Theres great food in this country, Ludlow where I live is foodie heaven:) A big deal is made of local quality produce here.

Thats what you get for buying crap meat from supermarkets,

Alot is made of free range chicken, but you hear nothing of battery pork, when its just as big of a problem! Danish bacon is all battery farmed 🙂

As above, support your local butcher, but still ensure its not bulk crap they have bough in from a supplier, and that its local. Alot of butchers meat is no better than supermarket meat.

Being able to ride straight out of the front door to great trails is number 1, I dont think Id be a mountain biker if I couldnt do this. I have given climbing which was another passion in my life, because I couldnt make it fit into my life, due to moving to a climbing unfriendly area.

Stw is the over 40’s equivalent of mbuk. It’s a rite of passage mbuk to stw when you enter middleage, grow a beard, and prefer radio 4 over owt else

I disagree MSP, Steve Peat foir example was brought up in a rough part od Sheffield, I think a lot of people would be interested in his rise to fame, as they could associate more with him, over some gaul, from 50 years ago.

I agree that winning the Tdf after cancer etc is a story that needs to be told, but there are other angles, stories out there.

I agree, its great, its a proper red xc circuit. I reckon south Shropshire could be the english 7 stanes,

    Hopton
    Long Mynd
    Eastridge
    Bringewood
    Mortimer
Lots more DH only places, so soon 2 more xc places could arise surely????

Im just not into road stuff, why are there no decent mountain biking equivalents, there are mountain biking legends, so thats no excuse.

Ive tried French Revolutions et al, and they just dont float my boat, find them all a bit wishy washy and tedious. The death of Marco Pantani, however I did enjoy.

Id love to read Steve Peats or John Tomacs biog or somthing similar, If I was a writer type person its something id be pursueing, as I think its a gap needing to be filled.

Cheers, you up for a bit of night guiding. I have no idea about where to go, and as I’m working day times, it will have to be night riding. I don’t really have the time to get a map and explore.

I travel between Hampshire/surrey and my home in Ludlow most weeks.

On one journey home last year, I saw a Kite in Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire and Shropshire (all in the same journey btw 🙂 )!

Could never imagine that 10 years ago.

Drac – I saw a picture and report of it online somewhere, cant recall when 🙂 It happenend before I moved here.

I was out in the woods once (on the bike!)and got spooked by a big black dog, it sparked my imagination and I did some internet searching for sightings around here.
