Un/Clipping is second nature to me, but recently I have had a couple of back end slidouts that im sure a quick dab could have prevented. Maybe its just that Im getting quicker. All I seem to do at the mo is ride downhill biased trails, and my new riding partners are quicker than im used to.

Perhaps its just my lack of skill 🙂 Still is fun finding out.

What it is, is that some mates i ride with, just ride that bit quicker than me, and do all the drifty outy type cornering. With spd’s on I get annoyed at not being able to corner as quickly as them. Its a bottle thing! Its just not as easy to go at high speed, you need to be able to dab and get the foot out at times. At least in my head 🙂

Ive sort of answered my own question really with some help from posts above. Ill probably just keep the SPD’s.

    Cheers all,
mmm, still not sure. Even though my local trails are a downhilly type affair (Bringewood near Ludlow), Im still preety useless at them. I was thinking that switching to flats will give me a bit more reassurance/confidence on the steep fast stuff. I dont think I will ever be a Danny Hart, so maybe keeping the spd’s may be the way forward, and save me 100 quid.

    Cheers all,

So as it stands I can just by a 2 x 10 slx setup and just adjust the front mech. No other parts required?

    cheers,

Will this stop there being 3 clicks, if you know what i mean. Will you get enough adjustment out of these limit screws?

Ta – I am a total newbire to this 2 x 10 thing, so have never paid any notice to how you change to it before.

Ive got one, and its great. I love the versatility of it. On full travel copes with anything that I can throw at it (and im a 13st duffer), yet it is light and can deal with full day epics no probs.

When I come to renew my full suss, I would defo think about another Genius.

Only had the shock serviced once, and it is a 2008 model. Still runs like a dream. Rear shock servicing is not a prob, Hope service them, you just need to post it to Hope.

blue pig, 30.9 and 250 quid in crc sale

just won a new wanga on ebay for 500 quid. What a bargain. Being a bit of a snob, i have thought about paying another 250 and getting a blue pig frame to swap the bits onto. However having just got back from its first ride I think why?

Th bike handles really well. I think its just snobbishness on my part that dosent want to be seen on a ‘halfords’ bike. In reality i think that if this bike was sold elsewhere, yet with the halfords price tag it would be really popular.

I would reccommend it, esp if you can get one cheap on ebay.

It’s true, the one strike system is completely mad! Whoever let that one in needs sacking.

Im gutted, Bolt is a true great. He’s one of those rare sportsmen than always provides compelling viewing. If you know what I mean!

I hoped that they would let him back in, but alas!

I believe eastridge is great! Im in Ludlow and have not ridden there yet. Have you tried Bringewood/Mortimer forest near ludlow, (only 30 mins away)?

I cannot believe how much quality singletrack riding can be fitted into 2 hours there. Its much better. or should I say different to the peak district I have just moved from.

If you fancy a ride there, I’d be more than happy to show you around.

Bugger! thanks for your reply. was looking at the spec, and couldnt believe how good it was, as Im on the lookout for a hardtail long travel bike at the mo.

Not GCSE’s , but on a recent interview I heard, some A-level students who had just got there results, were all doing Media Studies, Music and Drama, and Art amongst other non brain cell utilising subjects. They were going to uni to do Drama and the other two were going to do a degree in Event Managment FFS!

Thats why grades are going up, because the days of kids studying Physics and chemistry are over! All kids want to do nowadays is become a DJ or a reality TV star, and you dont need Maths with chemistry for that.
