Aye I clashed with Chinese New Year last year too, tried not to this year and when I googled I thought CNY was on the 28th and not the 2 weeks before as well. Ah well, didn’t really put me off though. I’ve had 8 rims from them to date.

For Tape I went with this… 66m for about £10……

Well done Chuck, quite a comfy number it is too.

Not sure where to start with how wrong this is but also of note is that the green goes particularly well with the super cheap Belkin Team Kit of PSA fame a coupla weeks ago 🙂

I’d agree. Ordered both ways tbh tho and lb have been pretty good.

Only problem is the holiday wind down started this week (according to Carolina) so production not really a goer until march.

Same here, march 08th for dispatch…. Booo. Use ebay to avoid the PayPal fee they charge when going direct!.

Ta indeed RobW. Managed to scoop one at Preston docks store. (Only £13 ish after c2work discount too).

They were marked at £20 on shelf. There’s a large still on display if it helps. Blackpool and Horwich were also showing as collect in 1 hr so assume they might have some, would maybe check tho before a long journey!

Why no returns. Evans in Preston is good to do it in person if you prefer, no quibble!.

Never clocked the 24mm versions tho must say I’ve been taken in by the wider is better school, oh and the U profile too.

I’ve had few sets of ud mtb rims and they look great. Very matt grey but you can see the panels of ud carbon that make up the rims, plus a slight hollographic type glisten in the odd light.

I went for the stiff blow technique to initially crack it, followed by even torque. Heard the fridge (or heat) is your friend too but couldn’t get me wheel in the family freezer:D

Ooo I’m looking at those rims too. Will build myself tho. Probably onto Dt 240s centrelock hubs. Thinking 24/28 for a disc setup. Did you go for the beadless versions?

    Gee76

It’s pretty easy to strip (as you probably know) so maybe try non-drive side first.

Mind you last drive side bearing I changed was pretty straightforward too. Not bad as a full wheel mind!. As a hub only it might be a bit more of a bugger to grip. Depends how easy you can get the tool to do the job. They’re about £20 of ebay!!!.

    Haha good point.

Any idea how much his silly cheap price was for the following?

    Does that include blue?;)

Are these the older versions or the new 2015’s do you know?. How do they perform. My old NN’s cut up and then shed knobs pretty bad!.
    (even in snakeskin guise).

    Is that weight accurate?

As a side note, did the Dutch Evil importer have any followings at all.

Finally how many smarties in a tube 😉 (sorry for all the questions!).

I suspect a new cistern might have been cheaper!

Oh I may have altered a few details re the ride to spare your feelings. Obviously we didn’t take pics for the same reason not because we were having too much fun or that the sun was to bright!.

    I’ll drop ya a piccy.

I remember last time and the big wheel revolution;) they were the skinny ones I suppose.

Put my purg on yesterday. It coped ok on what was quite an average ride really. Poor route, terrible weather, dire company and my bike snapped into three pieces. I’m pretty sure you had more fun. Mars bar cake was good tho;)

Hope you got sorted btw. Welcome to rumage my old swampies for a useable 60a.

I built my own. Been building for a few years but by no means a pro. Just take me time. Really enjoy building these as they go together really nicely. Only done 28 hole with revolutions so there’s easier options to build too.

Come on surely someone’s tried the road rims, any thoughts on the 25mm x 35 mm anyone?

Got a confirmation mail for my jersey. Looking fwd to getting it.

Many thanks OP. May the biking gods shine on you with good biking karma.

I’ve got the 29er 35mm rims which came in about 415g and have been fine. 28 hole and built up on DT 240 hubs with revolution spokes. Came in about 1450g.

Looking at building up a set of 25mm road rims on DT 240s again and will likely come in about the same weight of my 29er MTB wheels scarily enough. Anyone tried the road rims at all?

Just got my hooded merino jersey too. Very nice indeed but think the xl is a touch too big for me. If anyonone fancies a swap for their large I’d be interested!.

Ta KKF, I’ll look into it. There’s so many to look at. I quite fancy a thru-axle version but they don’t seem to do that on a roadie yet so cx might be the way to go.

Fair enough for the money. I’ve built a few LB rims too and fancied their 25mm wide 35mm deep road rims.

Been debating hole count to go for as a disc setup. 28 has always been fine on my MTB’s. I guess the less holes the less fishing necessary if I were to go the way of un-drilled rim-bed.

Quite like that kingkongsfinger. What frame is it and what size, presume its a Chinese special. How was the transaction?.

Been looking at something similar, mc286 I think, looks the same albeit for 142/15mm axles

Can I grab that last one if possible. Hopefully I can pass on the good karma at some point.

My emails in my profile. Many thanks kind sir.

Might still fancy those vouchers offa ya if ya do Jamie?

Sounds like the quick fit system is a pita then. More for ease of manf than owt else. Came to same conclusion with the reverb version too.

Caliper wise has anyone tried an xt (or slx) which is what the rs785 is reportedly based on. Would an xtr caliper work and is it any lighter than 90g?

On a similar note has anyone experimented with other calipers with these levers as yet?, Or seen such shinanigans out there on tinterweb?

6ft 2″ here and on a 20″ frame and all good here. I Used to have an 18″ ti456 and agonised similarly.

Your nicely in between so I’d say it’ll probably come down to useage. If your more xc mile munching then go a bit bigger. If your more bouncing around then go a bit smaller.

Its a great bike and capable of anything tho whichever way you go.

    Tgey are all charger damper.

Just to ad confusion however iirc I think on the psa thread for the deal on the rc’s, one poster mentioned that the newer 2015 rc’s might have a 3 position compression dial. Never confirmed it with anyone else though.

Presumably if true the 2015 rc just has 3 fixed modes and no adjustment to the level of compression in open mode (otherwise if it did it’d effectively be an rct3). Anyone else got the 2015’s and care to confirm?

Any further confirmation out there that the 2015 rc’s have a 3 position compression dial now (as per north country boys).

Sounds like that’s the rct version to me!
