Its more about letting my wife have a blast, she wont go round it on her own, and shes new to biking so abit wary.

Obviously if its busy, wet, etc it wont be happeneing, and it will be the family route.

    Cheers,

My lads almost 3, so hes a bit more robust than a baby, still 50/50 though.
Its just Ive never ridden there before so dont know exactly how ‘rough’ it is. Ive seen clips of it on youtube, and it looks OK ish for a childseat attempt.

Try Bringewood/Mortimer forest next to ludlow, about 20 mins south on Church Stretton.

Theres about 3 hours worth of superb trail riding, with a downhill bias in the forests.
Some of the trails need abit of local knowledge to get to! If you want to know more, then let me know, and ill email more exact details. It is possible to find all the trails yourselves, esp on the Bringewwod side, but Mortimer has a few hidden gems!

The two forests are really one forest, so its possible to link all best bits, this makes for a great 3 hour singletrack ride.

cheers all, my local stomping ground is Bringewood and the Longmynd so although not the biggest hills around, they are certainly very steep. I was concerned that just having the 10 gears to choose from would be forcing me to walk what i normally ride.

There is no wilderness in the west mids, the closest to it would be the borderland around clun/knighton.

I was sat in my parents house about 15 years ago, ( actually watching one of the bmbf rounds on Tv), when the curtains raised by approx 7- 10 inches. They were raised in a slow manner , as if raised intentionlly to look out of them. They dropped back down after about 5 seconds.

My dad looked at my mum and I and asked if we saw what he just saw!

Are the English an ethnic group or just a shitty German sub group?

Yes In this country it seems so, ( to the first bit).

As long as they are law abiding, pay tax and national insurance they can be lablelled what they want.
However from personal experience, they are none of these things!

And these racism toubled travellers have nicked two of my bikes!

i’ll add to this post before my edit option vanishes, I had to attempt to integrate these things into my educational authority, it almost caused me to resign, It cant be done, these people cannot fit into a normal “respectful” society.

To my bosses – If you see this post, please do not sack me.

Excellent enjoy, like I have said, the cable resistance pull thingy doesnt work properly, I think that its something to do with the cable tightness, so could probably be sorted. I always just changed gear to add resistance, its more realistic 🙂

I cant be bothered to fix it as I dont think I will ever use it again.

Very tedious and dull. I even got a couple of the sufferfest vids to go with it for some motivational help.

I got one with the intention of winter training a few years back. But to be honest Id rather get cold wet and muddy outside.

You can have mine for 40 quid if you can pick it up, or i can deliver by hand. Im in Ludlow

If you advertise in the national magazines, surly you can expect to have people calling and asking to price match.
In any sales job, surley its expected.

And if you cant/wont price match, then its also a good point to start a “well i cant do it for that price, but i can do it for this price” typa thing.

Depends, chainset – myself, new headset on a frame – purchase from bike shop and have them fit it.

    geologist

Fine line between decent and well paid. And Im on the wrong side!

So bike shops should only deal with regular punters? If so, why does this one and alot more post adverts in big national magazines?

    Ewan – spot on

    True I agree,

My local bike shop Pearce Cycles have almost CRC prices anyway, so price is not usually a problem. They can be within 10% of CRC prices on most things. I have a decent job, and do like to support my local shop, I would be willing to pay an extra £10/15 on something thats £90 rather than go online. But £30 was pushing it.

Aside from the price of parts, Pearce have fitted me in to do emergancy repairs, there and then, when I know that they are really busy. They are a great shop.

Again – I didnt really expect him to exactly price match, as its a v good price for the thing, but I hoped he may have got to within 10 or 15 quid. If he had of done, I’d of had it from them.
Its just as you said above, I wanted the chainset for friday, so CRC were the option and they are the cheapest too. But normally it is local all the way, unless the price difference is very significant, or its a rush job for parts.

Pauly – What????? sorry forgot this was arguetrackworld.

All I did was ask in a polite manner, if he would price match? whats wrong with that? Its a common thing nowadays.

    It wasnt you was it?

Well lets just say that if I spoke to my customers (the MOD) like that I’d loose my job! I dont expect to be spoken to in that way. All he needed to say was , Sorry mate, I cant match that, I can do an extra fiver off, or something like that. Now he has lost the money I was going to spend on a helmet plus DVD etc….
