What is the appropriate term for a male overtaking a female? Bloke’d Guy’d Boy’d ????

i’d go for something that is alpha male version of chick……

IIRC the guy who filmed that did it on about a £9K budget and won quite a few awards. Very well done indeed. I used to text when driving until one dark damp night I looked up and there was a young girl in the middle of the road who was also texting and thought the 3″ white line would be a safe place to stand as I and a car on opposite carriageway passed her at the same time. I shook me up as if I was driving carefully I could have given her more room/stopped and not literally skim her with my door mirror

Pop into Twelve50 bikes in Frodsham en route and they’ll give you some pointers.

The way marked trails are generally basic and Delamere is a place for the locals who know the cheeky trails. I must have been 30 times now and still couldn’t navigate my way around. Parking wise it’s easiest to park at the visitors centre as there really isn’t anywhere to park for free.

I’m sure people like Graham and Dave Dodd will be along soon to give pointers, they know they area exceptionally well

    Responding to a few comments:

The OP mentions a 500ml bottle of coke in his post.

that is a very light day! Normally 3-4 cans of coke  I’d rather give it up than drink diet crap. the caffeine withdrawal is awful, headaches and shakes for a week when I stop

If you are bored/need to do something with your hands I reckon munching on carrots and fruit inthe car along with a litre of water to hand.

It’ll only take a short while but all you need to do is recondition yourself mentally.

I’ve thought about the carrot/fruit bit, love carrots I do! Agree with the mental conditioning and feel doing so makes the difference between a diet and a lifestyle change.

Getting a road bike helped as well and kick started it again when I plateaud a bit, makes you want to put in more effort than riding a mtb imo.

Funnily enough I bought one in March and it’s done less than 100 miles and is in theFOR SALE section!!! I HATE riding on the road and after a bus knocked me off last week even more so. I’ve bought an Inbred SS frame and looking to get out and about on some easy canal runs so I can build stamina but feel I’m away from the traffic.

didnt worry about anything other than the fat content… ate a pretty normal diet, very varied, no cutting down on fruit and stuff, still has milk in cups of tea and a sugar. lost just over 5 stone, its stayed off

There’s no fat in coke according to the tin

I didn’t think it looked too different to the Judo my lad was doing at that age. It was competition with an audience, so are kiddies footy matches.

You’ve missed the point completely. Are the judo matches and football matches in an ‘arena’ commonly associated with a more aggressive, lethal version of the sport??

They do grappling in american schools but on judo mats instead of cages

Looks nice but the final scene though makes you look like a knobber of massive proportions so perhaps consider cutting that.

Yep, was a very credible video up until that point.

timmys – compay car – its the law to drive them this way.

I thought the same when I was 23 and put a 3 series backwards into a field and got the repair bill.

I’m sure these kids will grow up to be the next Raoul Moat. Probably coached into being a mentally unstable steroid freak who never ever made his dad’s expectations and as a result shunned by the pushy parents for not being like their parents. Let’s face it, it was wrestling but the environment was wrong. If 10 year old girls were doing gymnastics in a lap dance bar it would be no different

Guys some great advice (and bickering ) and i’m pardon the pun digesting it now. The guy who lost 27 stone has made my three stone loss look like a piece of piss in comparison and I shall take on board many of the excellent suggestions, but please keep them coming 8)

From what I can see all they have done is now upped the ‘generated’ lumen rating and the ‘output’ rating is the same as what they claimed the Vision 4 would do, i.e. 900 lumens IIRC. I also seen that on full power it last 1.15 hours, which is useless.

I have a vision 4 and 2 for my helmet and love them, but tempted into the DX arena as the prices are too good to be ignored.

I survived plenty of sloppy rides around Delamere on Racing Ralphs but you don’t need a mud plugger tyre on a 29er, I found the Bonty 29-3 quite good but not overly sticky, the ardent worked well but a better all rounder is the Ignitor

I can’t see how you can win in this situation. Unless you sell the S max privately for good money and you actually have equity left in the car to make another purchase.

I have a friend who’s just swapped his three year old S Max for a new C4 Picasso and thinks the C4 is a nice motor but nowhere near the same league as the max. Citroens depreciate a lot more than fords do as a rule but there is also a demand for nearly new S max’s too so it could turn out to be viable, but only just….

If you want to whip it off quickly then it’s either a top box like Givi or a Ventura. The oxford panniers are great but to stop them fouling the rear wheel you may be advisable making some sort of strap to stop them rubbing the wheels when leaning over. I had that problem on my first outing with soft luggage, rand a step from rear foot peg to grab handle on pillion seat and it stopped the left pannier rubbing wheel on right handers and vice versa. In the end I bought hard luggage

I’ve just gone through this process. Basically as njee20 states they ARE making you redundant.

Ask HR if they are making the position redundant or you??

It is illegal to make the person redundant, moving your job to a chocolate munching army knife toting country isn’t fair and isn’t an acceptable alternative.

Therefore they will have to get you to leave the business by either sacking you for good reason or ‘sweetening’ you to leave via an compromise agreement which basically is a contract between you and them. It’s the norm for the employer to pay for the employee to have free legal and independent advice (mine was £300) and get a specialist employment lawyer to review it.

It should be financially worth your while, don’t accept the minimum as that is about 4 weeks pay. You will make their life difficult if you refuse to go so get ready to negotiate. I wouldn’t take anything less than four months pay. Depending on what you do I’d ask for more. If you think you wil genuinely struggle to find another role than do your research and evidence why you should want more.

If you need any help feel free to call me on 07885 733038 and i’ll give you some pointers.

I have a V17 and it’s brilliant but the seals in the bottom of the pump unit tend to leak, Mark 1 models had black seals which were then replaced by clear seals but they aren’t any better. If you twist the tank off regularly like I do (to fit it under a tap in a sink for instance) then the seals don’t stay watertight, so apply a bit of petroleum jelly to them and it works fine.

Power of the jet is ample and can do two bikes in one tank, wouldn’t be without one.

I also put warm water in it and hose the dogs down after a muddy walk

Top tip: Don’t use a motorbike to save money, it simply doesn’t work like that, you end up biking on a budget and it don’t work. I used a bike for three years in my business and they’re great for cutting through traffic etc and nipping about but come at a cost.

    What bike have you got?

A top box is really the best option, don’t price up the OE systems, try renntec etc.

Soft panniers are great but take time to get them on right and not secure when you leave the bike.

speak to the tech guys at Fishers, they’ll have had quite a few of them apart by now.

I’ve enquired about this and the answer I got was there wil be a new model out with only 4″ travel….

They’ve had mine apart 4 times now

The Five Pro and the 514 are pretty much the same spec, obviously you should have gone to Specsavers.

So you don’t now have to pay £100 for bolt through fork? You DO get powerful Formula brakes, carbon swing arm, XT wheels on a FIVE now then???

Since Nove 2010 I’ve had a 2011 Cube Stereo Race (sold it as bought too small frame), then got a Trek Rumblefish 29er (sold it as was a great descender and a dreadful climber) and went and bought a 2011 Lappierre Zesty 514. I found the Zesty to have an excellent build quality, great spec (way better than 5) climbs really really well, looks the business and descends really well.

The ‘snapierre’ moniker seems to be unfairly obtained and I’ve met far more Orange owners who’ve suffered frame failures and ended up paying Orange couple hundred quid to refurb the frame ‘at the same time’

Good marketing ploy that, when the customer returns for what should be a free warranty claim then squeeze ore money out of them for the same used and abused frame…..

Also bear in mind most of the other brands owners aren’t evangelical ‘hear no wrong’ types either…

I had a 53 plate 2.5 TDi and it’s engine threw a con rod at 900 miles (new engine), then at 10K (three months old) and at 42K (11 months old) and Audi took it back they were so embarrassed. The reliability of VAG products is nowhere as good as they claim, their service in these instances made up for shocking quality issues.

I spent less than 10 month in that car and about 2 of them were in a loan car waiting for new engines.

In March I hired the beard for the day up at Lee Quarry and after having an amazing day I got carried away on the way back to the car, chipped knee cap (crazy fool me forgot to put knee pads on) and was off for a month or so, ended up buying the Rumblefish 29er on the way back as an ’emotional purchase’

at 13:40 a mate falls off a bit of a cliff and at the end I go down hard and the camera mounted on the chest mount broke a rib, hence why I don’t recommend them!

I think he used some sort of ‘diminished responsibility’ trump card too, as in he suffers from Aspergers syndrome. Thankfully the judge gave him maximum sentence available to him but this case proves that it’s all too easy for cyber bullies to be effective in causing distress.

He would have got the same sentence for handling a bottle of water stolen by a looter in Aldi

I went speed skating the night of mine and was fine, and again the day after and the day after and felt fine. ABout a week after I threw my leg over the bike and as soon as the brains in the bag touched the saddle I hit the roof!! Hurt a lot, I’d expect 2 weeks (for cycling) and everything else less.

I was fortunate enough to have my brother serve in 43 Squadron back in the 90’s and was an air cadet as a teen and did three years summer camp up there, managed to have a go in a few nice bits of kit, Wessex chopper, Tornado and a non flying but running Lightning, thinking about it now brings goose bumps but amazingly now as a 37 year old I’m proper aerophobic

i have wide feet and a size 11 AM45’s and find them ample width wise but suffering from numb feet wearing them. Don’t think it’s an issue with the shoes but possibly the positioning of the cleat. Still recommend them though so would have thought you’d be fine.

200kgs of Hayabusa would make quite a dent at 200mph wouldn’t it?

about 300Kg with me on was going to be my original suggestion but hitting a car at that speed would no doubt catapult the pilot to another county 8O

I was knocked off my motorbike in 2006 and I asked for a courtesy bike. They called me up and asked the CC of my bike, 1200 so they said the only 1200 ish bike they had was a hayabusa, fair enough I said!

I had just about got two years under my belt and even if I wanted to buy one the insurance industry wouldn’t quote me due the two years NCD ruling on hyper bikes, but here was the insurance company giving me a 200mph machine FOC as a replacement bike.

Well after about an hour and half of perfecting launching I’d stopped riding all the twisty roads on my torquey V Twin Buell that loved bends and was riding the M’ways and perfecting getting this fast as **** bike up to 100mph in about 5 seconds flat. They go like stink and are very stable to say the least.

Fast forward six weeks and i still had the ‘busa on loan and I’d nipped up to North East for day, on the way back to Wigan i’d noticed the clouds over the lakes looked angry so I stopped at Scotch Corner and put my waterproofs over my leathers. As I got to Tebay on the M6 I had a moment of naughtiness and though “this is going back tomorrow let’s see what it can do ”

Even though I’d been riding only two years I’d ridden daily, done over 40 track days in 12 months and clocked up 50k on four bikes so i was quite a handy advanced rider. My waterproofs were neither advance, handy or intelligently designed.

As I got up to 175 the hood on my smock type jacket unravelled itself and started to act like a wind sock and as such nearly pulled me off the back of the bike. I’d gone from 175mph down to about 100 over all three lanes and was close to taking my legs off on armco barrier on hard shoulder, as the hood inflated it shook my head violently which gave me very blurry vision and I straight-lined a bend at about 150mph.

Shit me right up i tell ya!
