    Love the colour choice Coz!

Moonlanders are ridiculous, that’s why I own one and love it to bits :)

    Now time to ride!

Krampus with dirt wizards ( when they land) would of been a riot round that course!

There’s now a definite chance that you’ll all see real firework rockets before the Steel Cotics arrive, I’m not in any rush which is good, as I dont think they will be here this year.

Its not just hype they are fun.

I bought an On One Fatty at the start of the year and loved it to bits, and then along came a Moonlander and now a Krampus. Its a very different type of ride you get from them, totally big kid giggling, but dont think that they smooth trails out a make riding easy by any means, yes they are specifically for soft ground conditions but the steeper head angle and short chainstays on the Fatty make it a hoot on any trail centre terrain that isnt rocky to the degree where our getting bounced around everywhere by the uncontrolled tyre damping (like GT red/blue)

The moonlander is an absolute barrel of laughs, fitted with 4.7 Bud and Lou tyres its a monster, and leaves a smile on your face for so long after a ride people will think your mad.

The Krampus, as you know is a different beast, but a true surly beast nonetheless, very fun on ‘trails’, I did a 50 odd km ride on mine yesterday, lots of different terrain, from off piste singletrack to fireroads, mud, bogs, swampy rock fest a boggy rockfests, the krampus lapped it all up and left a big smile on my face which is still there now as my legs ache like hell

Don’t be sceptical but dont jump on the bandwagon straight away, try one first, fat biking on the beach is still mtbing but its a special way and place to ride, or try a Krampus on some natural trails, horses for courses, not just a fat tyred bike for everything.

DOH – found the answer here, its in the air chamber volume adjustment

BOS make exactly 2 tunes for the Vip’r. Called Tune 1 and surprise surprise Tune 2.

What does the “O ring quantity for positive and negative air chamber” refer to then as shown on the right hand side of the table here?:

turning my Soul into a singlespeed, though doubtless I’ll feel less keen on its maiden gearless outing

You’ll be right, give it six months and you may even consider singlespeeding the rocket!

Nope no pics that I’ve seen, so were just gonna have to use our imagination, but Kawasaki green will be fairly loud.

Bos Vip’r, heard good things about them.

Aye, the rocket of Cy’s I tried was lovely on the trail, climbed beautifully with the shock in the ‘soft’ position.

Did you pre-order it with them directly or through a dealer?

I’ve ordered mine through Cotic direct as they were good enough to let me demo one back in June, just took me a while romancing with a certain carbon number to decide that the steel rocket was the one for me.

I’ll see your June, and raise you a February….

Yep, knew that I would be waaaaay down the queue, what shock are you off for noberinthefridge?

Get signed up and do it, its a great race and an awesome day out

Stage 1 is a cracking descent – mind the waterbars and dont puncture!

The river crossing was nay bad last year, you could ride 95% of it and was only knee deep at worst

Then into the hike-a-bike, you’ve never seen so many false summits in your life, but its great!

Stage 4 was a right technical blast as well.

True, you can ride the route any day of the year, but the atmosphere on fort william high street as you start is amazing :D

    Enjoy!

Great pics. I very nearly took my fatty out to the alps for a laugh this year, only deciding not too as I would’ve died trying to ride it in Verbier and put others around me at risk from falling off their bikes laughing. Tight switchbacks on a fat bike might have been ‘character building’ :D

I’ve just had a very similar alps emergency, without going into too many details, we found that the swiss emergency service asked for a smartphone app called Echo112 to pinpoint our location, luckily someone there had this. Basic first aid knowledge, a comprehensive first aid kit and a couple of space blankets are things that we can all equip ourselves with.
I wish you a speedy recovery fella.

As the owner of a YT wicked, I have now just ordered a Cotic Rocket, something I should’ve done instead of buying the YT!

Probably about three weeks, but you’ll have to fly solo fairly soon to make sure all the little buggers are out. Enjoy the dry humping of frozen peas, californication is a good watch to sympathize with while your initially recovering.

TF has supplied 2 custom CCDB’s and push linkages, I sent my push linkage back as the original advert text didnt make it clear that it would work with my CCDB.

Hoping to get one of these when they are available in 5-6 weeks, does anyone know about the shock choices?, will the new Float X be an option?

Well, I’m in yet another ‘warranty issue’ with YT and have not ridden my bike for the last 7 weeks, as YT have been their usual sketchy selves with communications.

On the plus side, when I come to sell the bike, it will be in amazing condition cos its been in Germany more and sat here unridden due to problems more than it has been used.

Time to sell I think and lesson learned.

Save your money, dont buy from them

    gibbonarms
    Free Member

Personally, I wouldn’t buy another as their customer service is cr@p, mine’s been back to Germany for over a month, now another problem has developed and communications are difficult to say the least.
if I didn’t have another bike to ride instead all this time I’d of been really bouncing.
Would I do it again? NO!!
They are incredible value for money but so are lots of other bikes like the Whyte G150 which you can buy from your UK shop and have a lot less hassle dealing with them.
YT industries are a right pain to deal with I’m sorry to say.

    Yep, same problem, and front!

Emailed on-one a couple of months ago and they said they did not know anything about it and would get back to me with a solution, still nothing back from them.

I just check them before every big descent, turn them 90-180 degrees after closing the QR lever and that seams to help.

It is very annoying as I dont know any other QR skewers that are long enough for the 170mm hub, unless hope make them for the fatso?

Yep the new DB air with the Climb Switch looks just the shock to stick on the back, now the long wait to see when its actually available, and I best order a rocket with no shock…..

How would a CCDB air be? Has anyone fitted one (or the coil version) and has some experience as after my problems with BOS suspension I’m more than happy to walk away from them for good.

Folk posted that beachriding is boring and since this happend i lost interest in contributing to the forum lately…

Shame that Bruce, I enjoyed your posts and updates, must admit that it is normally the last place that I upload pics and am often several weeks behind them as I choose to share through FB mainly. If beach riding is boring I hope they spread the word, I like quiet beaches :D

Aviemore (for a still to be announced date) for a highland meet, with a Saturday ride on Cairngorm and Sunday beachride at Moray…

I’d be up for that and maybe sneak a Torridon trip in afterwards if I can get the time off, keep us posted!

Thats lurvely! Very tempted to upgrade mine.

My 2010 Enduro weighs in at a hair under 30lbs (with pedals), built with a set of Fox 36 160mm Vans, reverb, tubeless, m4’s and some carbon bits, and in my mind its the forks that are the cherry on the enduro cake :D

I’m having trouble leaving it for another bike.

Merely a point of order but liteville are made in Taiwan to German specs

Is this true, as I’ve also heard from people trying to sell the frames that they are made in Germany?

    Tried 3 301’s last night:

    Med: 140mm with 26 inch
    Large: 160mm, 34’s and 650b
    XLarge: 160mm, 34’s and 650b

All different builds and feel very different to each other, very nice well made bikes, slightly tempted….. 8O

CYB is a whole different BEAST!

I ride Dalby a lot, not just the red, but the black and off-piste trails, and I would say that they are like chalk and cheese, but depends on your route of torture choice, we did the Beast of Brenin but others are shorter and just as interesting. Enjoy it, try Coed Llandegla and Penmachno whilst your over that way as well :-)
