That was what was great about it, the DH parts of the trail, were like DH race tracks. You dont get that often on trail centre XC courses.

Test rode a Piglet and a Blue Pig MK2, Only went for the blue pig, because I got a good deal on it. I am a bit stupid, and didnt really notice any difference between the ride of the 2 bikes.

I ride the Blue Pig all over, XC, DH, you name it. I havent ridden my Genius since Ive had the Pig. Defo recommend A Pig/Piglet.

It was a wee bit slippy today. Rained quite hard just before I set off this morning. Parts were worse than others. The very steep parts were all fine, It was just the slippy routes on the off camber bits that were a bit testing.

Cant wait to ride it in the dry. It was certainley a tought ride technically in the wet, tougher than any trail centre blacks ive ridden 🙂

Cheers – I have dabbled with a bit of PHP, SQL etc and wonder wether or not this is a flooded job market. Im looking for a career change you see, but at 38 I need to be sure what Im choosing is right for me.

I enjoy all aspects of web design/devel.

    Just a thought really.

Ive had a Blackcap and a Tree Sparrow in my garden this aft.

Garden birds no different to last year as yet. However I have seen no Kingfishers this year on the river Teme (opposite my house) Pretty much every time I walked down the river last year I saw one.

sorry mate, im useless I really dont remember?

I have seen your email addy in your prof and dont recognise the name.

I used to regularly ride with a guy called John from Suckley, Paul from B on T bikes and a guy called Sam who was in the Marines.

You seem to know my history a bit so it is likely its just my memory that has gone? Can you jog my memory some more?

It doesn’t matter what you put on/in a Subway – the net result always tastes approximately the same anyway.

    Yep – artificial

I heard that a subway footlong roll contains the same amount of saturated fat as 4 bigmacs.

Dunno if its true or not.

    Hey,

Quite poss? It would have been 1995/96. I dont remember any other people collecting samples though? (apart from the guys with me). It was for my undergrad project too.

Is this too much of a coincidence? I dont think I know you, but you know too much 🙂

Can you shed more light, are you from Malvern too?

    geologist

When I lived in Malvern, I was out with Paul from B on T cycles, and Ed Moseley. His sister joined us, she was playing second fiddle to Ed back in those days. I thought that she was crap.

Just goes to show eh! Shes now one of the quickest riders on the planet from male or female, and im just a fat old knacker. 🙂

Haha, nice one, thats a hell of a climb to have to start every ride with, esp on a SS.

    You are Liam Kileen 🙂

Your right about the riding, theres not many places where you can leave your door, ride on tarmac for 5 meters and then ride for hours entirley offroad or just have a 1 hour quality blast.

As Stoner said, really dry today, except for a slightly boggy bit around Holy Well.

Above the road, well i was out on the bike everyday when I was there so soaked it up when i could. I really dont know how my parents could bear it there. I couldnt live in one of those houses.

    Hey Stoner,

I lived (my mums house is) just 200 yds up the road from where yours was, on the sharp left hand bend.

    Excellent, cheers 🙂

Always good to meet new riding buddies.

Theres loads at Bringewood/Mortimer forest. you can get a 3 hour ride purely on singletrack.

When you are up for a ride in this neck of the woods let us know.

I only rode there today as we were dropping my mum back at home after xmas with us. I got a pass out for a few hours, as the wife wanted to look round Malvern. Normally my visits back to my parents house are just short and sweet asshe needs to keep in touch with my 3 year old, and she cant be bothered to get the train to Ludlow where I live.

So unfortunatley Im back in Ludlow now. Now I got a willing guide however Im sure I can tempt the wife to let me have another passout when we visit the my mum in the near future. It would be great to see whats developed in the area.

Ill post on here, when Im back down, or my email is on profile. Thanks for the offer. Its extended to you, if you wanna have a guide to the best bits of Bringewood or the Mynd 🙂

littlegirlbunny, it is very good riding, My parents house backs onto the hills at west malvern, and I lived and rode there for 15 years. I know it quite well.

I just think that more trails could be opened ‘legally’ that would make the whole experience a little more challenging. I have been spoilt abit though, in the 15 years I have been away from home, I have lived just north of Aviemore, Hope in Derbyshire, and now I live at the bottom of the LongMynd!

It is true however I have not ridden there for a few years, and have lost touch with all my riding mates from the area. Are you willing to shed some light on the sneaky newbits 😉

It dosent really matter where you start as most of the ‘classic’ routes are circular.

My preference is too start at the Clock Tower carpark, (just up from back on track bike shop). Go upto zigzags, at top make way upto Worcs Beacon, down the side track to the Wyche cutting along the east side of the hills to British Camp, cross over road, make way to Giants cave and Gullet Quarry. Reverse route to get back, however if its peopleless go back over the ridge to the Wyche. At the end dont go down zigzags, but carry on there are more ‘sneaky’ fun ways back to to west malvern to be found.

The trails are all over , you can see alot of them from a distance, and you cant really get lost. Just explore.

Back on Track bikes, are worth a call.

No Ski, It was’nt that quiet unfortunatley. Just well timed photos 🙂

It was my first ride on the Malverns for 12 years since I left home properly. Nothings changed, a beautiful area, that could be so good (riding wise). For me it has never lived upto its potential. Whats with all the new gates that have appeared?

I think that Royal Snail are the best of a bad bunch.

At least when you miss a Royal Mail delivery the sorting office is usually very close, unlike other companies. I missed a DNP delivery and had to drive 55 miles to collect the package!

“MTBtrails.info is a FREE resource for mountain-bikers in Scotland to share details about all kinds of mountain bike trails.”

How about changing the in scotland bit, to UK or something like that.

Hopefull then you will get us soft southerners adding routes too.

Love the site though, the UK has been waiting for a decent route guide site for ages. There is not anything thats decent at the minute. You have potentially hit on a good thing here.

Thats just one experience with them!

I was in a pub once when a guy came in selling power tools, a guy in my running club had his power tools stolen out of the back of his van a week before. These power tools had his name etched on them, they were his tools!

I called the police, they couldnt be bothered to come down and look. In fact they even threatend me with wasting police time!!!

I have about 3 or 4 more experiences with them that are very negative!

    Only 1 positive.

    FFS!!! Ernie Lynch,

It just goes to show that the two coppers were prepared to lie! Do you think thats acceptable?

I have to now declare this on my job application forms etc, when its not true.

    Tos*er

Unfortunatley deluded, it is my experience with them, that has formed me to have such an opinion.

Basically. alot of the police are the older set of the playstaion generation, they think computer games, and movies, are real life. I work closely with the security services, and its v funny how you get good cop bad cop, with a pair of junior coppers who are 23 yrs old each. When they have never left the town they grew up in, and have no life experience.
