Just been through this myself. I bought form Blackcircles. When they were being fitted, earlier today, I asked the workshop manager if I would be better coming direct to the fitting place instead – he said that they can’t get near the Blackcircles’ prices. There’s a local place I try to use (mate of a mate), but they could only provide some no name ditch finders (Laufenn?) near the price for Kumho tyres off Blackcircles.
The workshop guy said that Blackcircles are owned by Michelin – not sure if that’s true though.

I’m making a career out of getting these kinds of tools moved to better platforms.
Mol – I’d be interested to hear what kit you’re flogging.

Arrived this morning and tried it straight away. It’s a joy to use.

The design of the doblo means that you can’t lift the boot lid even with the tilt function activted, should be fine on my car – when I get the towbar fitted though.

What are they like for general trail riding? Seem to be advertised as a downhill shoe.

OK as long as you don’t have to do much walking. The grip is for flat pedals not muddy trails.

Why not just go to your local shop and have a chat with the guys there about building a wheelset. They would have a better understanding of what you want, other than reading about it on CRC.

For the same reason I don’t buy all my bikes from them. They will recommend what they sell, which might be the best option, but equally it might not.

Would be good to follow 1 part from goods in to goods out.

As this is a mountain bike forum I’ll point out that you’re an hours drive from arguably the best trail centres riding in the UK, which I don’t think has been mentioned yet.

    FTFY

Sorry, for the boy (my son).

He’s light, but not the most sympathetic of riders and is getting into enduro, so they will need to be tough ish. Rims need to deal with 2.3 Butcher and Purgatory 2bliss tyres.

I had a look at the stock hope offerings on CRC, but they don’t get the best reviews (too heavy and not particularly robust).

    Thanks again

You’ve convinced me. I’ve just ordered a Thule Velospace 918 – found an ex demo deal on eBay.
Just need to book my trip up north to be shown how best to load it

Surely if you have space to store a trailer then you have space to store a rack?

A trailer would live outside. A rack wouldn’t.

Interesting, I gave the ‘ignore what your colleagues are doing and concentrate on making sure you do your job as best as you can’ pep talk this afternoon to a couple of team members showing the same kinds of dissatisfaction as the op.

GeoffJ- If your ebike is as heavy as mine i wonder if the ramp thing for loading can take the weight ?

I can lift mine quite easily, so that wouldn’t be an issue.
The Thule 918 velospace is probably what I would go for next if I don’t go down the trailer route.

Bikes bouncing around is something I’d not considered though.

I’ve just never really got on with the tow bar racks I’ve had.
Heavy unwieldy things to store (yes I know  ) and I struggle to load them without bikes rubbing / holding bars being in the right place. I’ve only used Thule ones though.

Parking at the trail head could indeed be an issue.

How many bricks would you expect them to lay in a day?

Edit: looks like 200-500 per day depending on complexity and labourer

Or actually just gravel an area and let water soak straight through.

But then you just end up with muddy gravel don’t you?

Sure he is quick by himself but his actual racing skills are questionable.

    and

I think he lacks the ability to control his temperament. He’s very very close to top-tier IMHO but not quite.

Both comments could have been applied to Schumacher and Senna at various points in their careers. I’m not suer he is as good, but I do agree with

He may well achieve it over the next year or two though

He just need to make his mark with the Ferrari
