I’m very pleased to see that both my Trailstar and Pitch are cropping up in this thread. The Pitch will be visiting the Alps with me next week. Ooh yeah.

Too much conflicting info on here to even begin to try to correct. Get along to your optician of choice and take their advice. Try to find a qualified Dispensing Optician, though not all stores employ them. Shop about if you feel that you’re being ripped off, but remember that these lenses are more expensive than you have purchased before. Whether you end up at Specsavers or a posh independent they all offer differing levels of lens quality, chose the best you can afford and treat them accordingly.

Company I used to work for would have a whole day long meeting once a month, the purpose of which was, I’m sure, to make me look for a new position without a bunch of meandering, directionless sycophants at the helm.

Carlos, did you throw the second blanket to me? Me and my GF spent about half an hour waiting with Martin until the medics arrived. Then she beat me across the 60k finish line by more than 5 minutes.

I took my Pitch round 60k of cyb enduro at the weekend, complete with 2.5 tyres and a single ring. I suffered though.

I carefully filed down the end of a set of needlenose pliers and drilled a notch into them so that they would work as a quick link splitter. They were great, then they broke.

Passenger (3 up) in new style Skyline GTR with >700bhp. More than 180mph, tried to Endomondo it but weirdly it just gave me an error. UK roads too.

To get a bit of biking in whilst you’re there, contact themountainbikeadventure dot com, based in Lagos on the Algarve, amazing scenery and excellent riding, guided day rides available with a really good guide. They’re on tripadviser as well. I had a great time there, top notch Saracen Ariel hire bikes available at a sensible price too.

why feet side by side and not skateboard style fore and aft? the video scooters look unbalanced as all weight is at the back, with no opportunity to shift back and forth. Silly.

House party one night, several reprobates passed out on the floor. Daz suddenly stands up, lurches towards the tv ang begins peeing into the open top of the Playstation. A quick thinking Jim jumps up and guides the still sleep-pissing Daz down the hall and out of the front door.

Was a bit of a bummer as the playstation stopped working… For a couple of weeks anyway. There remained a crust of piss-rime at the back of the disc section though and it used to smell once it got warm. Oh how we laughed.

Googling myself returns nothing, but my mate’s alter ego is a gay porn actor of some note, starring in such gems as ‘Socket’, ‘The Gay B&B of Terror’ and most recently ‘Pride’.

First time out on some superlight xc race wheels, got a little over excited and hopped off a small root, landed slightly wafty and the wheel swallowed the rear mech. Outcome – busted mech, chewed chain, several new spokes and new hanger required. Oh and my ride was cut short too…

We were doing a stread 68(ish) mph, they left us (relatively) standing. My friend who was driving had to get up to nearly 90 (by his speedo) to keep pace (not condoning this sort of speed at all).

NYP vehicle maintained speed in excess of 80 for the next 12 miles and overtook on 14 occasions without indicating.

Was going to nip into the local police station to have a word but was rather overtaken by events at home.

So you were speeding to begin with, then sped up to chase a car that you thought was driving dangerously, and followed it for a number of miles whilst matching it’s ‘dangerous’ speed, I’m assuming you also had to partake in similarly risky overtakes though maybe you used indicators? And you think the police will be interested in THEIR driver breaking the law?

LOL at being overtaken by events at home, was Topgear on?

pigeon flavoured carnage ensued after I hit a flying rat at just over 100mph. Clipped it with the very top of the windscreen, all I saw in the rear view was a cloud of feathers. hey ho…

Was a passenger in a car that hit a fox, again at an offensive speed. My mate said ‘I think we should go back and check it’s alright, I’m in the RSPCA you know’. Despite this being around 15 years ago, he still pays his £10 per month RSPCA donation. We didn’t go back…

How about a suspension bridge that’s based on a Newton’s Cradle (swingey exec toy thing), obviously a huge stressed executive giant would need to be employed to set things off. Or maybe just get some dragons an’ that?

managed to find the unedited original, I used a function called ‘lomography’ it’s a retro camera application that gives a dark halo and increases contrast so far as i can tell.

Molgrips, thanks, still getting ‘to grips’ (see what I did there) with camera, hope to make the most of what I’ve got.

I’m new to all this camera stuff, I’ve got no lenses / lights / tripod. I did this with a canon with it’s stock (kit?) lens, an anglepoise lamp with a paper bag over it (fire hazard!) and the camera balanced on a pile of books. I should’ve swept the floor and cleaned the chainring, but I’m pleased with the result none the less. Can’t remember if I made it black and white in photoshop of whether the lighting just made it look that way. Goddamit I’m useless…

EDIT – just had a good look at the large original, chain is a bit goldish and hub is a bit reddish, the pic above is not photoshopped, just small.

I doubt much will change really, I’ll pop in to feed the lady down the street’s cat, as she’ll be bound to have forgotten it in her excitement to get up to heaven, and I don’t think they let cats in, due to St Peter’s allergies. I’ll also pinch the fellow next door’s ladder, as I’ve had my eye on it for a while. His wife might still be around though, as she’s a bit slutty.

Rebuild of my ’50s Holdsworth roadbike here There’s a lot of demented ranting (from me) but plenty of good advice from other forum members.

It was easy enough to get parts despite being so old, fairly cheap to do and good fun. The bike gets regular use and has proven reliable for approaching 6 months with minimal attention.

only ‘good’ crash vid is available by searching pinkbike for ‘fender bender freakout’ as all concerned are uninjured, despite making a hell of a big deal over a little fall. Grovelling, sincere apologies and an epic soundtrack, what more could you ask?

I’ll not post a link as it’s already probably been seen by many.
