I ran a Purg ok if that helps.

Good point tho as I’m looking to go with 35mm wide rims and as far as I understand it they tend to jsut make the tire plumper (rather than taller!). So will take the risk I think.

I think there is a bit of plump room so to speak but not much room for a taller tyre as it’ll buzz the seat tube. i.e. the stays are fairly wide and the plate bridge behind the cranks side helps a little too here.

If you check through the thread back a bit (I know it’s a bit big!)there’s some pics of the tyre clearance with popular tyres.

Like the Syntace rims and glad they’re doing em seperately now.

I am sure a few other manufacturers were looking at doing them in some of the interbike reports.

Pretty much the same price as Light Bicycle Carbon rims tho.

Nice, I love the silver on the hope hubs. I quite like DT hubs at the mo so I’ll be building them up.

Gonna try Revs and 28 holes too. I think the added stiffness should hold up fine. Worked ok on my 26″ light bicycle carbon wheel builds. I’ll see how it translates to 29″

What spoke config did you go for in the end?

Still loving mine, with Pikes on it feels a bit invinceable!!!

Exotic Flat Carbon bars here and 60mm turbine stem in the cockpit (stem at 6deg drop).

Maybe some nice fat 35mm Carbon rims for it next!!!

Turns out they’re $180 in the end.

Sorry justvsaw your old post TLR. Is that £400 for the pair?

Exchange rates quite favourable at the mo!.

Aye 35 outside. 30mm inside, 589 erd. There’s a profile on mtbr forum I think.

Gonna give 28h a go meself…. 80kg without gear. Was fine for 26″ lb rims!

Aye lots of folk scoff at the lack of weight savings but the added stiffness is the real bonus.

The price is debateable, though the light bicycle rims are a bit less at $165 plus post, duty, etc!.

DT78 is that the 27mm hookless rims, how’d they build up and ride?.

It is interesting to see how all this goes. In theory narrower (lighter) tyres could be run and this may even lead to a resurgence of 2.1″‘s. Wonder if treads might be redesigned too to account for the flatter contact patch.

I really fancy the light-bicycle 35mm due shortly but already I can see it ruling out a couple of 29er full sussers I had in mind. Devinci Atlas and Whyte T129 namely, not if I want to run 2.3″ tyres anyway. What’s everyone else looking at running?

Light bike are sposed to be knocking out some 35mm rims as of end of Nov. May well give em a try.

They’re hookless too but with larger 589 erd. Oh and circa 420g in weight. Be intersting to compare the two!.

Ah yeah prime has 75-76deg sa which pushes it all out 10mm (stackwise). Guess that’s where the 46.6″ wheelbase comes from too.

What’s wheelbase on codeine anticipated to be?

Good stuff that’s prob about my size with a recent lack of fitness.

Did we do headtube length and wheelbase yet.

Also are the reach measurements you gave correct. Seem a bit short compared to say a banshee prime with same seat angle and top tube length in a large/18″?

Think Brant said these would be on sale for pre-order this week 😉

Shame we missed the 15% deal ;D

BBG here too. The drilled out oval is pretty and darn light too…. Oh and cheap.

Also using a turned down (I.e toothless) e13 guidering on my 120 bcd raceface cranks.

Just doing it!, he’s just dozed off too!. A man can dream can’t he!. Need a thick thin ring for the raceface double. Sram do an 80 bcd double too so surely its gotta be worth someone doing one 😀

I’ve been thinking about these too. Both look rather nice as do the banshee prime and the devinci atlas. Check em out!

I believe the frames currently about 7.5lbs but target is 7lbs from what I’ve read anyway.

On-one are usually on the money ish but will vary with size and finish I suppose!

Just seen these can be had via eBay for £27 but you should get a slightly better price going direct. Just email they were very communicative!.

I thought that the smoothie mixer might be the reason. Might be worth the extra inventory tho to get that front end down an extra 15mm or so. (Slave) fitted a pike 150 to my 20″ Titus Evo and it did feel pretty tall! so took it off til I can get a shorter air spring!.

Tis looking good all the same aside from not fitting me and slightly high front end 😆 It may be a third Brant bike for me.

Will keep my eyes peeled next week!.

Our scheme (a major corporate) started with parts this year I believe… Via Halfords too. Woulda been great if it coincided with the Hope wheel deal say!

Aye kinda know what you mean. Had a lot of seatpost showing on my ti456 18″. Just a bit concerned that my non stealth 125mm reverb will be long enough. If a reverb stealth holey was in there it’d pave the way to use 150mm drop post and make an 18″ work for me.

But of course that then doesn’t suit everyone else. Its all a compromise at the end of the day.

I think I know the answer but is there any chance of stealth dropper routing.

Ideally I’m a 19″ man for most of your bikes but they come in 18″ or 20″ flavours. At least if a I ran a reverb stealth which comes in 150mm flavour I could get the height I’d need.

Was looking on mtbr and saw certain kmc x11 sl’s “may” work and also some folk say any 10spd works fine tho I’m bi concerned bout wear implications!.

    Any better advice out there?.
