maybe contact Halo for some advice or to pass on the feedback?

Pop into Startline in Tignes, they have always sorted any problems we have had out when we have been over there.

Hopefully they can fix the brakes you have got?

I patched the front of my endura jacket with Gorilla tape 2 years ago and it is still there keeping the water out.

I have the same problem with my Hero 5 I have reset it, changed the memory card and reinstalled the app. All with no resolution to the issue.

I am not sure what the problem is, but i gave up and got a card reader for my iPhone 7 of ebay to avoid the frustration.

Tignes is a great option,we are going again in August.

All the lifts and many activities are free. If your girlfriend is not riding, she should be able to find something to entertain her while you are riding.

I can recommend formula 1 drive to survive on Netflix after watching the whole series over the weekend. A really good insight into the sport and the decisions around it from the same director as Senna and Amy.

It even made me consider going to Silverstone this year until i saw the unbelievable prices to watch cars go round in circles.

I had a short ride with the Cane Creek DB Inine Coil with offset bushings and it was brilliant, it really felt like an upgrade to the bike.

If you are unsure, it is worth seeing if your lbs have demo shocks to try.

I have just got a Cane Creek DB Inline coil shock to replace the Rockshox rc3 I had on there.

I will let you know how it goes after the weekend.
