Me thinks it a 67 ha, 440mm stays, 130mm travel. Think I read steep SA so guessing 73-74 def ish.

Be interesting to see sizing. Hoping for a 19″ large… Hint hint Brant. Oh and a bit of a long front end so ETT of 24-24.5″ be nice too.

But then design by committee isn’t really the way these things are done. Anyone got any other rumours on this?

Toying with the idea of a trailsy 29er and this keeps jumping out at me. (Along with a prime!!!) It will be Xmas indeed when it lands. Loved my ti456 and loving my Fireline Evo at mo too.

Any insight on where the £599 price came from and what shock is to be incl? Last I saw it was a maybe for a ccdb!

DT 350 gives it a very good run, same internals, few grams difference in weight in centrelock forms and for half the money. Bit of a sleeper hub me thinks!

For anyone looking for some 26er flows/hope hubs I’ve a new set on classifieds… can do for £218:D

I take it that is a permanent reduction for Pike Solo Air springs Si 😀

Can you say if the 29er Pike 150 can be reduced to 140 or 130mm?

Me too, tis mucho fun. Bb is already v low and the 140s only raise it about .3 of an inch so still sub 13″ for a super low slung gripy ride.

Yeah had my 26ers for about the same and have been fine. In some respects they don’t even show marks as bad as black painted rims.

Oh and just remembered that the new hookless rims have a deeper section so use shorter spokes for better stiffnes in theory too!.

There’s is a wee thread over on mtbr with lots of info on the wide rims mainly. (see 29er components forum). Lots to wade thru but essentially there’s the odd fail (as with any product – there’s about 4000 comments so not a bad ratio anyway) but mostly all good.

LB revised production recently to improve strength and these new hookless rims are only a wee bit lighter (15-20g ish) for 3mm less width and a lesser beadhook. To me it feels that there’s probably as much material in these as is in the wides and with a stouter bead to boot so not too worried re strength per se.

Hookless has been done before, is common for cars and rivals are moving that way too zoo although kinda new is a minor risk I guess. Probably all come down to rim and tyre tolerances then!

In theory a tougher rim (with a more stout n shorter bead) that’s lighter yet easier to make (tho sadly that didn’t translate to cheaper!).

The lower sidewall might mean a bit more flex n thus grip from tyre but that is just reading across Stans BST theory I guess.

Just slipped n bought me spokes for these so hope the erd is consistent to drwg!

Last time I asked it was maybe a 5 ish% off for 8-10 rims. A touch more would make it worthwhile for the hassle of reposting etc!.

UD Matt 28 hole for me, same as me last 26er wides and will lace to some nice dt 240 hubs (once i find a rear to match me front!) 🙂

I’ve been pondering the same. BH Lynx 4.8 29er carbon fits the bill but not the budget sadly. Used Devinci Atlas looks good too!.

Geo on the new Kona Process 111 looks spot on but I expect at least a years wait to see if the do a carbon one!!

Just checked…ah still mid oct sales for hookless rims it appears!!.

Tempted to go hookless meself, tho wish they’d done some a bit wider, can live with 22mm tho and suspect the hookless bead mean the trye will plump up a little more. Maybe enough to feel like they’re 23mm wider 29er rim!.

Are the hookless up on the site… wanders of to check!!. Would do a group buy but LB don’t do much in the wya of discount and onwards post frm uk might cancel out any savings!! Unless af ew of us are local!.

Took me ages but figured it out too!. Tried allsorts of pullers etc, then just twisted off with 15mm axle in the end.

Long shot but don’t suppose you saw where I might get the washers that hold the endcaps on with did ya?.

Would love the Derby’s but a step on again in price from the LB rims. Still not bad for Carbon, hoping LB are amenable to doing something a bit wider yet.

Maybe a wide/hookless rim is the next thing!!

Weight has gone up a bit after a bit of strengthening too, tho its worth bearing in mind that you “could” go to skinnier/lighter tyres as a result of the larger profile to compensate.

I beleive Gravity-Sports in Scotland are lookign at importing to the UK!!

Lightbikes are releasing a new hookless 29er rim in the next few weeks too. 370g (+/- 15g) and 22mm inner width. Could be promisisng for a light stiff option. Torn between that and the 29er wide at the mo.

Would love them to do a Derby type wide 35-40mm rim for trial use though. Derby might have a bit of an “arrangement” with LB on that front though so LB might be reluctant to go there for a bit!.

I enquired about discounts for upto 10 rims an your talking maybe 5%. they may go better for bigger quantities. I may be interested in a bti of a group buy tho!.

Agreed the Xchange rate isn’t always that great via paypal.

Think I paid about £21 or so on my lb rims. Lucky really, mostly admin fee that too annoyingly.

Pacenti TL28s and Wtb i23 KoMs iirc.

Nice Derby carbon wide rims too, see over on mtbr!

Iirc the damping is the same. Its just the extra adjustment that you get with the rct3. RLs are great value if your not into lots of twiddling and just run them open all the time!.

    Hi There

Seems like lots have taken the plunge. Running dt240 28 holes (white) and revs with mine, 26er wides that is. Easy to build and have stayed v tight & true. Not touched them at all, they are beautifully stiff and compare more than well with my flow hoops with same tyre footprint. At 1400g they spin up super quick too. The low weight really helps on long days and feels like you’ve aquired another level of fitness. At other times they’re just great fun and a compliment to my asr5c.
Oh went with brass nips so I could get spokes to a bit higher tension. Gonna plump for some 29er wides next I think. I am wondering though if anyone knows if they’re recently introduced 26er super wide is going to go over to the 29er format?

They’re are a few incidents of cracking over on mtbr but then what products don’t fail from time to time. Especially when er “jra”. Think the thread on mtbr is about 170 pages or somink just for the 29er rims.. so lots of users out there. I suspect for 29ers tho these rims really help stiffness wise!

Incidentally you might wanna check out derby carbon rims too. Threads on mtbr. Double the price but are in 40 and 36mm for 650b & 29er respectively. They’re new but the guy seems standup so far!

    Composite, yhm?

Are they not the same chassis now?.

Been running my Revs at 120 on my Titus Evo and pondering switching to revs. However the minefield of info on weights and which can be adapted to 120mm has left me still guessing. So far just stuck with me revs!.

Aye the cassette is a bit of a killer. They tend to last longer (from what I hear of xx – my xx is going quite well so if xx1 is better its good news there at least) and the 1piece machining appears costly. Hard to think it goes in the bin pretty quickly for something so pretty.

Sure Shimano will get there eventually and it’ll all trickle down in future. As always early adoptors pay through the nose, that’s how it goes.

Might have to be a custom 40t rear for me for now. Canfield brothers 9 or 10t driver hubs another option tho!

    Which shop robg?

I’ve got the flatbar on my Titus evo and so far so good. Came in at 170g so same weight as a Haven. Draw what conclusions you will from that really. Posted a thread called exotic bars ahem and got good feedback. Almost tempted on a second pair for my full suss!

Running TL 28s at the mo and they’re holding up fine. Came in at 450g each and loving the 23mm footprint, coupled with the added 29er contact patch the grip is great.

Have a look at WTB i23 KOM if your after something a bit lighter. Same width as TL28s but a wee bit cheaper too!.

Ah bugger, the extra weight and pressure limit might rule em out then, doh. Spose it must be to good to be true if the 26er and 29ers have the same name!!!. Just had em in me basket too!.

Spose I could risk the pressures and the weights are still lighter than say an opensport and stil cheaper. Hmm I’ll keep digging.

Ta for the info tho, its most useful.. and very timely. Be interested to see how the build goes.

Hmm Exotic 750 flatbar and Haven 55mm stem tested and it er works!!!. Albeit a low speed test with the Wee man on his child seat on the back. Will give it a proper run out maybe this Wednesday.

Still wondering if 800mm bars (also considering the Carbon 35 Havocs) are a bit much… especially paired with SIDs if thy’re a bit flexy!.#

Nice piccy with Evo back in normal ish config!.
