I rode bringwood last night, it was ridable, but still 90% covered with upto 6 inches of snow. Mortimers side was 100 % ridable, some of the sheltered bits were snow covered.
I would say that hopton etc would be exactly the same, with the south facing slopes ok, and the north still arctic like.

Id go for it next weekend, maybe very very slushy though. I can update on friday if it helps (im in ludlow).

Thanks, appreciate that, I’m taking a trail centre virgin there tomorrow, so don’t want to have a 2 hr each way drive if the syfydrin trail is unridable.

Haha, i live in Ludlow now, having lived in Malvern for 5 years and Whaley bridge for 10 years, I can defo say I prefer being in the middle ish region of shropshire.

There’s no way, Worcesterites are northerners! My Parents moved to Malvern from Yorkshire 15 years ago, and the 2 places/people couldn’t be more different.
That map is defo a complete load of tosh! 🙂

I decided 3 weeks ago to try and set a land speed record down a steep hill on my 4 year olds scooter! That ended the only way it could , with me having cracked ribs, had my first ride back on sunday, felt ok, but 1 and a half hours was just about right, it started to hurt, also tried a swim tonight, again, did a mile in 45 minutes really easy, but I can feel them now.

When I cracked them a few years ago, it was 2 months before I could even contemplate riding. If it was me, and i was was feeling bad pain still after 2 weeks, id go to a and e. I mean pain all the time, not just when you cough or lift etc etc.

But then again I told a mate to stop being a wuss about his stomach ache, 30 minutes before an emergency ambulance came to take him to have his appendix out, so prob best not to listen to me. Go get them looked at.

    Thanks CD, food for thought!

Luffy – I actually quite enjoy my current job in sat comms, the trouble is that I live in Ludlow, and there is no work of this type here or within a 80 mile radius. Bristol is where it starts. How I ended up here is a long story, but I’m not moving to the SE where the sat comms work is. I work away mon to fri every week now, and with a young family it’s hard. Hence why I’m looking at retraining So I can gain work and a normal 9 to 5 job based in south Shropshire ish.

Me and a mate, are doing another exclusive.

We are going to swim as much as is doable, from the source of the Teme, to ludlow where we live, about 3 or 4 long days.

I just got a new merc c220 cdi as a company car, same criteria as you almost, its great. Dont bother with the passat, I had one before, it was awful compared to the merc. The merc fits 3 bikes in the back easy. Needs to be an estate though, the saloon dosent have split rear seats.

Hi CD, thanks for the advice, but…… these things are never easy are they!

My problem is I work away 5 days a week, I repair ships and am never in the same place, this means I cant do evening classes. I have seen that Hereford college (my local college) run the level 2 and 3 , 1 year full time each. Is this my best option? I didnt want to take a year off work though, as i have a mortgage, family etc etc,, which is why I considered one of the fast track courses.

If a local buisness agreed to give me an apprenticeship, how much would I earn ish. And how long do they last. I just cant see them giving one to a 38 year old already in a good job!

    Im in a quandry.

    Cheers all

Wow, electricians around me get more than that! I live in an area full of v old houses and rich people, I was chatting to a tradesman who said Ludlow does nit have enough sparks to go around. We have to wait weeks to get someone.

My plan was to get trained and set up as a domestic electrician. I’m a sat comms systems engineer now, I install big sat comms systems, so wiring, chasing wiring faults is my bread and butter. It would be the home aspects I may need experience in, I’ve never run wiring in a house!

I know it may be unrealistic to get a job with a company with no experience , but how about becoming a domestic electrician? Is that feasible ?

    Thanks for the input all.

I must be the odd one out. I had an ipad on loan from my wifes school for a few months. I had to give that back when the new school yearstarted. I bought a galaxy tab 2 last month, and wish id spent more andgot an ipad! The android app store is better, but everthing else is better on the ipad imo.

Typed on my galaxy tab! 🙁

In terms of colouration buzzards cover the whole range of black white and brown. Sounds like a buzzard. Cant be anything else. Goshawks ueed to breed in the derwent area, but they are never seen over built up areas.edit- some halfbred game keeper killed the last one 2 years ago!

I heard an interesting philosophy today –

‘We are physical beings that developed the power of thought, what IF we started off as thoughts, who developed physically’ !

Make of it what you will, Im off to bed 🙂
