Get a pair of those cross country skis with the wheels on them! All the benefits of running without the stress on the legs.

Bought and fitted one from SDS London recently(Cockburn was the manufacturers name). Went in surprisingly easy just need to make sure everything is plumb/level. Frees up a lot of space in the bathroom that a conventional door would have used up!

Put the insulation boards down on top of a layer of conventional insulation last year. Not to stressful! Things to watch out for are cables and pipes running across joists and mark positions of the joists so you know where to put your screw into.

Best place to look for a club would be British Swimming website. Most clubs would be glad of extra members regardless of age. Took me 30 years to start swim training again!

Did a job up there on the Police mast a couple of years back. Drove a 4×4 over that last bit at 70mph not big and clever I know. Both times we were up there it was pretty foul weather(mid-July) and we invited the walkers in to the building at the base of the mast. Don't think the police would have been to happy if they had arrived to find 20 hill walkers eating sandwiches and drinking tea in there.

Have to agree with Smee sounds like they need broken in! Used to play with a pipe band and wore ghillie brogues and they were excellent. The hand knitted socks on the other hand were terrible and had to put insoles inside them!

Ask Spaceman(plays with Stow PB)how he breaks his in!

Three in Bathgate, Balaclava man saw him in Tesco about 20 mins ago, balaclava on no matter what the weather used to ‘smoke’ a pipe but has went all healthy and binned it. Bottle Archie trawls the whole of West Lothian looking for returnable glass bottles now retired. The last nutter and now departed was Paddy Irish guy who used to sing and shout out stories of his time in the army, sometimes carrying a shovel! Think the Police took it away after he tried to cut somebodies head off with it.

Also used to go to Falkirk Tech and some of the patients from Bellsdyke used to go there on day release!

Rickos, apparently blonde scottie is a wanabee wag. Although she is from Methil which means she may be a WAG to someone who plays for the mighty East Fife FC!

Was at the south end of Lake Garda last year very busy and a bit of a dump with loads of scantily clad females waiting on buses(strange thing was they never stood at the bus stops!!)! Seemed to be the further north you go up the Lake the better it is. We were there at the start of July and it was roasting hot. Second the Dolomites idea really picturesque went to a place called Molvena. We also spent a couple of days over at a beach next to Salo.

    Thanks for the link ton!
Apparently Armstrong tried to get Indurain to come out of retirement in ’99 to ride for him.

Another one for me Dave Narey’s ‘toe poke’ against Brazil at the ’82 world cup.

Also England’s last competitive game at Wembley.

Had a second hand tandem buggy. Very heavy but it was 9 years ago no major problems with it AFAIR.

Have to agree about the Arsenal one. Was it televised on a Friday night?

My favourite was Indurain’s breakaway to Liege in ’95 Bruyneel’s quote ‘it was like sitting behind a motorbike’.

Snowslave, I was looking at the Decathlon pop ups last week thinking about getting the £150 4 sleeper.

A few guys we work with have the 2 man pop ups and the day tent for saving on the overnight money and occasional wild camping, nothing bad said about them.

Stay in a lot of B+B’s for work! Things my work buddy and I look for are in no particular order

    Clean and welcoming.
If a twin room decent space between the beds.
En-suite with a bath and a shower(helps if the shower is powerful and hot)
Good breakfast with decent bacon and sausages.
Comfy bed with a duvet big enough to cover you.
    Black out curtains.
    Window that opens
Good toilet and sink combo (the ability to have a bowel movement and a spew at the same time is handy)
    Free Wi-Fi

    Things we don’t like
    Carpet in the bathroom.
Decent sized room not cluttered with pointless chairs and tables.
    Out of date UHT milk.
Glade plug-ins in every second socket.

I could go on all night

    Good luck

Have had the very same quandry at work! Remote radio tower in Dumfries and Galloway, thought I would manage to nip it until I got back home. The previous nights Rogan Josh had other ideas though. Tried a couple of number ones to ease the pressure but to no avail. Had one attempt propped/squatting agaist the least windy side of the radio building(don’t know if it was the shock of the cold) but no action. Back to work, 30 secs later back outside trousers down and letting all the badness out. Only thing for wiping duties were hand wipes and christ did they sting!

Work through a company called Peak Performance. Officially PAYE getting paid minimum wage then 10 times a year I receive an employee benefit trust seems pretty safe from the taxman, they tried to prosecute the phones4u guy a couple of years back and got nowhere!Compared to the guys who are Ltd company I come out with the same as them. No hassles with keeping receipts or doing tax returns.

Telecomms engineer for a mobile operator, working on a 2g upgrade(rumours of 5 years work). Just had a pay rise as well. Happy-ish days. Not a bad job some unsocialable hours and a fair bit of travelling, but other days 10 minute job and paid for a 10 hour day. Also get to go to some strange locations all those masts atop hills and buildings.
