Have you road brake cleaner on the rims mate? Not much that won’t shift.

No, but used commercial grade paint thinners

Sounds like you don’t know what you’re doing to be honest (…and neither do they). Your tires weren’t set up properly, and I’ve no idea why a proper shop would go down the road of fitting gorilla tape to someone’s rims….but with the margins bike shops make… you can’t really honestly expect a new wheel especially on a C2W voucher.

I’d just fit a new tubeless tape and get on with life. Sorry to be a ball breaker.

I’ve fitted tubeless myself on at least 8 bikes in the last 10 years with 100% success.

the problem I have is I now have a wheel which this lot have totally saturated in baby oil or some other slppy substance that after daily wipes with thinners and de-greaser is still sliipy as hell.

so’just fitting tubeless’ isn’t that simple if the surface of the rim is still slippy as no rim tape is sticking to it. Agreed their margins aren’t great but they got £100 of other stuff when I was there and they’ve been paid for previous tape an sealant.

I’m four hours of driving and 160 miles out of pocket as well as more sealant and £10 of Co2 cartirdges out of pocket.

I’ve got ZERO confidence they are actually going to resolve the issue.

Don’t use co2, it doesn’t last as long as a pump with air…and it seems to last even less time in tubeless.

I use Co2 to mount the tyre quickly, track pump won’t mount the bead quickly.

Thanks Guys, look slike elbow grease is the word.
I’m not taking the wheel back, the shop is 40 miles away from where I live and they’ve had two chances to do the job properly.

I just left them a pants review on Google in full detail.

google On yer Bike Burnley and look at reviews..

    Utter bollocks.

That was my initial thought too

I’m sure tyre manufacturers spend millions on research just to decide to rotate the tyre the other way…

I’ve suffered with panic attacks for over 30 years and I’d suggest the following advice.

Wether it’s a phobia or stress, THE only way to move forward is to get to the root of the problem.

Beta blockers are for a physical condition, they don’t help at all.

If you’re stressed then you need to manage the cause of the stress.

I’ve got a 25 year phobia of flying and last month, for the second year running I bailed at the airport for a two week family holiday.

I’ve tried every sort of CBT under the sun and whilst hypnosis has been an absolute life saver for me, it hasn’t helped with my phobia.

Headspace is a great app to just distract the mind and clear it out for a bit, as is Calm.

We all work differently but it’s taken me 30 years to realise I’ve been masking the symptoms and not addressing the real issue.

You need to find out what actually makes you feel the way you do.

    Then you can conquer it.

Yes, I’m aware of that, it’s more how it feels after it. I’ve been told you have to stay still for up to 24 hours as the room’s spinning.

What was your experience of it?

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Checked with IT and no issues as we only really use the phones as phones and when I joined they simply threw me a new iPhone and SIM so I know it’s not restricted in any way.

    Questions I have are:

Is it easy to manage contacts for different Sims? Both sets are backed up to Google on different accounts.

Can you have two WhatsApp profiles? I have it for personal and we have a group at work.

Is it easy to identify which SIM to select when calls come in/outgoing calls.

    TIA

I had a GLA for 12 months last year and thought it was reasonably well built but by god it was noisy inside, felt like a citroen AX inside.

in the last month my missus has just bought a new E Class Cabriolet with the Premium Plus pack which has the full LCD display like the new A Class and it’s got to be one of the best systems i’ve seen. It’s got so many features and useful stuff it beggars belief, not to mention 360 degree camera which triggers when you get near a kerb so you can see your wheels and don’t dent them.

I’ve just taken delivery of a new Audi A4 Black Edition which feels quite old in comparison, dials and buttons control a really clunky system that is constantly asking you to OK stuff, can’t handle two phones at once cos I didn’t specify the £2k tech pack, feels ancient in comparison.

The new A class just doesn’t even look like a Merc now, they’ve gone into Blandville big time…

Had one in 2013, 5 samples later and it hadn’t worked.

Second one in late 2013 and worked.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen for 24 hours and that was it.

Went through a bit of pain whilst standing to attention for a little while but soon subsided.

I’m now 45 and I can’t go anywhere without wanting to P and in the last few weeks started to leak a little after using the loo.

I was told it could be down to the snip but possibly my age.

Had tests and my P stream is weak, offered tamsulosin but the side effects scared the life out of me. Back to PC muscle exercises and cut cafeine out

Interesting thread this.. I was just about to post “Physio or chiropractor?” Until I saw this.

I pick up loads of niggles being a lardy lad but also sporty and swear by my sports physiotherapist as he always fixes me in one go for £32.

However, I’ve had a trapped nerve in my arm for over a month and after 5 weekly sessions and lots of ‘nerve flossing’ exercises I’m no further forward.

Constant dull ache in my lower arm, pins n needles and crap sleep.

I had this in 2010 after going over the bars and traction relieved me of the pain, so I bought a traction kit and every year or two it comes back slightly and normally gone after 20 mins on the traction, but even that’s not shifting it this time.

So, my question was going to be, shall I try a chiropractor instead of physio, not so sure how after reading this!

Asked doctor for physio but I suspect we’ll be out of Europe by the time that comes through….

Thanks for the considered reply, Wallop, I’ve got 20 years of construction spec sales and numerous training courses like Howitt’s so I’m comfortable with who to target in general, it’s just who within an architects practice would assume the role. As a spec sales i’d be dealing with everyone you mentioned above to defend a spec, I’m curious to know who would create the spec in a practice.

In LED lighting, architects have very little input, unless it’s architectural lighting, but I know the type of flooring and colour etc wouldn’t be left to a contractor (unless it#s of course D & B) but even then if the architect has novated with the project they may well still have influence.

The mileage penalty is only relevant if you hand the car back to the finance company.

Get a valuation of the car, sell it privately and have the buyer pay off the finance direct to finance company and you keep any difference or put the difference in yourself. The early termination is a bit of a misnomer as it’s classed as negative on a credit file.

Yes Wallop, I have two interviews, both with flooring manufacturers.

I’m currently in LED lighting which is a total mess of an industry at the moment, I want to get out of electrical and into different side of construction sales.

    Is it for your brother-in-law?

    LMAO!!!

    Nope.

It’s for buildings such as schools, hospitals, clean rooms and ESD type environments.

I’ve got an opportunity to move out of a lengthy career in Electrical bases Sales Specification work and into flooring.

My traditional customer base is M & E consultants but in this role it will be with architects, which I have dealt with in the past but only in electrical based capacity.

I’m doing a load of research and my query is more about who in a practice would specify flooring product.

Important data on a USB stick, and no PC – thats odd.    I assume you have a smartphone, find someone friendly to drop the files in your Google Drive or Apple drive, so you have a backup you can access / email to yourself / whatever.

she has most of her stuff on various cloud stuff, but this one last USB device hasn’t been uploaded and her laptop has died, so she has no way up getting it from USB to cloud, except the USB.

I’m trying to ascertain if it’s uplaoded direct from the usb it’ll leave copies on the work laptop…

I’ve had two 520d’s and the engine will be fine. It won’t need a run out to clear the DPF as it has a re-gen system built in but they’re generally a clean engine anyways.

My only worry would would be if it’s a manual, the clutch may be worn on such little mileage as they have good torque and if the previous owner was a bit on/off with the clutch then it may feel a bit like an on/off switch and a replacement will be mega money.

Always go for an auto on a BMW Diesel if you can.

otherwise a reliable monster mile car.

I’ve done the mac and parallels thing and it’s a total ball ache. I just removed parallels and used MS Office for Mac stuff. You can buy a version on amazon for about £10 for a year which will give you a suite of MS Office stuff. I used to pay £8 a month for it until I bought it and installed it from Amazon.

I’m selling an iMac Mid 2014 model (bought 2015) for £425 by the way ;-)

I’ve had 2 M Sports and the Luxury isn’t much different to drive, no real difference in suspension just smaller alloys which means cheaper tyres. I had 245/35/19’s on mine and replacements where £330 a corner. M Sport will hold better value and have a slightly better spec.

    I’m confused. You say:

At the moment i’m mainly eating meat and veg, no bread, no potatoes and no pasta.
    but then:

couple of kebabs a week and a steak and chips on a friday night with a few beers
So three nights out of seven you actually are still eating bread or potatoes.

    and

For lunch often have a sandwich from sainsburys
That coke zero isn’t good for you, either!

You need to introduce some consistency into your eating, perhaps with some help from something like Joe Wicks or Dr Chaterjee or something similar. Your diet seems a bit too haphazard at the moment for it to be successful.

Sandwiches, kebabs, chips, chocolate and coke zero on a regular basis don’t really smack of a healthy diet to me.

well now you put it like that

when you say ‘loads’ of chocolate, how much really ? What else are you eating ? What’s breakfast, lunch etc usually.

4 or 5 bars of chocolate such as double decker etc.

For lunch often have a sandwich from sainsburys. I only drink coke zero which i just can’t stop drinking that either.

when i cook a main meal it’s normally either a chicken breast with a plate of veg or something like chilli made to slimming world/hairy Bikers less than 500 calories specs.

couple of kebabs a week and a steak and chips on a friday night with a few beers.

if I cut the chocolate out i’d probably lose 6,000 calories a week alone, but when I do is when I feel like i’m about to bonk.

I’ve stopped cycling as i’m trying more low resistance stuff like swimming and walking because I can do them and not feel the need to sugar up
