Cool but in a different way, in Scotland a couple of years ago we saw a Hercules fly over at what couldnt have been more than 250 feet up, just making slow sweeping turns. Majestic it was.

Ditto, saw one flying over Brough in Cumbria, real low in the valley practising drops out of the load bay back door, about four of them, was great to watch

Research ‘KNX’ and you’ll see it serves all of your needs…

It’s not cheap but you wire your house in single cable, everything KNX works with everything else and some of the most up to date and fancy stuff is on KNW, like Jung accessories….

if you can retrieve the barb without getting a single micro-scratch then yes, if not then buy a new barb. I had mine shortened by my LBS and it needed bleeding weekly after that, took it to a proper LBS (Twelve 50 cycles Fordsham) who told me the barb had a score on it, put new one on and it’s been spot on ever since.

Good luck to the OP, if you’re more sales orientated you shouldn’t be out of work long, I wasn’t and ended up with a farrrrrr better job after a month off 8)

R4, it’s best as you rget something like 170 degree angle and don’t lose any noticeable quality over full 1080 setting R5 which narrows it down to 127 degrees

We bought a Saab Aero Convertible 3 years ago, it was massively discounted because Saab were in never never land at the time and next month we either pay £9K to keep it or give it back. With Saab going bust it’s gong back…

Interstingly – a C class Merc estate is cheaper over 3 years than a Mondeo

Because the Merc has a significantly higher residual value than the mondeo, so they can factor in getting a lot more money for the car at the end of the lease thus meaning it can be offset against the capital payments.

The reason there has been far more BMW/Audi/Merc’s on the roads is fleet buyers would rather pay slightly more to have a premium car instead of Mondeo/Insignia types. The driver is happier to be driving a nice car, the fleet manager spends loads less on hire car costs because they break down less.

I recently left a company who had 200 vectra/astras and swapped the lot for a mixture of Audi/BMW/Merc/Toyota/Skoda and in two years they saved £20k in hire car costs alone and the drivers were far happier..

Yes, I had a 2011 stereo Race and the back end is remarkably stiffer than the back end of Zesty with QR I replaced it with

I’ll tell you now anyone who classifies themselves as a ‘proper biker’ will take nothing serious from a CG125 owner, and I mean that with the most respect. You think you see some humdingers on here?? pffft.

My R1 did 295 mph last week willy waving pillocks are aplenty. Be warned.

Sold as Seen” is only valid from one trader to another – they are deemed to be “knowledgeable”, it’s an offence to supply a vehicle to a private individual on those terms.
Been there last year with the same thing and he changed his tune when “informed” of that little nugget….

Me too. I bought a Cherokee years and years ago and the air con compressor had gone (£900) and it was sold without warranty (from a main dealer) on the basis it was ‘trade price’. I rant trading standards and anyone who is blatantly trading had to comply with the SOG Act. If this guy has a history of selling cars on ebay and you can prove it your local trading standards will be interested in speaking to him.

Wigan Council has a policy now where you can’t display cars for sale on the street if you’re a trader. there were little dealers selling cars using them price tags that hang from the visor, as if it was in a garage, on street corners, bits of land etc and it was outlawed because most of the complaints were about individuals selling cars claiming to be individuals when the were blatantly dealing in cars from home

It will only be a matter of time before it will be quicker to get the train from Manchester to London and then fly up to Newcastle then driving from Manchester to Newcastle…..

I wish they’d build some new motorways instead and ban trucks from lanes 3 of 4 lane motorways, give people who do less than 60mph points and publicly execute middle lane hoggers,

There’s never been any Northern based ones at all, even the recent one with the Geordie blokes. I think that was in London too.

I meant to refer to that in my post! but they weren’t geordies they were mackems…..

I regularly travel in Cities and it just seems to me that once I get South of Birmingham everyone wants to having a go at each other, and now cyclists are doing it with camera’s for the effect. Yes there is obviously a lot of cyclists in London in comparison to Manchester but even when I’m on Oxford Rd in Manchester everyone has their head down and get on with it.

It (IMHO) doesn’t make the south look like a welcoming place.

I don’t get it, is this another wrestling-esque staged thing?

No, to be fair the video I posted is very much like that, the derby scene in UK is still in it’s infancy and only a handful of teams are in existence but very much a strategic game these days as opposed to staged WWE drama. It’s still a very physical game and whilst there are rules it’s often the case a well timed deliberate foul can progress play so the odd elbow to the face etc isn’t unheard of.

It’s being dominated by women, gothic, lesbian-esque types but the new breed of derby players are more toned gym types who are much easier on the eye.

I’m in sales and have been since 19 (37 now) and here is the reality of being in sales…..

Everyone internally thinks we start at 11 and finish at 3.
Everyone internally moans about not being paid enough but never show any willingness to change
Everyone internally gets a fixed lunch break, smoke breaks, turn up at 9 and leaves at 5
Everyone internally gets a warm work environment, free eye tests, free water etc etc….

The reality is that the salesman is always the sacrificial lamb. I’ve had loads of job, NO pension at all, work remotely from home but even though i’m off sick today (unpaid) I’m still working because the do or die targets sales people have to hit don’t get discounted for days like today. I’m often working late at night to do reports and that’s after doing 10-12 hours out in about in my company car that the government wants to take about £3K a year extra tax for as it’s a perk of the job.

If a salesman is shit at their job they’re sacked, never made redundant and ushered out the building quietly and often under the threat of some sort of legal action not to contact anyone or customers again. We have to put up with the constant abuse off customers who’ve been let down by lacklustre, work shy and unimaginative internal people who just want to apportion blame to someone else. I’ve never had a job where I can sell something and then forget about it, the sale is the start of a process of holding hands of people who obviously come to work for a rest. I’ve been crashed into three times in four months whilst out and about in the car, a couple of grand whiplash money doesn’t take away the pains and aches when I get up in the morning.

The great parts are you meet some great people, become very commercially aware, increase your knowledge base on all sorts of things and you can get in your car and whilst sitting in 10 mile tailbacks on the motorway be thankful you don’t have to spend time with negative, envious jobsworths.

The tag at the top of this page is ironically jealous? and it’s so true, envy is an awful trait.

Had a 57 plate one and it was a utter POS, got rid after 7 months. BUT, Renaults and Pug’s of that era tend to be a bugger in their infancy and mature to be fairly reliable motors. NEVER take to a renault dealer, their rates are shocking, oh and don’t be tempted to turn the second row of seats rearward facing, the kids WILL spew their intestines up relentlessly

VFR 800’s are a nice bike but the servicing costs are huge, a lot of plastic to be removed every service.

If you venture out mainly as a couple then you need to start looking for bikes like Sprint 1050’s, good pillion bikes but still handle.

Or, go for my option which would be the 750, near on thou power but still retain 600 nimbleness. I did a track day couple of year ago with Ian MacPherson (ex MotoGp/WSB) and he travelled down from Scotland to Cadwell on a GSXr 750, did his tutoring on it then rode it back, said it was perfect all round bike.

Trail rat: I have two phones on contract, a credit card and three bank accounts and still have a year left to go.

Your mate with the problem who’s gone beyond six years should check his credit file, it’s common some of the creditors don’t clear their accounts with the agencies. If his income isn’t suitable, inconsistent electoral role records etc then he may struggle even without bein BR in the past. After 6 years their should be no mention of bankruptcy, that’s legally bound by the enterprise act to help ex bankrupts get back into business.

Bankrupts were traditionally risk takers who went bust and would re-start and hopefully make a success the second time round, but the moral masses now see BR’s as poor financial planners, which a lot of them are but not everyone

Honestly, I despair at some of the condascending, antagonistic and down right disrespectful replies to someone’s genuine request for help. I can only presume the TJ type keyboard warrior types on here have never found themselves in a position where they may have fallen on harder times to feel morally fit to disperse such plumb mouthed, silver spoon enhanced shit that I’ve seen on this thread.

It appears if you’re not either a graduate trained Etonian then you should live like a hermit and not spend any of your daily pittance earned on living, because living has what’s got you in this mess. There never seems to be any compassion or sympathy for people in debt, the OP lost his job, the fact that he probably paid his bills/debts adequately whilst employed is irrelevant but sadly debts and the cost of living doesn’t cease when employment stops.

I had my own business and was doing well, I had a shed load of debt but the promise of more profitable work seen me borrow £50k from the bank in 2006 which I invested to grow my business and within three months of investing it the same bank took it back illegally. I was made bankrupt for £130k and the official receiver pursued the bank and got the money back only three months ago, but I can honestly say none of my customers (some of them I owed over £10k) looked down on me, belittled me or treat me in the way some of the people have in this thread.

I do wonder if people like TJ and others would treat people on here the same way if they were stood next to them in a pub after a ride, presuming the attendees had all been financially vetted for suitability to buy a pint by the Tory Social Acceptance Committe that is TJ and co…

looking at them I suspect they’re a Ford Kuga underneath in the same way a V50 is a Focus estate. The V50 was a terrible car when it went wrong because Volvo couldn’t diagnose a lot of the problems due to Ford not giving them the correct info/eqpt. There’s a lot of pissed off V50 owners about.

That said they look like a nice motor and I’ll be tempted by one when my car comes up for renewal in March, but may play safe and get a Rav4

one set of hope 4’s still going strong after 2 years of service, four times a week over the winter.

Set of hope 2’s that are just over a year old and i pulled the cable out, sent it back offering payment to fix, sent back FOC.

I’m proud to pay extra for service like that and keeping a load of lancastrians in jobs…
