Im happy with the feel of them, would replace them with the same fork, but air. If they save a good amount of weight. Otherwise I won’t waste my time 🙂

    Hi,

    I’m down in Brighton…

I’ve just tried to fill in this spoke calculator and not sure what the Offset is if any?

Cheers fella 🙂 Much appreciated 🙂

I guess there’s always going to be a few that have a bad experience…

If you read the other comments some people have been running them for years… so maybe there are some unlucky ones?

I have now bought all the kit, except the spokes, so not looking for a different hub.

    Cheers though 🙂

    Right… gone for this:

There are no eyelets and I can’t seem to find any online? Do some rims not use them? Will a LBS have them when I get them to build it?

    Cheers guys.

    Any thoughts on rims?

This sounds good, a little bit heavier, but I have had to have the wheel rebuilt as I have broken spokes with heavy riding.

If I’m getting the wheel built by a shop shall I just let me get the spokes? Sounds a bit of a mine field!

    Hey,

no… will take it to a pro to fix it up for me… Just need to get the right parts 🙂

    Also, looking at these spokes.

just wondering what length for a 26″ wheel?

ha, now I need to work out how many holes… guess I could count them tonight or does anyone know?

    giddyrob

    ok, thanks.

I guess that means they only do the 5mm QR. That should work though no? Just not as stiff.

    giddyrob

Cool… so the 135mm 10mm should be ok on the pitch as long as I get a new skewer (10mm), like the one you linked to.

Sorry about sounding stupid on this one… first time I’ve looked into this and don’t want to get the wrong one and have to send it back 🙂

    Cheers

so the 10mm is the diameter and the qr is the thinner quick release?

    giddyrob
    Free Member

it’s quick release at the mo so the 135mm qr should do the trick no?

cool… so it doesn’t sound like a new hub needed then… thats great.

What tools do i need for the job? Pretty handy with the bike, but not touched the wheels before.

THough, any idea of costs to get the job done by pros?

    giddyrob

ok, looks like i can… guessing it’s not too hard job with the right tools.

Question is….. what are the best bearings i can get for a Shimano fh-m525?

    Cheers

can that be done without ripping out all the spokes and having to have the wheel rebuilt? Just thought I might treat myself to a better hub if I need to pay for a wheel build.

Great stuff guys 🙂 good to hear its not too silliy 🙂 was rather fun on the test drive. Not quite as much as the cooper S, but that’s a go kart… Will be missed when it goes 🙁 alas… No room for bike or baby 😉

    Thanks for the reply.

Pretty good at fettling most of my bike, but haven’t touched a hub before. Do I need special tools for the hub to adjust it?

on the up side there’s more than one way to skin a cat! I’ll miss the beeb coverage, but I’m sure in this digital age I’ll figure a way of watching it!

I managed to watch the bbciplayer in NZ so sure there will be ways of doing it. Would rather just enjoy it on the beeb, but if Murdoch the butt hole of the planet wants the air we breath I guess it’ll have to be this way!

I have literally got all my fingers and toes crossed that all the poor people out there with cancer can somehow figure out a way of passing it all to that man! Rid the world of cancer and rid the world of him! Amen!

I would rather F1 had its own channel and I’ll pay for that if it ain’t stupid money.

I hate sky and the freak that runs it!

    Yo,

yep, waking up to this this morning was not good. I hate sky so much and dont want to pay for a whole channel just to watch one good sport on there!

I have set up an fb group to encourage people to boycott the sky subscription and to discuss their thoughts. Please join here and lets hit murdoch where it hurts…. his wallet!

Blimey Stanley, sounds like you've been through the wars with your knees 🙁

After doing a bit more reading and speaking to the wife (gp) a bit more about it, it seems there isn't much of a black and white answer to it. I personally need to build up more instead of going like a bull in a china shop. The weird thing is is that I did snowboarding nearly every weekend in nz last year, where I bent my knees all the time, but I didn't have any problems at all? Any other knee bending activity, including walking, sets it off.

I guess I'm let in a similar situation to a lot of people with this, not much the wiser 🙁

Sounds about right. She probably sees lots of old people.

The sports physio said I need to strengthen my glute and stretch out my itb. He also said to strengthen my inside thigh.

It's good to talk to someone with a similar problem as you know what it's like. I guess I wanna hear "don't stop moving, keep going and do you exercises". The NHS physio didn't help with that.

I am my own worse enemy sometimes though as I go from nothing to all out assault, which I guess the knee can't take.

Right, I'm off to do some exercise and get this think licked!

    Cheers mate 🙂

yeah, used to have a puma and the clutch was stupid hard and offset! Sure that's helped start the problem. I also trained for a 100km ride and over did it some what!

So do you get the discomfort, not pain, after riding? I can be painful if I keep pushing it after it's not happy, but it takes quite a lot to get to that point.

The sports physio said do about 70% of what you normally do and carry on. The NHS physio said stop everything. Problem is, I can't just not use my leg. I have stopped doing things for a while, but to be honest it did nothing. Just came back as soon as I stepped up the training a bit 🙁

Who invented these stupid knees? Think God must have had the committee in on his one…..

    Hey,

I have had my bike properly fitted now so that shouldn't be the problem.

Just using the clutch too much when driving can set it off 🙁 Want to build more strength, but anything I do exasperates it. Catch 22 🙁

simple doesn't usually equate to easy!

Do you think any old muppet designed apples look?

    Trust me 🙂
