I switched from Zwift to Rouvy this year and the way it works with my smart turbo seems different. The resistance is harder opposed to just smashing out the miles and climbs in Zwift.

It may be a setup thing or my level of fitness compared to last year though.

I have one in my Fox 36 forks on a Levo SL. I was a bit sceptical due to a lack of understanding.  However it is doing exactly what they say it will do.

I am considering replacing the MRP ramp control on my other bike with one now.

I have Discovery+ as part of my broadband subscription. I just logged in to watch the finals to get a message saying this is not part of my subscription package.

no way am I paying for a subscription I already have to see it.

real shame as I was paying for GCN last year.

I really like the Fox orange forks, they are a bit of fun and look great on my hardtail. IMG_8116

We stayed with Riders Refuge for the first time last year and have booked again this year. From getting off the plane in Geneva to when we left we didn’t have to think about anything other than riding bikes it was all taken care of.

Hi I’m the wife of the poster – sorry to thread-bomb 🙈 but really wanted to tell you my experience which sounds identical to your wife’s.) After ten months of going back and forth to the docs and various blood tests I went private and the GP told me my monthly mood crashes were probably not symptoms of the menopause rather it’s my monthly cycle being kicked up a notch BECAUSE of the menopause. So yes I’m perimonopausal AND premenstrual! A killer combination. On another note I was always aware of how my moods were affecting my husband and this was one of the driving forces for me getting help – your wife cannot ignore this, it’s irresponsible and selfish. She has to admit what’s going on you should not have to live like this. I agree with the posters above saying that if this was a male problem well it wouldn’t be a problem, but likewise if you were a woman posting about your husband being emotionally abusive no one would stand for that and the police would have been involved by now. Do all you can for your wife it’s a truly terrifying and horrific time, but ultimately you have to look after yourself.

I have the Vitus on your ebay link. I have been riding it around Devon lanes and a fair bit of off road to. So far it has been amazing.

The forks are great, they do take a bit of getting used to with the looks, but they really make a difference. Don’t think of them like you would on a mountain bike. They are like a much better version of the Redshift stem which I had on my previous bike.

I really can’t recommend it enough. The value is amazing when you look at the spec. Those forks alone are over £1k

I have just got back from a ride where i started on the trails then did 10 mile on the road. avoiding the strava debate, I was getting time to match roadies on the popular segments but have the flexibility to ride through the woods to get home.

I got this kit from Epic Bleed Solutions, I have not used it yet, but their other kits have been great. I think they are also a dealer for Magura now to.

I still regret getting rid of my Dirt magazines. Especially when you see them selling on Ebay for £7.50 each now!

I do like an old bike magazine and would be interested in a few I am sure. Maybe a Classified list with the available ones listed. Assuming you can be bothered posting them all?

Thanks, that kind of covers the worst fears. You would hope people take better care of things with £1,000 deposits involved.

Thanks, that makes sense. Otherwise its just free courses I guess.

I may be missing something, but in order to apply you have to have the right to work in Scotland. Does that mean anyone with the right to work in England\the UK can also apply?

Thanks, that really helps. Looks like the Epic is the one to go for.

We saw Damon Albarn playing his new album in a church with a string quartet a couple of weeks ago. Amazing atmosphere, he had his friends and family in the front row. Everyone got a copy of the new album, plus he went through some classic Blur tracks.

I used them when I ripped my trousers on the 1st ride. like Peter1979 it looks like an iron on patch. it was a good job and I would use them again if needed. I think it cost £15 plus postage to send them back, so good value opposed to binning them after one ride.

On the fenix 5 you have to enter a passcode to use Garmin pay (I set up Revolut successfully) which makes it harder to use than putting a card in your pocket or having your phone with you.

I got a Microshift wide range cassette 11-48 from Tredz this week. with the standard £5 discount it was £29.99 and arrived in a couple of days free postage.

I have done a couple of rides and it is great.

I ordered mine from Wiggle on Saturday and they arrived on Sunday.

I did the first ride last night using the existing Shimano Cassette as I am still waiting on the amazingly priced Microshift wide range cassette and it was great, nice shifting and no issues.

I would happily recommend this as an option if you are looking or a decent value groupset. I have used this to switch my Orange RX9 to 1x using the Shimano GRX cranks and the Microshift mech and shifters. Once the new cassette arrives I think it will be ideal.

Where do you go to get the battery changed in the Animal watches now. I used to send my Surfers Against Sewage watch direct to Animal as that’s all that the local watch shop did with a £30 admin fee.

Plus it often came back with a free keyring as a bonus.

I spent ages trying to decide between the 5 Pro and the 6 Solar. In the end i couldn’t justify the extra cost and went with the 5 and can confirm that it is an amazing smart sports watch.

Once you get past looking at the various specs and start using it, you don’t notice the differences. the 5 works really well and has even contributed to my decision to start running.

If you want to use the Garmin Pay, i set up a Revolut MasterCard account which works, Visa didn’t. However it is not the easiest to activate, I had hoped you just hold the watch near the payment reader but you need to go to the menu and select the card first.

Based on the saving I would go for the 5 Pro again every time.

I gave my OneUp seat post a service for the first time in over a year of use at the weekend. Follow the instructions and its a really simple process.

it’s worth trying the service before considering replacing it. I have a collection of reverbs waiting to go on ebay as spares or repair as I got fed up with them needing to be sent away.

I got a Harris Tweed jacket for £20 in Oxfam 3 hours before my wedding last year.

Probably not helping but I am still really pleased with that and the look on the woman at the tills face when I told her what I was using it for and when.

Super last minute with a little bit of luck.
