While you’ve got them apart Tcut and polish the stanchions, the last ones I’ve done are night and day noticeable for reducing stiction.

Don’t drink Mutzig, and have the week off drinking all other alcohol as well, best way to maximise your time there.

The raw tint this year on the banshees is stunning.

I’ve upgraded my prime v2 to a titan this year, the new ks2 linkage is great. Enjoy!

We got our cocker spaniel just before lockdown via gumtree, prices since then have soared to around 4 x times the previous price, so puppies are now in excess of 2k and dogs that require rehoming are around 1k.

The odd thing I’ve noticed on there is the amount of young dogs now coming for sale as people’s lifestyles change/people chose to cash in?

Odd times, but I’d wait at least 6 months and try the dog homes first.

Not heard one comment on wheel size, guess it doesn’t matter.

Bruce aka Coastkid on here has run his Wednesday in many guises, blutos, dropper, 29 plus, 650 plus, 4″ fat and fatter. Loads of info over on his blog page: http://coastkid.blogspot.com

Besides the wider bb, the geo is v similar for a Krampus. If I didn’t have an Ice Cream Truck and a Krampus, then I’d probably have a Wednesday.

Just sold a really nice Devinci Dixon carbon cheap, still got the Pace RC41 150mm forks from it with a straight steerer if they are of any interest, and loads of tyres/wheels.

    Surlys hate carbon.

Fact, my ICT would try and kill me if I put any carbon on it.

I’m also tempted by a V3 Prime or Titan, Dirt Merchants in Colorado have them in stock at $2000 for a frame (no shock) inc UK delivery which I didnt think was bad.

I presume these sports direct frames are part of Isons stock dumping now Banshee have gone for direct sales?

Great frames and not as heavy as a boat anchor.

The 2017 reworked frames mainly got rid of the seat tube/down tube brace and seat tube/top tube braces (where the Spitfires used to crack a lot) and used a lot more hydroforming. Runes and Primes had larger tubes in these areas with flaring, and didn’t seam to suffer the same fate.

If there had been an XL I’d of probably bought a spare.

Here’s that ebay link if it might save someone a few pennies:

They are such an odd aesthetic frame design that only ‘a mother could love’, but as an owner of (coughs) two, I thought I’d speak up…..

I first demoed one at Ard Rock, 2 years ago I think, albeit only on the demo loop but I loved it. The rear linkage feel is superb on the trail and doesn’t get hung up on square edged hits, instead, it gives you a little turbo kick as you come over them. On technical traverses it was excellent and responds to shift in body weight really well. I looked at the price tag, and laughed.

Fast forward to mid last year and a frame sailed through my browser window on ebay at sensible money, so I jumped at it. Its built, ridden, hammered and used. For the lower end trail type of riding ie, about xc, but not enduro, it’s a really comfortable nice place to be on a ride. Yes the angles are a little outdated (for a new bike….) the reach is short so I’m on an XL, as I like a 485mm, the head angle could do with being a couple of degrees slacker, seat angle steeper, and the standover is a little tall. Yes it does have the most basic of basic monarch air cans and coming ftom someone who likes the adjustment of my CC Inline Coil and the time I’ve spent on a Push Eleven Six, it’s a basic shock, but with the bikes linkage it leaves you longing for nothing more in that department! It works and it’s fun, but it’s no DHX2.

In fact, I liked my first Wolf Ridge so much that when I noticed Marins old distributor Paligap, selling demo bikes and the odd frame off online, I grabbed another in a different colour (don’t ask, I’m a Bikeaholic).

Do I need another? No! Have I just found another for sale cheaper than that chain reaction one in the link above? Yes…..
On ebay is a full XL bike, the seller is ‘Tricycleresort’ ie. Its the CHIGGLE warehouse it’ll probably do 1.5 K ish and someone will get a great deal and a whole lot of bike, probably 25% of retail for it.

    Just my proverbial two cents.

Just flew into nz yesterday, Auckland bio was fine, didn’t even open the bike box up happy with how I’d cleaned it. Bikes were spotlessly clean anyway.

Ff helmet went on with hand luggage and was fine down to Queenstown

I drilled two 5mm holes then filed through with a round file, then filed in the direction of the cable hose and cleaned off with some fine grit.  The worst part of the job was cleaning the drilling swarf.

There’s one of his G19 29er frames up for sale on pinkbike at the moment.

i bought his WC frame he raced at Fort William this year and even though it’s a 27.5, a 29er fits in the rear fine and clears on full bump with room to spare.

In addition to my Ice Cream Truck I have a Banshee Prime. Just swapped the ccdb air out for an inline coil and now on a Push Elevensix shock and the improvement is incredible. Highly recommended although does leave you wanting a better fork to match the shocks capability.

Can’t get on with how the Geometrons pedal uphill (wheel flop), but don’t mind them for DH use which is why I have a G19.

Used to run my rocket with a ccdb coil which was also excellent, pics on Bruce’s blog.

I’ll be out there from December as well for a few months, it’ll be my third trip out there in the last 4 years.

I’ve bike packed it on my Krampus before (great fun and get to feel independent and free) and then been out with (the now) ex for a more touristy trip for a couple of months.  This time I’m hopefully taking the DH and 29er FS bikes, straight down to QT to hit some gondy laps on the big bike, then possibly bike pack on my 29er FS sleeping overnight in hostels.

Loads of riding options but the highlights are Alexandria, Craigieburn, Ghost Road, Hamner which are all in the south oddly enough…….!

We had the same issue there a week last Friday, we were queued right back to the turning circle, then 4 buses appeared.  Bunching can easily be avoided.  Think we got in about 9 runs that day, very poor.

Rode Revs last Friday (22 runs) and Antur last Saturday (18 runs), granted I was on my own on the DH rig and I didn’t hang around, first off the trailer and beat the bus back down, great fun even in the rain.

BPW aren’t the gold standard in uplift and if it wasn’t as trail orientated as it was, would suffer from running such a poor uplift.

From a supermarket try Angry Orchard or Aspels Organic.

Mail order then go for Lillys Cider, Pig Swill is excellent:

I ran mine with the BOS Vip’R rear shock and set of Surly Instigator wheels so 50mm rims and 2.75 tires, it was a riot.

Liam @ cycleworks is very good, he’s built a few for me now and never had any issues.

There’s also JRA out on Clifton Moor, not used them but they seem to be fairly well respected.

When I was there last weekend a lad with a fat bike and 3.8’s was on the uplift. They fitted it into a slot just behind the axle.

    At Llandegla on Friday:

The group of 6 ebikers riding with saddles down then stopped for a group spliff at Snowdon view, saw them later to witness the bromance of high 5’s and fisting.

I’ve used them a few times for everything from bikes, frames, 4×4 wheels, snowboards and wakeboards, always delivered and intact.  Fairly poor on tracking but works out ok.

Thanks guys, I’m 6’2″ and currently on a 475mm reach with a 30mm stem, so the Following V1 in XL at 457mm might feel a little short.  I’ve never had the chance to demo one as the only size they had at Ard Rock last year was a medium.

I’d be buying through biketart so that would be my first port of call for warranty I guess, then Evil themselves.

Did you ever see the mk2 that DJM built for Colin McRae, basically an updated grp4 car to grpA standards.  If only Boreham was still in operation today…….

The Prime is a great frame, I’ve spent the last year on mine and have settled on a 160mm FAST damper RS Pike up front and currently changing from the DB Air (no issues) out back to a DB Coil IL. Its a beast, and I run mine with a 650b rear (in the mid setting) for extra giggles, it works in the low setting also but it becomes so manual happy that you struggle to keep the front wheel on the ground.

The only thing close to it was the Pivot Switchblade that I demoed at Ard Rock last year, great bike, but I couldn’t stomach the 6K price tag for a full carbon build.

Absolutely everything I’ve ridden after my Prime feels like it has a flexy back end, the prime is so laterally stiff, you can drive it through on the front wheel (I’m on an XL with a 475mm reach), pin it and the rear sticks.

I’ve had an alpine five, codeine and Nicolai and the Prime stands head and shoulders above them all. I’m tempted by the Evil Following at Biketart reduced to £1485, but I prefer aluminium and not to have to deal with Evil in a possible warranty claim as a few of my riding buddies have already experienced recently.

They seam to be clearing out their 2017 stock and the carbon scout frames have come down a lot, biketart had them at £1675 but using their XMAS10 discount code gets you that down to £1507.

The difference in weight between the two frames is around 0.9lbs (410g) according to transition, something that you could easily shed off your current alu scout by changing tyres.

Upgrading the wheels and shock (CC Coil inline?) might be your best way to go, unless you wanted to go for the new bells and whistles SBG 2018 frames which you’d need to buy a shorter offset fork and boost wheels to fit into it as well.

Give Andy a call at Yorkshire Mountain Biking in Easingwold, he knows the frames and parts well, and should be able to help you out.

When I took mine, they opened the box and could see how clean the tyres and the soles of my riding shoes were do were happy at that. Under the saddle and inside the bottom of the steerer tube should also be cleaned.

I’ve got a 26er Cotic Rocket which is running 26plus so 2.75 Dirt Wizards on 50mm Rabbit Hole rims, original 26 fox avalanche vans fork, its a plush fun beast but weighs as much as a small planet even in singlespeed guise. But its muchos fun.

Anything particular you want to know? Its the lack of a decent suspension fork that stops me rebuilding mine.

Yep, got one. Lives in a box since I last killed it hucking off a 15 foot drop in Glencoe.
